I love these plugs! Have 8 of them. No issues connecting to internet. All reconnect quickly after power outage. Easy to put them on a routine to control them. My oldest plug is probably 2 years old now. Still going strong.

We use our plug to turn a device on that’s a bit out of the way, and it works perfectly. We got this on sale but the normal price is overpriced. There are other plugs that are cheaper or come in multipacks for the same price and work just as good. I will say the ease of installation and the fact that it shows in the one Alexa app (as opposed to generic plugs having multiple apps), is a plus, which is why we opted to buy this plug on sale. We’ve never had any issues with it (aside from it being a bit bulky) but it does what we need.

As an owner of the Amazon Echo Dot, I wanted to add some smart-home functionality to my non-smart ("dumb", if you will) electronic devices. Originally, I wanted to purchase an "assistant-neutral" smart plug, so that if I later decided to switch platforms (Google/Apple), I would be able to do so without needing to purchase new smart plugs. To this extent, I tried the Belkin "WeMo" smart plug, as well as the Samsung "Smart Things" smart plug... both of which I had a terrible experience with (I struggled with nearly constant connectivity issues). Frustrated by the sluggishness of these supposed "smart" plugs, I finally gave in and purchased a few of Amazon's own smart plugs. To put it simply... this was a breath of fresh air (akin to stepping outside and tearing off your facemask after a long day of work). No obstacles setting them up, no intermittent connection issues, no nonsense... Alexa + Amazon Smart Plug just WORKS. Granted, the only "downside" here is being stuck with Amazon's smart home platform... but when everything "just works" together, why would I ever leave...?

It installed easily using the included instructions. I wanted it to remotely control a lamp so that I can walk to/from my bedroom and kitchen without fumbling or stumbling in the dark. Then, I tested it from the grocery store using my mobile phone and Alexa app and it worked. Please note that the first lamp (a touch control with 3 levels of brightness) I wanted it for Did Not Work. It would turn off but not on again. The 2nd lamp with switches works perfectly. I can address it using my Fire TV Cube 25 feet away..even without shouting.

I love the Amazon smart plugs. They make my life so much easier! I love being able to set them up on a timer every night and have the lights on when I come home or go off at a certain time to indicate it's bedtime. I have 3 and plan on getting more!

This plug works great and the price is reasonable. Very easy to plug in and quickly have it working with your Alexa device. I plugged mine into a night stand light so the plug is hidden. Will be purchasing more for certain devices where the plug is hidden. As with all large plug-in devices, it would look a little odd out in the open.

I use this to plug my lamp in and control the power on/off with my Alexa Echo Show 5. It works flawlessly every single time that I make the command to turn it on or off, and I do that at least two times a day. There is a little blue light on the front that is the size of a dot that turns on when the plug is powered on and turns off when the plug is powered off; it is so tiny that I don't think it would be disturbing if you have it powered on at night. When plugged into my power strip, it doesn't cover the next slot but there is only about a 1 cm space so it may be difficult to plug another device under this without using coercion, if even possible. I bought this solely because I have an Alexa device that could easily help me control this plug by voice command and life is more beautiful now, just strolling into my room and commanding the light to be turned on without me having to walk over to the lamp and manually flip the power switch on, or being able to command the light to turn off without having to leave the bed.

So I’m kind of new to the amazon device family. We just got our echo a few months ago. I’ve been a prime member for over 10 years so I’m familiar with how amazon has changed life as we knew it (for me anyway). I saw the amazon smart plug when I was searching for any brand smart plug that had Alexa control with it. It’s been in my cart saved for later for at least a month! I finally decided to just pre order it so that I could review it and hopefully help other people that are like me and have fallen way behind in the tech field. For reference I’m an almost 34 year old mom of 2. This means that my 8 year old stole my iPad, iMac, and I haven’t had a computer of my own in about 4 years! So I do everything from my iPhone. I’ve had some weird issues with our echo and my Alexa app that it will just randomly pause a song so I’m not sure what that is about. ANYWAY! I received my new amazon smart plug the day it was released (so glad it’s not like a new iPhone or PlayStation where people camp out ahead of time or do people still do this??). It was easier than I expected but harder than was described in the listing because my Alexa didn’t just recognize it. Setup: Since my Alexa didn’t recognize it on its own, I had to unplug the smart plug and quickly scan the code on the back of the plug, then plug it back in fast so that when it scanned for it it would see it plugged in. After that it was very simple. I was able to plug in my baby monitor and then tell Alexa to “turn off plug one” and it turned off! It is so cool! Future: I think homes will end up being built with these right into the electrical system. Maybe they already are. Comparing: With so many different brands offering smart plugs with Alexa integration I can’t see myself buying any more than 1 for $25. Too many are 2 for $20. While it’s nice to have the amazon support backing this up, I just can’t afford to fill my home with them at such a high cost comparative to other brands that do the same exact thing. Overall: If you can afford to fill your plugs with these then do! This smart plug is easy and awesome! But if you’re on a tight budget like I am, I would try a different brand first and see if those will work just as well. Every time I purchase something online, I always check the reviews. I’ve tried several different brands and THERE IS NO COMPARISON. Easy setup and solid, reliable performance. This is top quality all the way, and for a price that won’t make you flinch. I plan to replace every other brand in my house with these for one reason...they work consistently.

