I bought this unit, my 4th Kindle, because of the larger screen. The extra weight is a drawback.

I have owned multiple Kindle over the years and while the size of the screen on the 7 inch Oasis is great, I did not see much improvement over the Paperwhite. In fact, I had to return the first one due to uneven screen brightness.

Wasn't PDF friendly, only amazon kindle book friendly, would keep blinking every time you touched the screen, couldn't change font/size for non-kindle books, couldn't zoom in for any page. It's nice to hold, looks fashionable, and waterproof but not great for readers.
