Luckily I read the book after I saw the movie. This was a hypnotic and coherent experience in the theater with only the climax reaching the same level of complexity of the book. The good thing is, the book has little to do with the movie save for a few surface-level details.... and this is a good thing. They are both brilliant and beautiful.

Saw theatrically and liked it so I thought I'd like to own the film. Film is strange but not in a bad way.

If you have an OLED tv, you must buy this movie. It doesn't matter if you don't like science fiction, this movie is the reason you bought an OLED tv. Overall the movie was good, but with OLED, all I can say is wow.

Loved seeing this intense Sci-Fi horror action flick in the movie theater. Wished it was a hit movie so more people would have enjoyed this on a big screen. But the studio didn't want to release this movie really as a wide release in States and not market it much at all all as grudge against director. At least that's what I read happened.

Holy Crap the colors are vibrant in this movie, letting things just pop and it lets the other worldly takeover look mesmerizing. I have never read the book, so in comparison to that I have no idea, but I thought for any sci-fi fan this was a good watch. A few scenes that make you jump and a few where the story loses you, but explains as it goes.

Wow! This was something. I can see where having read the book would be helpful. After watching I viewed several You Tube videos to clarify plot points and this action enriched the experience. I recommend doing this or you may remain in the "what the heck was that?" crowd. A movie that rates among my top creepy movies. Loved it.

I thought this was a pretty good Sci-Fi flick. It certainly is one of those can that can get a post-movie conversation started. I thought the direction, production, acting and effects were pretty good.

Annihilation is a great sci fi flick....if that is your thing. The movie constantly keeps you captivated wondering what’s happening and if it’s good or bad. But as the movies progresses you start to see that things aren’t all as they seem. I really enjoyed this movie and think it’s perfect for those hardcore sci fiers out there!

I really liked this film, it's by Alex Garland who's done ExMachina, The Beach, 28 days Later and Dredd. The effects are amazing and the story is pretty cool. A lot of critics gave so so reviews but whenever someone does a movie you have to think about they don't like it. If you're a science fiction fan you'll probably love it.

This movie is a trip. Natalie Portman is one of my favorite actors and she does great yet again in this sci-fi type film. The sound effects are awesome especially with surround sound. They r some creepy moments that happen, going to continue to watch it again.

Great movie. Real pretty to look at even if you don't quite get what is going on in it. The extras were pretty weak. I would have liked to hear something from the author of the book about the adaptation

The sound and picture quality are aces here. The transfer is surprisingly sharp (given it being upscaled from a 2k master) and vibrant. The mix is subtle and well spread out. The movie itself is very ambitious and tried to cover a little more than they had room for but is still a very solid sci fi movie. Very worthwhile purchase.

Crazy movie based on an even crazier book. Really loved the book and the movie. They are very different from one another but some of the best cosmic horror.

Wasn’t sure what to expect since the trailers didn’t reveal much about the movie. Definitely a very good movie for the science fiction thinker fan. I only wish the casting & storyline was better.

A nice 4K home experience as this film is ideal to showcase a 4K player. The ending scene (no spoilers) has an amazing visual that really pops on 4K. Highly recommended demo disc for that purpose.

I liked the movie even tho it wasn't totally what I expected. Was well done and had some amazing graphics. The plot and twist were well done and like I said, unexpected.

this movie explores a supernatural experience that i have not normally seen on film, definitely a must see for anyone who’s a fan of sci fi and movies that leave you in deep thought afterwards

This movie was pretty good. I enjoyed it, but there are plenty of people who would not. Just know it is a slow-burn kind of movie. Paces slow. Beautiful to look at and can workout your sound system.

This is a great 4K UltraHD combo pack for the first part of the Southern Reach trilogy. Get this one while it's still available if you want the 4K UltraHD version because this 1st Edition is the only way to get it. This is a very thrilling first chapter of the Southern Reach saga. I look forward to the next chapter.

A Very Well Done Sci-Fi Film Every Sci-Fi Collector Needs In Their Movie Library But The Ending Could Have Been Better IMO. The 4K PQ and the Dolby Atmos Sounrtack Are Fantastic. Purchased At A Great Price From Best Buy.