I buy these when they drop to $5. Have bought several to use with Alexa home automation. These are easy to setup. Keep in mind that if your internet goes down for an extended period of time then these switches do not power on automatically.

Super easy to setup, fantastic features such as being able to remotely turn things on and off (we put one on my wife’s hair straightener because she has a habit of not unplugging it after we left the house- no we can turn it off from our phone). I have some at home and at another location, so my only chief complaint is every once in awhile both come disconnected from the internet, and the only fix is to unplug it and plug it back in.

These are by far the best in class of the plethora of smart plugs on the market. As an Amazon Echo user these sync quickly and painlessly to the echo environment unlike all the others that require their own app to be able to communicate with the Echo. As far a the price, these came up on Amazon's "Voice Only" specials over the holidays where they must be ordered by adding the Best Buy "Skill" to Alexa then ordering them by asking Alexa. Pretty cool but a little more time consuming than just logging in online and in a couple of clicks you're on your way. But hey, having to do 3 separate orders that way (you can't do quantities and could only order up to 3) for $5.99 each it was the best deal of this past holiday season. I'm highly recommending these to pair up with your Amazon devices with the greatest of ease.

This smart plug is great. It works flawlessly with Alexa. The setup can be a little arduous, if you've never setup a device with Alexa before...but that would be the only hiccup. Through the Alexa app you can name (and rename) the device. Originally, this plug was connected to a light; however, during this Christmas season, it's attached to our tree. So, whereas before we'd say, "Alexa, turn on the front light", now we say, "Alexa, turn on the tree." Simple, right? There are other smart plugs we've used, and continue to use, but this one was by far the easiest to setup and has consistently worked like its supposed to.

Works like a charm with alexa. Super easy to setup and pretty cheap compared to other brands. Not too bulky so I can still use the other plug for a different device

Good Smart Plug to Pair with Echo and AlexaThe Amazon smart plug is a great little gadget that has made everything involving plugs significantly easier for us. We use our smart plugs to control every seasonal and holiday decoration we have, as well as a handful of plug in lights. Integration with Alexa is as simple as hitting one button on the app to get it to find the device. Within the app, your able to control each plug, create schedules and set custom names for each plug for voice recognition. The plug itself does have a manual on/off on the side of it as well.

I am a long time user of Alexa automation as well as WEMO switches, and needed to replace two of the older, larger WEMO units with something smaller to accommodate outlet space. I decided to order this Amazon smart switch as well as a WEMO Mini, and wish I had saved the extra money and just bought 2 of the Amazon switches! They are cheaper, yet the functionality is the same, both have a manual button to turn on or off whatever is plugged in, both respond quickly to commands and automation's, and setup was an absolute breeze by only needing to scan the included QR code. I would highly recommend these to anyone in the market for smart switches.

No problems working with Alexa. Use it for lamp that is inventions to turn on and off

Amazon Smart Plug is a great smart plug that integrates seamlessly with Amazon Alexa. Setup was a breeze as I went through the setup process and had it up and running in less than 5 minutes. There are a lot of features for this plug, like the ability for it to be in routines that activate with a specific phrase or time, and the ability to know when you're at home or not so it can turn itself off when you leave your house or turn on when you come home. The only downside is that it only works with Alexa and will not work with Google Home or Apple Homekit. That isn't really a problem considering that this plug is made by Amazon, but considering the fact you can buy a smart plug from TP Link right now for less than this and it supports Alexa and Google Home, this smart plug is not the best buy atm. Overall though, it's a great smart plug if you know that you're only going to use Alexa. If you are thinking about using Google Home or any other smart home brands, look elsewhere.

I have tried other plugs before, but there is nothing like having a plug that is named after said device. The amazon plug works great and you don't need any other app to use it or connect with besides the Amazon Alexa app that you should have if you have Alexa in your home. The only thing I wish it did have is a way to schedule the times the light came on, so it would help me wake up earlier in the morning. I still give it a 5 star for the convenience of turning on and off the lights without tripping over anything and/or getting out of bed or wherever you might have the plug being used for.

If you have an Amazon Echo device, these wireless plugs are BY FAR the best to use. Believe me, I've tried them all and have been disappointed on more than one occasion. I had literally given up on finding a smart plug that would last more than a week until I found Amazon-brand smart plugs. I tried one thinking that matching components would stand a better chance of working as advertised - and it works beautifully. Not one problem, not one complaint, not one failure from these smart plugs - and set up is a breeze! In my opinion, these are the ONLY smart plugs to use with your Amazon Echo device!
