When looking for a portable fridge/freezer cooler, there are a lot of choices on the market. There are many options to consider before deciding which one to buy, most importantly the size, weight, and different features it offers. Since this is the second generation of their portable coolers with batteries, it should perform quite well. And so far after testing it, it does hold up to its claims. However, the biggest drawback immediately is the sheer size and weight of this unit. At almost 70 pounds, it is not easy to handle alone. In fact, the closest thing is to imagine picking something that is 3ft wide with 8 gallon jugs of water on it. If you are able to accept that though, this is a fantastic cooler. For starters, there are two compartments that are the same size that can be individually controlled. This has become extremely handy when it comes to storage options, as well as power saving options down the road. You can control all the necessary things on the cooler itself, but it does also have an mobile app. The app was very easy to use, and connects flawlessly every time. While the unit is heavy, the handle used for moving it makes it very easy to move around. Because the battery and compressor weight is in the back end, it makes it much easier to lift on the other end. They advertised using this on the beach, but time will tell if these wheels can hold up to the sand. The inside has some nice thick insulated walls, as well as a drain plug on the bottom which is nice. Going through some testing numbers, here's what I have found. On AC power, it uses about 68 watts running both sides, and about 40 watts running one. On DC power, it will use 70-80 for 2, and 60-70 for 1. This is interesting because it's usually the opposite. However, if running on the provided battery, it averages at around 60 watts for both, and only a little less for one. These numbers are from the initial start up using smart mode for a couple of minutes. The problem I noticed with smart mode was that it never really turned off, it seems to be continuously running even if low powered after temperatures were met. From power up at room temps until the coolers reached a temp of 37 and 0 degrees, it consumed 30% battery (86.4wH) using smart mode for 2 hours. After for 10 hours, it was switched to eco mode and used 34% (98wH). This was all done indoors, where the room temperature was around 68. Assuming you give this cooler the best shot where you precooled and then ran eco only, then one battery can last almost 30 hours with the same conditions. That is very power efficient, but of course in the heat of summer you can probably expect it to be halved. While this is a great cooler so far, the price is questionable, especially when there are cheaper options and only one battery is included. It can be hard to recommend this due to that, as well as the weight. For long road trips, this is an excellent option because of the efficiency and configurable. If you are expecting to move this a lot on the trip, then you should consider something lighter. While the battery is nice to have in one package, you can purchase a separate battery twice the size for the money you save going a different option. The mobile app is great to use, and it is rare to see that with smart products nowadays. This is a good product, but know what you are getting in to.

The new way to keep stuff cold

I received my Anker Solix Everfrost 2 cooler a few days ago and to my disappointment, the shipper had somehow managed to knock a hole in the outer skin of the cooler. After contacting customer support, they were very eager to make it right and are shipping me a new replacement cooler. They have been great to work with. One thing the damage did allow me to see was how thick the outer shell is on these coolers. They aren't flimsy at all and this cooler must have taken quite a hit to have a hole punched into it. It also showed that even with a gouge in the side the cooler still works exactly as its supposed to work. My family has camped for years and with my kids involved in outdoor sports, we constantly keep a cooler filled with food, snacks and drinks in the truck. That means always dealing with ice and even worse, melted ice water soaking into our food items. This cooler really does solve both of those problems. The cooler is divided into two separate sections. Each one can be set to its own termperature. So, you can have to coolers set to keep stuff frozen, or two to just keep stuff refrigerator cold or one to freeze and one to cool. The options are yours. I can't say for sure how cold you can keep this cooler, but I have been running one side at minus 4 degrees and the other at 35 degrees and I love it. There is a digital readout on the top and menue buttons and there is also an app that lets you monitor the temperature and batterie and make adjustments to the cooler. My cooler came with a DC charger and a car plug charger. You can also buy a solar charger if you spend a lot of time dry camping. My Chevy truck has an AC plug in the bed, so whenever I need to recharge the battery, I just flip on the plug and in an hour or two I have a full battery in the cooler. The cooler is heavy, but not much heavier than my Cabelas 80 qt ice chest. I think this cooler is just a little under 70 pounds, but it has a built in handle and built in wheels. It also comes with wheel chocks to keep it in place while in the back of the truck. If you use a cooler a lot like my family does, this is a great product and one that, so far, is working exactly as expected. Now, I have to send my damaged cooler back and anxiously wait for my replacement. Get you one, and you won't be disappointed.

Anker - SOLIX Everfrost 2 Electric Cooler 58L(61QT) is a cooler beast. I've used it continuously for several days. I've used it on A/C power, and on battery power. Here's what I can say. Both the freezer side and the refrigerator side keep your food and beverages amazingly cool. I am beyond amazed at how well this product works. I was able to place a few frozen items in the freezer section and ran the cooler on battery power for over 18 hours keeping everything nice and cool. Now keep in mind this was done indoors with the inside temperature being 70 degrees. So I am curious to see how well this will work during our summer months which will be around 95 degrees and a nice dry heat. Overall I would highly recommend this cooler. You can connect this cooler via wifi or Bluetooth which does come in very handy. The wifi probably not as much when camping but the Bluetooth definitely will especially if you're running it off the battery and you're sleeping, you'll get notifications when the battery is almost dead. The battery can be charged via A/C, or D/C. The cooler has a nice and easy-to-use touchscreen and an even easier to use App. The lid locks are sturdy and the hinges are very sturdy as well. I can't say enough great things about this cooler.

    Huge & Amazing Build

This thing is huge, it takes up all my cargo space in my small SUV. The build quality is great, like the iPhone of portable fridges. The battery alone is about $200 so if you get a cheapo one, just think about how much having a built in battery would be. If this one is too large, get the smaller one. Be that cool person wheeling this thing to the next picnic. Impress that friend still using ice coolers.

I liked it but did not love it, it does what it says it does, it gets cold, freezer cold even. but the battery doesn't last long. I took it for an event and I was at 80% battery live in the 15 minutes it took me to get from home to event.
