This is a great game to get away from all the standard shooters and etc. I play this with my girlfriend and it's a very relaxing game. watering your plants and helping out the townsfolk or fishing/ catching rare bugs is actually fun in this game.

This game is absolutely fun and great to play whenever you have time to play a game for hours. I highly recommend this for children and those older who love the previous Animal Crossing games and would like this one as well.

This is a great game for wasting time. I normally play the RPG's that take time to play, but AC is a wonderful, simple, lighthearted game. Plus this is a game my wife and kids also like to play. Fun for the whole family.

Animal Cross New Leaf, is similar to other titles in this series. The great thing about this game is you can play for just a few minutes or for long sessions.
If you're unfamiliar with the series, you're basically playing a character in a virtual town. You interact with townspeople, which are various kinds of animals, you collect lots of different things (stuff for your house, fish, insects, fossils, and more. The game follows the real clock, so it's night time in the game, when it's night time in the real world, etc.
There are in game events, such as fishing tournaments, where you get prizes for catching the largest fish. Residents will move in to town, while others move away.
If you have friends with the game, you can visit their towns.

If your kids play this game, get one for yourself. You can have up to 4 players in a town at the same time, and it is good clean family fun. Planting trees, fishing and catching bugs are fun in this casual game.

My daughter had a copy of this and absolutely loved it. Had to get the wife one so they could play together and visit each others towns. It's not a difficult game, but it is one they seem to play a lot.

I've had all of the animal crossings games. This one is the best of the DS offerings. There is plenty to do in town as usual, but now you can be the mayor and decide where town assists are placed (and pay for them). The island makes it easy to make a lot of money too, which helps to pay for all of the town items. It's really fun.

Starts off a little slow, but as you start building your town the game gets highly addictive with doing everything you can to help out your neighbors.

I bought this game because a friend recommended it to me. I thought "Whatever, he's just weird, but I'll humor him"..... How wrong I was..... I am full out addicted to this game now. If you're reading this, do buy this game. It's addictive, fun, simple, and will keep you entertained for hours. I don't believe you'll regret it. :)

I have been a big fan of the Animal Crossing series since the original gamecube release. With each release, the game has gotten more and more features. The new addition of being the mayor of the town in New Leaf is very fun and interesting.
One of the biggest improvements is the ability to implement town ordinances as mayor. I won't get into what they all are as I don't want to spoil them but one of the best ones allows you to time travel without the consequences in the previous games (dead flowers, lots of weeds etc.).
I also have enjoyed the many new items in the game so far.
Overall, New Leaf is an excellent addition to the Animal Crossing series and a must try for any owner of a 3ds

This is my second copy of the game. I picked it up for my daughter's birthday. She was always playing my copy, so I thought it would be nice to get her her own, plus it also gave me my DS back.

You basically roam around gathering new towns people and perfecting your towns rating but every activity involved is a joy. The nature of the game is to just go at your own pace, and just take in the happy-go-lucky nature of the town. Really fun if you just need a sort of escapist/ micro management sort of game.

The game is fun and worth playing. The Bells ($) earning process is fun. Make sure that if you buy this game you go to the island and catch beetles; beetles give you lots of bells.

This game is great if you only have a few hours a day to play games. You can turn it on, catch a few bugs, talk to some townsfolk, and then get back to doing homework (haha).

This new addition to the series takes patience and time, if you don't adjust your handheld's clock to jump days and weeks. There are events to keep you busy like new or old furniture to customize, a larger house to decorate, new stores, personal customizations to do to your character and a town to run and change. The town is the big part you can change, and even the projects/decorative attractions to set up take a while because your character needs to pay with the resources you find daily. The game is a good gift to last a few months or even several, but it was very appealing even out of 3d, and has many features to connect to friends and make it easy to play through.
