The Anker 633 MagGo magnetic battery offers a unique take on their traditional design. This 10000 mAh battery provides a versatile combination of an 18W USB and a 20W USB C port with 7.5 W wireless charging and MagSafe connection. The connection is very strong, especially with a MagSafe case, providing a secure attachment for on the go charging. The iPhone can even be positioned landscape and tilted back with the built in kickstand. The 633 charged my iPhone 13 Pro from 20% to 100% in about two hours, while reducing its SOC 50%. The 20W USB C can also passthrough charge, charging both the 633 and the phone simultaneously. With a case on, I found the magnetic force too strong to be used as a table side charger and the 7.7oz weight to be too much to carry with it attached to the phone. I think in this particular case, the Anker 633 would have been better suited with a smaller capacity battery to reduce weight and improve portability. I still like the form factor and will keep it in my bag for charging on the go.

A great battery for wireless & wired charging

Conclusion:
I think the 633 MagGo will be my primary power bank for travel due to the optimization of flexibility, size and capacity. If you want a battery extender you can just attach and forget, the Apple MagSafe battery might be a better option, but if you want a multipurpose battery to use with any of your devices, the 633 MagGo seems like a really nice device. One device with many uses.
Details:
I have enjoyed using Anker chargers, battery packs and cables for many years. When I saw the 633 MagGo battery, I thought it would make a nice addition to my collection. I use a MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone 13 Pro and AirPods Pro. Having a battery pack that will provide backup power when I’m not near a power outlet is very handy when traveling. Though I can plug everything in, it is sometimes handy to have a wireless charging option. The 633 MagGo gives me that option, though wireless charging is slower.
The 633 is just about the size of a deck of playing cards . It has a 10,000 maH battery that I consider to be an optimal size for my needs. My iPhone 13 Pro magnetically attaches to the optimal spot on both the iPhone and battery and is acceptably secure there. I can flip out the handy little kickstand in the back and view my phone in either portrait or landscape mode while the iPhone is charging. I did a few tests and found the 633 will charge my iPhone 13 Pro from 78% to 96% in 45 minutes. It charged my 11” iPad Pro from 26% to 69% in 53 minutes via a USB-C cable. It even charged my 2020 13” MacBook Pro from 70% to 90% in 54 minutes also using the USB-C cable. I forgot to check it sooner, but an hour later it was at 100%. In all of these tests, I was only using the devices very sparingly. I believe wireless charging is always limited by the 7.5 watt power limit on the wireless charging spec. Apple’s MagSafe battery has the same rating.
I like the “Swiss Army Knife” flexibility of having USB-C, USB-A and MagSafe capabilities all in one device. I have an older Anker PowerCore 13,000 maH battery that has the two USB-A ports and one USB-C port, but lacks the MagSafe functionality. I think the MagSafe functionality is worth the loss of one USB-A port. I rarely plug in three devices at the same time, so the flexibility is a win for me. Also the 633 is smaller in size overall.
I also own an Apple MagSafe iPhone battery. The 633 MagGo is about twice as thick and perhaps 15 mm taller than the Apple MagSafe battery. The extra battery capacity and ports, of course, result in a larger device. The Apple MagSafe battery would be good if you don’t want to use it for anything other than your iPhone.

Another well thought out product from Anker

First impressions:
I have a few other Anker iPhone accessories; their products are usually well thought out and well executed. The Anker MagGo Magnetic battery is no different. Included in the box is the battery itself and a USB-C cable. My initial thought is wow, this is larger and heavier than I thought it would be. It measures 4”x2 1/2”x5/8” and weighs 7.6oz (for comparison, my iPhone 13 Pro with Apple leather case weighs 8.5oz).
Features:
But then I looked at the specs and features, 10,000mAh capacity (1.8x charge for iPhone 13 Pro), there are 2 USB ports on this device, I can charge using a USB-C or USB-A wire, the MagGo isn’t too big when you consider the features it packs in. I have 1 phone in my house that is an iPhone 7, so it does not have wireless charging. This just made the Anker MagGo a bit more useful!
The kickstand is a nice touch, very clean design, folds flat on the back of the battery. You can use it in portrait or landscape view. It doesn’t seem very sturdy though, hopefully it doesn’t snap off.
Charging:
The MagGo works very well, simply snap it onto your phone and it charges. The magnet on the MagGo is fairly strong, once the phone and charger are connected, it feels secure. The wireless charging rate is 7.5W, wired is faster at 20W for USB-C and 18W for USB-A. It took approximately 45 minutes to get from 50% charge to 70%. This charging rate was fairly consistent over my testing period. With a full charge, I was able to charge my phone almost 2 times.
Conclusion:
After using this for a few days while on vacation, I liked it a lot. The kickstand is a great feature; you don’t know how many times I would find an object to prop my phone against to stand it up. If I need a stand and don’t need a charge, I just don’t turn on the MagGo power. I think the Anker is a better device than the Apple equivalent. It feels sturdy (maybe not the kickstand) and is compact.

