I own several Apple products (iPods, iPads, iPhones) and the Kindle Fire HDX offers the same, if not a better, tablet computing experience. The HD display is great for streaming video content and watching movies. Additionally, I haven't experienced or noticed any screen glare problems while reading. Lastly, the device is user-friendly and the Amazon/Kindle assist feature ensures enjoyment amongst users of all ages.

Very nice computer holds charge well and fast and easy to use.

This is my second Kindle. I just had to have this once I saw it on display in the store and it did not disappoint. Its fast with its 2.2 gHz quad core processor and extremely clear. The screen is so beautiful with its 1920x1200 display,The HDX is so easy, fast, with many new functions. It has the text to speech function so I can listen to books while doing other things. I use it for reading e-magazines, check email, watch movies (I'm a member of Amazon Prime), and playing games. There is a good choice of apps. It has Kindle free time for children with A TIMER to limit the number of hours (minutes) the child can use it. This is a bonus.

Purchased the kindle fire for reading books. For reading books, the kindle fire and the nook are equal., both are good devices. Amazon has more books at better prices, but for books, Amazon Prime is poor, allowing only one book per month, and then, only certain books

I got this product as a back up for my IPad. I check e-mails, play free cell, and browse online. Works well and much less expensive. Probably does much more but I am technologically challenged and this is all I need.

The Kindle is lightweight and conveniently small for travel. Great for reading books or surfing the internet. The picture quality is good. The Kindle isn't a tablet because you don't have freedom to add software or customize your home screen, but it is inexpensive way to travel and amazon has a great library to choose what you want.

I absolutely love my Kindle...I use it for playing games, checking emails, reading news, reading books, passing time waiting in dr, office, etc....if I can do it on my laptop, I can do it on the Kindle. So lightweight--it easily fits in a handbag, tote, or briefcase. I subscribe to bookbub.com....it is amazing how many books are FREE!

So much faster, slimmer, and the video is Unreal.. This was a pleasant upgrade for me. Lots of new features,stuffed in this small package. Office Suite, New Browser, Quad Core Processor, Better resolution, and options to join Prime; Lots of Free Movies, Books and Music. The Latest feature of the Fire HDX is the "Mayday" button.. for those whom are Technologically Challenged, or just need help now and then. The small size fits in a purse or backpack with ease. I got mine on sale.. it was so worth it.

This was a gift for my daughter's birthday and she is very satisfied particularly for the books and magazines that she enjoys reading. While my local best buys were sold out I ordered it on a Fri afternoon and it arrived delivered to my house on following Monday. Was very impressed with the ease of the process.

I purchased this tablet based almost exclusively on the screen quality and cost. After using it for past month, I can honestly say I don't miss my iPad at all. It offers me a straight forward, easy to use means of watching movies, playing games or even doing some work. The Mayday feature and parental controls are unique and perfect for anyone wanting to monitor what their kids are doing on line. I will be buying four more as Christmas presents for my kids and family. I would definitely suggest buying at least 32 go unit as space can become issue with lots of apps and shows.

Of course it's always nice to be able to transform your tablet/gadgets into something more personable for yourself, unfortunately Amazon doesn't want you to do that. This rating is higher than it probably would have had I not found an alternate apps system and been able to change my home page and other options. But for the money, it's exceptional.

Would love for this to sync with Google, but that's ok. I have a laptop and a phone and really only wanted something I could read on AND look at Facebook and/or Pinterest if I desired. This is perfect for me! It is fast and has a good battery life and I can surf the web too!

I bought my Kindle Fire HDX before going in for an extended hospital stay for my son. It was wonderful to use for videos, music, books, web browsing, gaming, etc.. I have no complaints. Screen looks great. Battery life is good. It is responsive. Not buggy at all. I have since used it for travel, around the house, and in many other scenarios. I am always pleased . Would recommend to anyone in the market for a small tablet.

The new Kindle is amazing. I place it above the Ipad. It's cheaper and it offers so much. The picture is amazing. It has many features. It is really light but it's a powerhouse.

Bigger screen. Better graphics. Lighter weight. Cheaper price. We have been very pleased with our Kindle. Kids love it for video games and surfing the net. Highly recommend.

This Kindle is so clear, you feel like you are in the movie. Games are also fun. I watch it every night before bed. It is so neat how you can start and stop a TV Show. I have both Netflix and Hulu, plus the Amazon on mine and they are all good for different reasons. This would also make a nice gift to buy someone special.

Bought this for my wife, and she uses it for everything. Internet shopping, games, movies, etc. No lag time in loading movies and games. Intenet is as fast as our laptop. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Never had a Fire tablet, I have had 3 Kindles, keyboard, touch, and now paperwhite. The keyboard died, touch still works, paperwhite is a year old, saw the FIRE HD 7 on sale before christmas, read the reviews, thought I would give it a try, I use it for books, video, web.

Upgraded from the the original Fire. Night and Day difference. Sleeker disign than the orignal brick with stunning HD screen. Has become my book and Movie Library. Not sure which I spend more time doing now.
