Really nice build quality. Still very expensive even at the deal of the day price of $175.00. Bought the high end Paper white on deal of the day at $79.00 with just as nice features.

Doesn't hold a charge, not as clear as the paperwhite . I expected an improvement from the previous model, what a disapointment.

I'm 20% into a book on my Oasis and I have a good grip on how I feel about the Oasis.
It is a real cool gadget and it's thin as can be! I love how light it is and the page turning buttons are a hoot!
The software is a little archaic and gee whiz I am so over the advertisements when I wake the Oasis from sleeping. I have other expensive devices and none of them try to over advertise when I wake them up.
That for me is a super big downfall since this is a expensive piece of equipment.
I also love that it has a dictionary built in because it brushes up my knowledge of words if I find one I am not familiar with.
So get this if you don't mind dropping a good chunk of money but the software needs some real updating!

I upgraded to the Kindle Oasis in Champagne Gold from my Voyage, and was hesitant since I love the sturdiness of the Voyage combined with the haptic buttons, but I'm so glad I took the plunge! The Oasis is a lot faster, the physical buttons are great and it's easy to use with one hand.
I only have two minor issues that are so small I can't even justify knocking this review down to 4 stars. One, a small part of my screen near the top (or bottom depending on how I'm holding it) is brighter than the rest. It's noticeable when the Kindle is booting up and when I'm reading in the dark, but not noticeable in daylight, which is when I'm usually reading. Two, the "champagne gold" color honestly isn't a huge stretch from the usual silver color -- when I saw the champagne gold was coming out I decided to wait until I could purchase it, but in hindsight I would've been fine with the silver. It's a really pale gold, so pale that I think calling it gold at all is a stretch. Still beautiful, though.
I will say that I'm still a bit nervous using the Oasis without a case, which was never an issue with my Voyage or my Paperwhite. It's probably sturdy, but the thinness combined with the metal back makes me really nervous about dropping it.
Overall, I really love the Oasis. If you read a lot and have some money to spend, I think the Oasis is a great purchase.