Charging Options for the WIN!

--- SETUP ---
The Anker MagGo portable battery is ready to go out of the box. It is recommended that you fully charge the battery before first use.
--- FEATURES ---
Two charging options: magnetic MagSafe and usb-C. USB port A available for charging non-USB-C or MagSafe compatible devices. Kickstand for vertical viewing of the phone.
--- PERFORMANCE AND EXPECTATIONS ---
This battery pack was my lifesaver during my out-of-state trip. I’m a dance instructor and I traveled to a dance congress. As an instructor, I record dance moves from workshops that last 6 hours in length. I confidently recorded the moves I needed being confident that I wouldn’t run out of battery on my iPhone 12 Pro Max.
I liked the convenience of not having to carry around a cable to charge my phone, just the battery pack. I did have to remove my phone from the case to use the MagSafe feature. The battery pack magnetically connects to the back of the iPhone strongly. I was able to use a tripod and have the battery pack stay attached to the phone so it charged while I was recording. During a workshop, my dance partner needed to charge her phone. Our phones charged simultaneously; mine was charging magnetically while she charged hers using her iPhone lightning cable.
The kickstand came in handy when reviewing videos while we were eating. The only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was that the iPhone 12 Pro Max couldn’t stay standing sideways (landscape) with the battery pack attached even with the kickstand. The kickstand would just fold back in. However, vertically, the kickstand held its own.
I was able to charge my phone about twice before the battery pack ran out of juice. I used it to have my phone fully charged while I watched a movie on the plane. This allowed me to land and use my phone’s GPS at full charge.
--- APPROVAL ---
This is a great travel charger and my third Anker portable charger. I highly recommend this pack to anyone. It is future proofed, as you can have options to charge using a USB-A, USB-C, or a MagSafe charge!

Sleek charger!

Awesome Charger! I have a IPhone Promax 12 and have several power banks but this one really is best in class! I love the smaller size, the MagSafe option, the usb C and USB to lightning charge options! The stand is a nice feature as well. Well built and feels solid in the hand.
I will probably use this as a everyday carry option for when the cell towers drain my battery or I listen to podcasts all morning. But for long trips, I will probably carry a bigger bank. The 633 states it will charge an iPhone 13 up to 1.8 times. Which is fine most of the time. If you get stuck in an airport…that probably wont cut it. Especially if you also have an IPad to charge and a partner's phone to charge as well BUT…when you need a quick charge to finish out a day this is gonna be perfect!
So sleek and secure (with the magsafe) and versatile! It’s a win! On a side note, The magsafe with a MagSafe case or the phone by itself is awesome but if you also use a thicker case like an otter box, the MagSafe does not work very strongly but it will still charge through a heavy case and you can use the charger as stand still which is nice.

Had this for over a year now. Bought it for working outside, using an app that really drained my battery. The magnet is really strong. It really charges your iPhone fast. It does add some weight or heft to your phone while it's attached.
The only issue I had was the heat, how warm it would make your phone when charging. My iPhone display would dim when working outside in warm/hot weather while using this charger because of the ambient heat from being outside combined with the heat from charging.
The charger itself will last a few days before it needs charged, which is really nice. I didn't have to worry about charging it every night. All in all I would say this is an excellent option for portable charging.

Cool Alternative MagSafe charger

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
It is a cool, yet a bit bulky, MagSafe charger for your iPhone 12 on up with the MagSafe charging feature. It is a good $40 less that Apple’s, plus there are indicator lights on the side of how much power is left and indicating charging state when plugged, and a toggle button to turn charging on/off. Being non-Apple, it doesn’t show the battery and charging state say for example on the battery widget (hence is why the led indicators are for).
It can be used to stand the iPhone with its kickstand , but it can easily tip over as the kick stand is not wide imho, but it depends on your weight of the phone (I have the 13pro max with a case and screen protector.
I use this in the office, at horizontal and charging, while listening to music or watching some shows / movies (where I work is chill/lenient).
The spare USB port is useful also; I use it to charge at time my Apple Watch with the previous usb cable. So it can function at not only charging your MagSafe compatible iPhone but other devices also via the usb and usb-c port here.
For a company just about over a decade old, The Anker brand is an innovative and a great alternative for charging products for use with Apple or other phones and electronics, and this here MagSafe charger is one of them. You will not be disappointed.

This wireless charger works extremely well. I do a lot of my work on my cell and hate having cords dangling when charging. I have accidentally snagged the cord on almost everything. This prevents that and holds a great charge. Sometimes it does get pretty hot, when the weather is warm. I just remove the chargerfor a while to let it cool down. Absolutely worht it, that i bought a second.

So far I’ve used this a handful of times and haven’t had any issues with it. I’ve gotten a full 2 charges with the mag safe with the portable fully charged. Only issue I can say I’ve had is that if you do move you’re phone too fast or make sudden movements when using the magsafe, the charger will fall off. It is a little bulky but not too big of an issue. Would be nice if the magnet was a bit stronger.

