This movie creates some stunning set-pieces and introduces some thought-provoking ideas. It doesn't spoon-feed answers and leaves you to interpret many events on your own, which is refreshingly real. We don't get to know everything in life and the mysteries are what make the universe simultaneously magical and terrifying. This movie captures that perfectly.

Totally forgetable. Had to watch the trailers to remember anything about it. Pass on it.

This movie was okay for about 75%, then it turned strange. The 4k quality is good though!

This movie is a wonderful parallel universe type story. It uses the bond of a husband and wife to show the driving motivation behind the willingness to face all kinds of dangers to save the one you love and others as well. The movie has heart, stunning visuals, and interesting sci-fi elements that keep you engaged all the way until the end.

One of the things I like about A nihilation is its premise of humans encountering aliens - and the idea that aliens will be unlike anything our science can extrapolate on based on our knowledge of Earth and the universe we have amassed so far. The movie looks great on 4K video, as the movie was actually shot in 4K. So it really lives on home video.

As a huge Alex Garland fan I was not disappointed with this film. It has some great concepts and storytelling. I can imagine some being turned off by the conclusion, but I found it interesting. Some genuinely terrifying moments were a nice surprise. My biggest complaint was the CG. Some shots with artificial lighting were an eye sore.

This movie definitely has its kubrickian moments. I found it similar to the Russian movie Stalker, and the movie The Astronaut’s Wife, even though those are two completely different movies from each other. Parts of this movie will stick with you for awhile. I read that the studio wanted to change the ending to make it more conventional, but the director stuck to his guns. It’s good to see a stand-alone sci fi movie that hasn’t been watered down to the lowest common denominator, in this age of the movie franchise.

Interesting venture into horror/sci-fi. After The Thing and Aliens of course.

While Black Panther shot across the cinema world like the Flash, this film suffered for lack of attention and being sponsored by a company that normally does stuff for tv like HBO. Well paced and led by mostly female parts this film had me from the get go. Look out for the "bear scenes" later in the film.

These handful of chicks enter a 7 mile radius alien parasitic area that's increasing progressively. They run into a mutated alligator, then a mutated bear... Enter the lighthouse where the alien is at. The main woman protagonist takes it out... Decent movie, but starts off a little slow until the suspense kicks in.

Annihilation was an unexpected gem. Yes there were a few holes in the plot, but overall I came out of the experience wanting more. Don't let the trailers fool you, it's not about pretty animals and shiny objects, but a much deeper, richer story as told from the perspective of a woman mourning her husband's death.
