Amy was an ok documentary. Tragic and exploitative.

Other people have stated that this was a great movie. I watched maybe a third of it but didn't finish it. Not my kind of movie.

I think it's easiest to simply say that anyone who loves Amy's music will love this film. All the footage is very candid and it's amazing how much video was taken and preserved since Amy was a child up until her death. She truly was the voice of a generation and the filmmakers really captured that in a tasteful manner. A huge plus is, if like most Americans you only know her album Back to Black, you'll get to experience a very good amount of her first album, Frank, which is a great Jazz/Pop album.

I love Amy Winehouse's music. She was a gifted singer and songwriter. I was blown away by this documentary. It was so personal, as if you were reading her diary. Heartbreakingly honest. This is a MUST SEE.
