When it comes to bluetooth headphones, I always lean towards behind the head cord over the neckband headsets mainly due to the look. With that being said, I understand the functional benefits that come with the neckband headphones which mainly revolve around battery and sound. I was looking for a headphones with a longer battery life so I decided to give Soundbuds Life a try because they didn't look too bulky and I fully trust the Anker name as own a number of their products already.
Sound: The sound on the Soundbuds Life were the same great quality I've become accustom to expect from Anker. I was able to play music at a reasonable volume and block out all nearby background noises without much issue.
Functionality: The battery life has been great thus far and last longer than my other bluetooth headphones normally do. I'm still not the biggest fan of the neckband as a whole, but after having the band on for a short time, you don't even notice it. I found the buttons on the band to be very easy to use and I loved the functionality of the play button for my music and then leveraging Google Voice on my Pixel. My only suggestions in new model would be to have retractable earbud cords (I've seen it in other models) and include a small, tougher case than the cloth travel pouch.
Pros:
- Great battery life
- Solid sound and great noise isolating
- Very Comfortable neckband and earbuds (barely notice you're wearing them)
- Intuitive buttons on neckband for power, volume, track skip, play/pause, integration with Google Voice
- Easy pairing
- Additional ear pieces
Cons:
- Tougher case would nice instead of the pouch
- Retractable cord would help ensure cord doesn't damage/tangle when not in use
- Vibration when powering on is slightly jarring
Overall, going in, I had reservations about the neckband headphones, but I'm very happy I took a chance on the Anker Soundbuds Life because I think they won me over with the quality and comfort and the piece of mind knowing I don't have to charge my headphones as much as I've grown accustom to. I don't know if they'll become my full-time headphones, but I plan to definitely use these for work and conference calls or periods where I know they'll get extended use.

Was able to use these for about 5 months until they broke. Loved them up until that point; I'd used them on a daily basis. Not sure exactly what went wrong, but they wouldn't charge anymore at least.

Fantastic sounding and feeling earbuds

I have a drawer full of past attempts at finding a good set of earbuds. These Anker ones are the clear winner (for now!). The sound is very solid and clear, with some bass but not too much. Microphone works well. Pairing was quick and painless. I love that I am able to easily activate my google voice assistant without touching my phone.
The big test for me is when I'm out and mowing my lawn. I want a set of headphones that don't fall out and can be heard over the noise. These ones work great! There aren't really any dangling cords to get snagged and while they aren't noise canceling, they are snug enough to let me hear my playlist.
I've only charged them once so far and they're still going strong. All in all, I'm a big fan and may need a second pair if I can't get them back from my wife.

Long battery life and comfortable headphone

Anker SoundBud Life is an awesome headphone. Battery life is amazing 20 hours. I have been using 1-2 hours for past 9 days and it is still going so I believe it will last 20 hours.
You get multiple ear buds to fit your ear size. Also, it has magnetic ends so they group together when you don't use them instead of just dangling by themselves. I thought wearing this on the neck might look weird but it doesn’t look that bad. It is so light that you don’t even notice it is there.
My only discomfort was when I was stretching/exercising while wearing it and for certain movements, I had to take it off so it doesn’t just fall off my neck. Therefore, I can’t say this is perfect for workout, but it would be perfect for running or all other stuff that don't require you to completely bend over. Lying down on your back is fine though.
It has IPX5 rating so you don’t have to worry about this getting some water or some of your sweat. I did accidentally submerged my earbuds on the water fountain but it worked without any issues right after.
The button operation was pretty standard and easy to learn if you never used it. Volume up and down, answer calls, etc…
I am not sure how exactly noise cancellation works though. I did hear much less noise from a box fan while I was wearing it but I could still hear some noise from the fan. Other than that, sounds from it was perfect for daily use for regular audience.

Amazing headphones for PUBG Mobile

I had never tried headphones that wrap around the neck. I was worried It would bug me but you soon forget they are even on. I was immersed in amazing sound with even good bass. I took some calls on these with my iPhone X and people can hear me well and I can hear them great. I mainly got them to use on PUBG Mobile. This is where they shine! I’m able to hear small details and get amazing feedback. It’s so intense to be playing and hear the sound of the action coming at you so clearly. The charge on these seems to last forever. I’m always hearing friend say they need to charge or change headsets. I’ve never had to do that and when I did charge I only did it cause I thought I should at some point. I’m pretty sure I had plenty of juice left but went ahead and put them on the charger. These earbuds fit really well and seemed to block out a lot of the environmental sounds around me which was fantastic. They come with a nice cloth bag though I barely put them in it. The ear buds magnetize when you store them. I kinda wish the cords on earbuds could roll up into the neck band but other then that these are amazing headphones. Grab a pair and see you on the battlefields of PUBG!

Superior Quality...

...especially at such a great price!
While not an absolute audiophile, I do listen to many genres of music, from bebop and standard on through classic rock, old school hip hop and current pop and country. I have been a professional singer/actor for a great many years. I believe I know good sound when I hear it.
My verdict on the Anker Soundbuds Life: wonderful quality sound!
As a point of comparison, I grabbed my wife's Beats Solo over ear headphones and listened to various music:
Big band jazz (Stan Kenton - Malaga, Pat Metheny - First Circle, Clifford Brown - Joy Spring) sounded absolutely terrific, actually better quality and clarity on the Anker unit. Walking bass lines were very easy to discern, high's were crisp and not tinny.
Hip-hop (Dr. Dre - Dre Day, Tupac - How Do U Want It) delivery felt more robust than the unit had any business offering. It felt just short of sitting in the back of a '64 with amp driven sub's behind my seat.
Battery life: I defy you to find better. And, a 90-minute *full* recharge doesn't keep you confined for long.
Ease of use: the bluetooth radio sports a seamless, powerful connection to the device you are connecting to. It is button simple.
Anker is a company that truly stands behind its products, too. The 18-month warranty is something you won't find among many, if any, comparably priced products. Customer service is always friendly and willing and wanting to *help*.
In short, like their charging cords and products, Anker is a wonderful company everyone should give a shot. It is, quite simply, the best value on the market I have found.

