This CPU was exactly what I was looking for. It's stupid fast, eight cores and encodes video clips quickly without getting tremendously warm. I am using an aftermarket cooler with it, though. I know the newer 5 series CPU's are out now, but I'm still very satisfied with this purchase and would still pick one up if you need a solid AM4 series chip.

I upgraded my ryzen 1800x to this 3800x and saw around 30-40% of performance upgrade on my Asus Crosshair VI x370 motherboard! Updated the bios to the latest firmware from the Asus website and popped the new processor in and it recognized it right away with no issues!

It's been a while since I've tried an AMD processor. This one definitely has the muscle. Runs brilliantly and frees up the GPU to render flawlessly at full resolution. Being far less expensive than an Intel i7 makes this a no brainer for gaming platforms.

If you are looking for a 8 core multi threaded CPU to run games and programs without a hiccup get this. The price is great compared to Intels with the same core count and thread count. The only thing is it tend to run a bit warmer then it's Intel counterpart. Make sure to run this is a good AIO if you plan on overclocking.

I was looking to upgrade my gaming rig to a better processor with more cores than my old 4 core i7 7700k and was pretty upset to find out that with Intel chips you have to get a new motherboard. Ask the guys at best buy and was introduced to amd more cores the motherboard I got would support not only my ryzen 7 3800x but i could upgrade to the 3900x or 3950 and if needed i can use the 2700 on the board. So far this processor has been phenomenal I use a corsair dual fan water cooler and my cpu under heavy loads stays at 40 to 50 degrees max couldn't be more happier.

Purchased on sale at $345, and it came with Godfall and WoW game codes. Pretty much paid $45 for two games. This CPU is great! My games run on high settings at 1080p, and my 5700XT will hit 90% utilization while this doesn't break 50% utilization. The 5600x processors were not available.

Caught this on a pretty good sale and it’s been incredible s far. I’m no longer being bottlenecked by my cpu when I’m gaming. And it doesn’t get nearly as hot as my previous cpu did. Only issue was the first one came with a couple bent pins, but Bestbuy exchanged it no problem.

I have been waiting for a price drop for the Ryzen 7 processors since I decided to build a new computer. This has been a great processor so far. I've been able to stream to multiple sites at once, which my old PC couldn't do. I know that's more of a GPU deal, but my last one couldn't support a GPU strong enough to do that. I've been playing around with Adobe Premiere Pro too. It looks like I won't have the issues rendering or even running that like I did with my old PC. Again, GPU is more important, but I was getting 100% CPU issues with the last one. Short answer... I like it.

Compared to the 3700x, it's not a great value at MSRP, but when the 3800x goes on sale it becomes a lot easier to justify the added cost and boy, pair this with a good x570 motherboard and you'll have an awesome system for gaming!

Powerful processor for those that need to run multiple programs simultaneously including virtual machines. If I was only going to do some browsing and gaming I would get the 3600 instead.

First time utilizing an AMD CPU and I have no complaints. I kept it at stock clocks and it works great in my build for AAA gaming, productively, and casual internet browsing. I bought it at the discounted price of $355 and do not regret it at all.

I build my own systems I am NOT a professional. Rebuilding my 9 year old system. The AMD RYZEN is a major step up in computing power. Included fan is huge another step up. As I stated I love AMD .and have never been disappointed

Purchased this to replace a 3700x that I could not get the temps under control (bad example perhaps) on a ASUS x570 TUF wifi and this processor has been perfect. Temps are well within specifications, and, for the same sale price (+$20) as the 3700x, was a no brainer.
