This is an excellent tablet for its value. Do not compare to it a IPAD mini because they are completely different products, there is a reason why IPAD mini is close to $300 more. For $100 - $150 Kindle Fire is a great tablet for day to day use. The only negative I would say is the camera as it's terrible but it's great for day to day web surfing, emails, games and ebooks.

The first reason I bought this tablet was, it was an open box item, and I picked it up for less than $100, while buying a kindle fire HD for my parents. I do enjoy watching hulu and netflix on the kindle, maybe even enjoy a few games and such, so it is great for what it is. I will be purchasing an Android tablet in the future to use in my truck as a tuner/engine monitoring device, because this tablet can't do that.

If you are looking for a tablet, this is the one. I love the size and it fits my purse. Able to play games and use it as an e-reader. The price is great compared to I-Pad. I also use it to watch Netflix movies on and the screen is great. Battery life is long. The apps on Amazon store are great.

My wife loves this foray into electronic reading. This is her first e reader. Even though she is not to wild about learning new programs or devices etc, she is very satisfied with the Kindle. The only complaint she has is when she is in her book and is changing pages and accidentally activates the pull down menu the page will automatically jump to the beginning of the book losing her place. This doesn't happen all the time but often enough to make it annoying. She thinks this is a program glitch and she is waiting for a fix. I have helped her import books and return books etc. I find that navigating and finding certain things on Amazon and Amazon Prime not very easy. The online instructions are lacking when researching various issues regarding the Kindle. I have found most answers elsewhere on the internet.

Amazon Kindle Fire tablets run a fork of the Android OS which means they inherently have all the capabilities as a regular Android tablet, but are practically limited by whatever Amazon decides to give them. I personally find the Kindle Fire interface lacking in many respects and specifically cannot deal with the absence of the Google Play Store. That being said, the hardware is solid for the price, and Do-It-Yourself types can flash Jellybean or KitKat on it and have a wonderful Android device at a fraction of the price. Otherwise, I would only recommend this tablet to big fans of Amazon, or for kids who don't need the complete Android experience and might need some built in parental controls.

I was excited to receive the a new Kindle, even if it was the previous generation. It has very nice features for parental controls but the preloaded advertisments are so annoying I don't like using the Kindle. Advertisments show up on the entry screen and at the bottom of each screen. For $15 Kindle will remove the advertisements. I shouldn't have to pay to have something removed I didn't want in the first place. This is really upsetting and makes me scrutnize any future purchases from Best Buy.com.

Love my Kindle! It's so easy to use, and I use it every day for reading/ as well as getting on the internet. Highly recommend!

This is a terrific tablet for any one pick up and use. Great screen resolution makes it easy to see and read. Stereo sound for watching movies, touch screen works great, just an all around great little tablet. The only downside may be that you will only be able to use this with Amazon's service, such as Prime if you with to watch movies. Not a deal breaker in any way.

The Kindle Fire is an excellent tablet. It has everything you need with internet browser, app store, video/music streaming, and even a built-in web cam. It's very reliable and sturdy enough for a toddler.
