I expected much, MUCH worse after reading reviews, but my family & I had a blast... even if that blast has become overly familiar.
At this point, you're either onboard with the MCU formula, you've never been aboard, or you're growing tired of it, and Quantumania isn't going to change your mind.
MCU films are very, VERY much like the comics- some are largely fun, throaway stories that contain pieces of the puzzle to a large crossover event and others are either the crossover event themselves or a large chunk of the upcoming event. In some cases what you've gotten out of the story has obvious pieces, and in others, those pieces won't reveal themselves until further into whichever phase is coming to a conclusion.
With Quantumania, it feels as if there's very obvious large chunks being fed to you and the story is built around this rather than a self-contained story with stealthily placed clues.
That said, Paul Rudd's time as Ant-Man has often had a bit more levity involved than some of the more serious stories, and in Quantumania, you're getting a bit of both, but a little more seriousness than is typical, which I enjoyed.
This was a fun adventure my whole family- between me (50s) wife (40s) & son (9) all enjoyed... but, we go into any & all MCU films with the expectations of a lot of action, loud & bombastic; some laughs; some clues or direction-pointing to the "end of phase event," and lastly, a SOLID story. Quantumania delivered on all fronts.
It seems to me people have come to expect Shakespeare instead of comic book fare. This isn't to say there isn't excellent story-telling that comes to fruition in these films- there certainly is- but that's a bar that shouldn't be expected to be cleared with every release, and the disappointment over Quantumania is quite baffling to me. It seems to carry quite a bit of what to expect from the upcoming Kang Dynasty, and that volume of setup was appreciated.
By now, you either enjoy the MCU for what it is or you don't. Expecting these "old dogs" to learn new tricks is only setting you up for disappointment. Quantumania employs the action, humor, and more FX than most MCU films that you should expect. If you have your hopes up for something else, then don't expect Quantumania to feel fulfilling, but I'd add to not expect any MCU release at this point to change your mind. You're either in it for the long haul at this point or be prepared to start backing out.
As far as the steelbook goes, this is a fun, eye-popping design & Best Buy's deal to carry these continues to reap dividends! Keep up the great work!

Another steel book for the collection. The artwork is fantastic as usual.
As with all all marvel movies (and movies in general) the sequels tend to be lacking, but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and would recommend both the movie and the steelbook to marvel fans and collectors alike.

A very pretty steelbook for a kind of pretty yet still not very good movie. I really enjoy the first 2 Ant-Man movies, but they went way too far away from the core aspects of those movies with this one. Kang never belonged in an Ant-Man movie, and yes they were leading up to the Quantum Realm in the last one, but Ant-Man was always a more grounded character, so going so weird did not work for this. There is so much I could say about this film, but for this review I keep this short. It was better than Thor Love and Thunder, but not by much. This was a series poor creative decisions, and while I wouldn't exactly recommend watching it, this steelbook is very pretty and I think it is still worth getting if you are a fan of the first two movies.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is definitely the weakest of the trilogy and lower tier MCU. My major issues are: the overabundance of CGI making things look meh, dropping supporting characters like Peña, T.I., and Cannavale, and the lack perspective for the shrinking/growing of Ant-Man and The Wasp. What made the first two films great is seeing Ant-Man fly through a bunch of servers or seeing a giant Pez dispenser get used as a weapon. In the Quantum Realm we vague ideas of how big/small something is, but no concrete answers. However, the steelbook looks fantastic and is a nice addition to previous MCU releases. Diehard collectors will love it, others might want to save a few bucks and pick up the regular release.

A solid, decent addition to the Ant-Man movie series. Steelbook is gorgeous, without a doubt one of the best designed inside and out.
Movie itself was good overall but had some bad dialog that could have been rewritten or deleted altogether.
Be careful with this one if you have little ones that are under 13 years of age. There is language in the movie that is offensive.
Action scenes were good throughout.
Picture and sound are phenomenal on the soundbar and Sony equipment.
Menus are good with easy selections.

One of the better Phase 4 movies

As far as the marvel movies we've gotten in Phase 4. This one was more fun to watch. Paul Rudd kills it as always, and the storyline is interesting. The whole worled they made for this is beautiful and very interesting to see more of. Kathryn Newton does a great job as Cassie, even though I know some people are upset with the recast. Without spoiling anything, some CGI doesn't look good, and there's a few times where the pacing grinds to a halt. But overall a lot of fun.

The movie is great, the 4k version is just that much crisper. For all the haters the movie simply isn’t bad. It’s entertaining, well produced, well acted, and intros a major villain played amazingly by Jonathan Majors. Worth a buy at 24, let alone $10.00. The steelbook is colorful and awesome looking.

Still enjoy the Blu-ray version over streaming... I still perceive a difference in video... and sound quality! Streaming is like Hi-Rez lite.
Long live the video disc!
Oh!... and the movie was a great ride into the Quantum Realm.
One down side... I've seen this monster before... the powers that be are starting to gouge consumers who still collect discs!

I try to buy all Best Buy exclusive steelbooks, and even though i was goong to skip this one due to not being a big Ant-Man fan, i did end up picking it up. Now the only Marvel steelbook that i dont own is Wakanda Forever. As for the movie itself, it was visually beautiful, but ultimately forgettable as i was expecting. I bought it before realizing it was on Disney+ and i wish i had just watched it on that platform

I'm very impressed with this steelbook presentation for Marvel's latest Ant-Man sequel, QUANTUMANIA. Beginning with the gorgeous wraparound artwork on the front and including the choice of widescreen still on the inside of the steelbook. If you're a Marvel fan, you should absolutely get your hands on this one.

The movie itself is a pretty good movie. I would read it probably around seven somewhere above average it probably could’ve been better, but I enjoy almost every marvel movie so for me find this movie is more about collecting than anything. The steel book is a nice looking steel book and the 4K is a real nice 4K Gray for the collectors and the fans of Ant-man

Nice steelbook. The 4k transfer is the best I've seen in a long time. As far as the movie goes it does keep your interest throughout. Nothing boring here. To be honest it was like watching a B Star Wars movie & why do these big budget movies keep putting famous actors (Bill Murray) in theme. Just puts the brakes on the story.

Good movie. Decent steelbook and definitely worth it for collectors. Can’t speak highly of other recent releases from Marcel, but this one looks like they’re going back on track. Spoiler, it appears to connect with the Loki TV show continuation.

I’m not sure why this movie has been hated by so many people! I love it! It’s funny, sure, but it has some really serious and tense moments and I love it! The steelbook is so amazing and full of color! Nice glossy finish. 10/10 for me!
