This was a gift for a teenager and after a quick set up of her Amazon account, she was set up and ready to download books. Very easy to hold and operate. Much more advanced than my older Kindle version with a touch screen. Great value.

I bought the Kindle to give it as a gift to a relative that loves to read but does not like technology. It is easy to use, the text is very readable, crisp and the size is quite perfect to carry around.

I travel a lot. carrying heavy books was a problem. The Kindle is awesome light weight. Stays charged during my flights. Love it.

This reader is very user friendly. I had a different brand of reader before this. The Kindle is so much easier to use and order books. I love it. Love the way I can increase the size of the font. So many choices

This is a nice reader for everyday use. The screen is clear and the battery lasts as advertised. It feels a bit on the cheap side but it works well without any issue.

I have a tablet but wanted to find something to read my books that was more convenient and didn't drain my battery on my tablet. The Kindle met all my needs. I am now able to read my books at any time, feels like a book but smaller and able to keep all my books in one place. Battery also lasts over 2 weeks. Best was 1 month before charge!!!

If you don't need any bells or whistles and just want to read on a kindle this is the one for you. I don't know about you, but I have light bulbs at home and don't need a self lighting kindle. Also, I have an iPad so I don't need a fire. This fit the bill.

This is a great product-easy to read and great in sunlight also... This is my second one my second one, the first one was around 5-6 years old and just wore out...it went to the pool and also on the sandy beach..

Kindle is great. Your whole library fits in your pocket and you can take it anywhere, read in the sun, buy a book from you home any time...

The Kindle is a great piece of technology. Not 2 bulky & fits nicely in hand 4 operational purposes. Ease of usage & convenient storage capacity.

I decided to get a kindle because I can't stare at an iPad screen for a long time because it strains my eyes. So I decided to get this kindle and I love it! It's light and small, very easy to carry around!

I have always owned the most simple (cheapest) Kindle available at the time. I love the touch screen on this version, however (unsurprisingly) the ads just get more annoying with each version. I'm not super happy that the home screen ads now take up over half of the screen.. but since 99% of the time I'm just reading it's something I can live with.

The newest generation Kindle is slimmer, faster, lighter, and more comfortable yet works just as well as it always did. Reading one book after another with it.

I had an original Kindle, but it got wet and died so I needed another one. This one is so light in weight compared to the old one - I love it! The only down side is that I had a lighted cover for the old one and there is not one for this newer version, so I can't read it in the dark. Great for outside on sunny days though!!!!

I was a fairly early adopter of Kindle, and regularly use the original model. You know - the one with the physical keyboard at the bottom. I've always been impressed by this device, which was designed to be very good at one thing, rather than a one-size-fits-all device. Don't get me wrong - I love my smart phone, and sometimes use it to read Kindle books in a pinch. But I can use my old, creaky Kindle for hours at a time in a variety of lighting conditions, and it provides a great reading experience. I tried to get my wife excited by it, but it never really resonated with her. Then our son bought a newer model recently and he raved about it. For some reason she got excited about it and said that it would be a good present for her on some future occasion. Well, I had a Best Buy gift card and a reward voucher, so that seemed like a reasonable occasion. I surprised her with the newer model, and she was thrilled. I've used it and it compares favorably with my old model. I do miss the physical keyboard on the newer model, but the touch-screen features more than make up for that. More importantly, the clarity and legibility of the screen are as good as the original. I've seen people using Kindle Fire and other tablets to read books. I'll still stick with the good old Kindle (or the good new one) for reading. It's hard to beat.

This thing is very nice and perfect for reading by the pool. Light weight and the battery las a long time. Amazon books are cheap too. Get one now.

I'm not very tech savvy, but I found this easy to use. I like to take it to work and read on my breaks. The battery is very long lasting.

This is an awesome device for reading on the go. The screen is large enough, the new fonts are great, and it is light an portable.

I recently had to buy a new kindle, i used to have the kindle with the keyboard at the bottom. I was in LOVE with my old one. So hesitant to try something new. The touch screen was not something i was looking for. But it is easy to use and handle. Although now i wish i would have gone with the paper white so i wouldn't have to find a cover that has a light on it or a place for a light to attach.
