I own two previous generations of Kindles and kept putting off upgrading because they worked perfectly fine but I had no idea how much my reading experience could be improved with a Kinde Paperwhite. The Kids version is perfect even for adults. It is essentially the same as the regular edition but with the bonus of a case, no ads, a year of Kids+ and an extra year of warranty. You can get out of Kids mode if you don't want to use it. I like the crispness of the screen and that the light allows me to read in the dark. The ability to change the yellow tones really makes it easier on the eyes. I had no idea how slow my older (2011 and 2012) Kindles were until I got this 2021 version. I do wish there was a physical button for page turning but I have gotten used to turning page with the touch screen. The included case is nice quality. I like that the flap attaches to the back with magnets while you are reading. I like the plastic it is made of and find it is easy to clean as opposed to leather or fake leather. The battery life is excellent. I have had it for over a month and read a few hours each day and have not had to charge it.

This was a better choice over the regular Paperwhite, even if you're not a kid. Differences are: comes with a case, no ads and an extra year warranty. All this for less than the price of a case over the regular Paperwhite

Better than regular Paperwhite. The screen is leveled with the borders and it is much faster than my 7th gen Paperwhite. It doesn't matter a lot in a reading device but still it is very noticeable and nice to have.

First ever purchased ebook reader. The quality feels premium. The case is nice and feels sturdy. My son loved the amazon kids+ library. Taking off one star because I ordered this for pick up but still got the item with a few bumps on its box. But overall good purchase for a starter since I have access to 1year amazon kids+ library.

Great for an e-reader we bought the kids version for the case and no adds it’s a good value and frequently on sale.

Upgrade from my 2014 kindle paper white. Battery life is great. Text is crisp. Backlight works perfectly.

Bought this for my daughter and she enjoys to read a lot. This is easier to ready than on her ipad and is clear and lightweight and has a good battery life. Reading is great but going through the menus aren't very fast compared to a ipad. Also not as great for colored books as it will still show up as black and white.

Great gift for those that like to read. Wife liked it. It is the same as a normal kindle but with a nice case and better warranty.

It is VERY hard to go from an iPad, iPhone, Fire tablet, Android device, Switch, WHATEVER... to a Kindle. It's hard for me as an adult, and hard for my 7-year-old. It's slow. The touch screen is at times not sensitive ENOUGH, sometimes OVERLY sensitive. It's not intuitive. Getting books onto it via Libby or age-appropriate Kindle Unlimited was a chore to grasp. HOWEVER, once you accept it for what it is; a reader that's easy on the eyes and gives you access to 1000s of books at once, instead of lugging two or three in your bag while you're traveling. It's better to read on than an iPad or iPhone (note: graphic novels are NOT worth reading on a Kindle, stick to a tablet).

Great Kindle experience is improved even more with a bigger screen, warm backlighting and protective case. Is you find this on sale, don’t hesitate to buy one.

for pure reading the device is good...if you are interested in using the device outside of USA, Amazon seems to cripple the bluetooth and use for Audible...this is awful and seems wrong. The interface seems very sluggish for a 2021 device.
