charger should be included and not just the USB cable...

The internet didn't work on this device. I tried a library program and was not ever able to connect to the library, let alone download any books. I exchanged it for the Kindle Fire.

It is a decent reading tool but that's it! Not really that good, with all the tablets out there prices are dropping and will phase this product out.

I really should've done my research before buying this kindle. It's the screen is too dark.

You can barely read this thing. It is very hard to use. Not a good gift for someone that is older. I am tech savvy and I had problems.

It serves it's purpose for juts reading, but I'd much rather read from an actual paper book than this thing. I did not like it.

good price and design, light, the main problem was that I couldn't read at night, very dark, I return that.

My daughter doesn't like it since it has very limited options. Recommend to buy a upgraded version.

If u r fond of reading.. This comes in really handy.. Prolonge use is comfortable..

A good price when you need to replace one quickly.

I have been a proud owner of one of first Kindle series, and this one was a good upgrade from my model. It is lighter (than my old one), and Amazon made some improvement on e-ink screen as well. In fact, I liked it so much that I purchased two for my in-laws. If you like reading books, but iPad or other tablet screen makes your eyes too tired, it is worth trying Kindle or other e-ink readers. For me, the e-ink screen is almost as good as papers in terms of strains on my eyes. Also as a added bonus, you get to increase font size. Have you experienced purchasing a cheap paperback at an on-line store and found out that printing quality is so poor? At least you don't need to worry about that any longer! The other good thing about e-readers in general is that it is slim and light. I really wish I had it when I was carrying around "The Lord of the Rings"!! It got 4 stars instead 5 simply because there are better Kindle models out there, but for the price, this Kindle is a very good e-reader.

I returned this reader because I can't open my epub files from my nook (which i was replacing) and it won't even let me install an app to open my books. Also I can't read books via scribd with this devise either. Only buy this reader if you are committed to Kindle being your sole platform to buy books. It sucks because i was really wanting to have a reader that uses the e-ink but I don't want to be locked into only one place to buy books.

This version has no backlight. It's great for reading in well lit areas, just as a normal book. Screen Is very paper like. Lots of cool features - you get a kindle email address that you can email ebooks, pdfs, and kindle books to and they automatically show up on your kindle, amazon offers a service that converts ebooks, pdfs etc to kindle format. there's also a browser to surf the web. Battery life is great - lasts weeks. Not a bad ereader.

But turns out it is! Otherwise, I am satisfied with the product and would recommend it if you don't need to read in dark (otherwise rather get Kindle Paperwhite).

Bought this on sale after Christmas and I absolutely love it! I'm reading much more now since the Kindle is so small and easy to carry. The battery life is my favorite part! At least two weeks without having to worry about re-charging? Yes, please!

This product has been a great buy for my son who's an avid reader. He loves it. It's easy to use. The paper white screen is great. He can read without carrying a stack of books. Can't beat the convenience of it. Make sure to purchase the kindle basic cover because it protects the device very well.

I am quite happy with the Kindle. Great product for book reading. I like the daylight readable screen, and the long, long battery life....

I love that I have many books to choose from when I carry this small, light weight device. As an avid reader, I am often midway through several books at once. Also, I can download books from our local library to read on my kindle. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it lacks a light. You can easily find and purchase a clip on light but it would be nice to not have to cart one around.