I bought this to use with my new Pixel 8 Pro (which has a MagSafe-compatible case). It kept my phone topped-off for a 5 hour flight while I watched movies the whole time and still had plenty of power left for more use.
It stays attached to the phone if I put them in my pocket (I'm a guy so pocket size is not an issue).
A stranger sitting next to me in an airport lounge bought one on the spot after seeing me use my phone on the kickstand.
I wish it had a digital display showing an exact percentage remaining instead of the blinking lights, but that's about the only complaint I can muster and it's pretty minor.
If you have wireless charging and a MagSafe-compatible phone case, I would recommend this device to you without reservation. It's my new go-to instead of the giant, wired battery pack I used to bring.

I bought mine for a 13 days cruise as I knew that some of the excursions I had booked were 10 hours long. Didn’t want to miss out on capturing vacation memories. Anker magnetic battery didn’t let me down during the entire cruise. I was able to fully charge my iPhone twice to full charge with Anker battery charger on these long excursions. Best part is that no dangling wires to deal with. The kick stand is an additional bonus feature. Amazing product and design.

I’ve been looking for a magsafe portable charger for awhile now I’d say I’m loving this one. It’s heavy but I don’t mind the weight. I’m glad that I decided to get this one I really don’t want to spend too much on apple products since I think they’re all the same. Got this on sale too it’s very powerful I’ve been using it not only when I’m out but also when I’m home. So far charge life of this product haven’t disappointed me yet. I hope it stays the same way.

Good battery but I decided to go with Anker 622

|
Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I have purchased Anker 622, Anker 633 as well as Apple's magsafe battery, tested all 3 and decided to keep Anker 622 and return the other 2 and this is why:
1) Portability
First of all, portability is very important to me. I want to be able to put my magsafe battery in my pocket while attached to my phone and I want to be able to hold it and use my phone while charging. Anker 622 and Apple Magsafe are almost the same size and they are both very slim and lightweight while Anker 633 is heavier and bulkier.
2) Power
Apple's battery is the worst in terms of power. I tried charging my phone while using it and the battery percentage kept steady and even went down during heavy usage with the battery fully charged attached. Anker 622 and 633 have similar output and charged my phone at similar speeds. It's still very slow when charging wirelessly but better than Apple.
When charging with a cable, Anker 633 can give 20W output while 622 only gives 12W but keep in mind that the fuller your phone battery is, the slower it will charge. This is not a battery issue, it's how your phone handles charging in order to preserve battery, so in other words it's the wattage the phone accepts at that time. For example, if your phone battery is at 5%, it will "accept" the max power, meaning 20W from Anker 633 and 12W from 622. But if your phone battery is at let's say 70%, it will maybe "accept" just about 11W max so the difference between 622 and 633 is not very relevant. Note that Apple's battery does not accept have an output port to charge with a cable.
There's something I found annoying with the 633 model when switching from wireless to cable charging. If I'm charging my iPhone wirelessly at 7.5W and connect a cable, the battery doesn't automatically switch to wired charging. I need to reboot it or detach and reattach my phone in order to switch to wired charging and get a faster charge. With the 622 model I don't have this problem because as soon as I plug in the cable it switches to cable charging. I guess this is because 633 gives you the ability to power off the battery if you just want to use it as a stand while 622 is always on when you have your phone magnetically attached.
3) Temperature
As other reviewers have mentioned, Anker 622 gets hot, but mine doesn't get super hot. I haven't had the issue with the battery getting so hot that the phone will shut off. Not sure if it's because I bought mine in October/2022. Apple's Magsafe and Anker 633 also get hot but much less.
4) Advantages of each
So, as I have mentioned, Anker 622 is the best in my opinion and is the one I decided to keep especially due to portability and is also the cheapest of all 3. But Apple's and Anker 633 have some advantages worth mentioning:
Apple
- Uses a lightning cable, so it can be charged with the same cable you charge your phone. No need for an extra cable but there are rumors that iPhones will be switching to USB-C next year
- Shows the magsafe battery percentage on your phone similar to your airpods. On the other hand the battery itself doesn't have any lights indicating how much juice it has left which is annoying.
Anker 633
- 10000 mAh which can fully charge my iPhone 12 Pro more than 1 time
- USB-A and USB-C output ports to charge different devices.
- 20W output when charging with a cable as long as your phone battery is nearly empty
- Option to turn on/off battery
Summary
The choice of which battery to get depends on your personal preference. If you're buying this just to travel and want to bring only one battery with you, the 633 might be a better choice for you since it can hold more juice. In my case, portability is very important so I'd rather travel with two 5000 mAh batteries rather than carry one 10000 mAh. I normally fully charge my phone battery while at the hotel and then just bring a powerbank to help my phone survive the whole day and 5000 mAh has enough power to do that. I don't want to be carrying a heavy and bulky battery around but this might not be a problem for you.