* Product exterior – Product packing is great as always and well packed with a carry pouch, various ear tip sizes and charging cable.
* Description of use – Every day use. Very light and absolutely comfortable
* Ideal users – Almost anyone. its a great sounding headset with crystal clear sound with long battery life. Unlike other product, there is no noise and no thump when cable moves as it rests very easy on neck.
* Competitive comparisons – Similar to other products. But this fits bit better and very comfortable. Not to mention is waterproof.
Well done Anker, this is a winner

These SoundBuds are in-line with the other SoundBuds however, I prefer the sound of the Surge and my Pixel Buds over these.
Alright sound, fit well, great battery life and stylish. Controls work well. Paired quickly with my Pixel 2 XL. The ear buds fit nice and snug in my ear with a great seal. I really like the neck band and the magnetic buds when they aren't in your ear. I haven't used them while on a phone call because, who makes phone calls these days. All-in-all, these are awesome for the price. I'd give them 4 stars.

Great everyday earbuds

This is the first time I’ve ever tried earbuds with a neckband. I was curious about the experience or using. These over traditional earbuds so I thought I would give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised.
For Bluetooth earbuds I was most surprised by the really long battery life that can be achieved by having room for a bigger battery in the neckband. I havenMt used them from full charge, but they easily last for for multiple work days (which is my primary use for them).
The earbuds look sleek, they have IPX5 water resistance and pretty great sound quality.
My only criticism of these earbuds is that the point in which the earbuds cables connect to the neckband is a bit fragile so I could see it fraying over time. I haven’t had them long enough to confirm this, but I imagine that will some care, they’ll last for a long time.

So far so good. More comfortable than LG tones. Speakers are good clean sound , a tad better than LG tones.
Earbud cord is better quality than LG tones. Buttons are easy to read compared to LG tones. I would recommend this product for every day use. Don't expect mind blowing sound.
Above average for this price range.
Build quality is Definitely better than LG tones.
They also paired up with my phone very easy. Definitely worth it for me.
Sales person said he wouldn't recommend for working out but much better for work. So it's perfect for me.
I was very surprised how the quality is just that much better than LG tones.

Long wires kill the deal

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The sound is similar to LG 750 neckband I already have. I bought them for 20$, otherwise for 50$ LG certainly is a better deal.
The wires are much longer than LG ones, and even more, you cannot not pull them up like you can do with LG. All that leads to the wires sitting below my chest !
Maybe not a big deal if you haven't see anything better, but coming from LG, this is a real annoyance.
Otherwise, build quality is superb. They have start/stop button that is easily reachable and they are very comfortable in my ears.

Excellent Battery Life & Sound Quality

So far the audio is what I would expect from a product that is made by Anker in this price range. The battery life is awesome, as it lasts for an entire day's worth of activities without needing a charge, typically. A micro USB cable is included, but you must have your own charger. You already have one anyway, right?
I really like the fact that Anker included ear pieces in varying sizes to accommodate obvious differences in ear canals. The addition of the carrying pouch is also a nice touch.
The main thing that other customers seem to have issues with is the build quality, which I will be paying attention to as these SoundBuds are used over time. I will update my review accordingly as time progresses, and if you don't see an update that means everything is continuing to work great!

Fantastic premium headphones loaded with features

Right out of the box you get Anker's impressive Apple-quality packaging and presentation. Along with the headphones, you get a soft silk carrying pouch, multiple ear-tips in varying sizes, a Micro-USB charging cable, and a brief manual/warranty info booklet.
Build Quality:
The build quality on this is definitely somewhat premium with a brushed aluminum-esque (it is a very durable plastic) exterior with the neck section and interior side a rubberized plastic that feels comfortable and weightless when worn around the neck. It is also quite flexible and not rigid which I liked. The buttons are simple to use with the rubberized volume and power buttons on the inside and the play/pause/answer/voice-assistant button on the outer right side which had a nice tactile response and was easy to reach without having to look. The earbud part is the same aluminum looking plastic and has magnetic connectors on the back of each earbud to keep them from dangling when not in use. The only negative part about the build quality, in my opinion, is that the cables feel a bit thin and could be made thicker or be braided nylon like Anker's PowerLine + cables.
These are rated IPX5 water-resistant which is nice for any rain but have not tested this yet.
One little touch I was really impressed by was the rumble/vibration feature when you turn the device on/off or receive calls.
Sound Quality:
Really fantastic especially for this price point. Crisp highs/mids and a surprisingly great low end from the 10mm drivers. The stock earpieces are comfortable, snug, and isolate sounds fantastically. Gets fairly loud at the highest setting but no distortion at all. Voice is picked up crystal clear.
Battery Life:
Has lasted me for hours of usage all day and have yet for it to run out of battery for me so no complaints here.
Charging is via Micro-USB via a hidden port on the inside under a rubber cover. Took maybe 10 minutes to charge and there is an indicator light to indicate charge status.
Overall this is a great Bluetooth headphone for the price and Anker has the best customer service of any company I have purchased from so if these were to break in the future I know Anker would be glad to replace it under their 18-Month warranty. The only things I would change are a thicker cable and disabling the beep noise when setting it to max volume but these issues were not significant to me as the product is already quite close to perfect at this price point.
