Customers value the large screen size and the monitor's affordability, frequently praising the picture clarity and ease of setup. However, some users find the speakers underwhelming and the controls somewhat difficult to use. The resolution and response time also receive positive feedback. While some minor issues with the menu and buttons exist, the overall experience is considered positive by most customers.

Awesome Monitor for Gaming!

This monitor is simply amazing. I bought this specifically for Battlefield 3 and 4 that's coming out. The 2ms response time literally prevents image blur on fast paced games. For $199 bucks you cant go wrong for the price. I honestly don't know why its so cheap picture quality is better then some LED IPS monitors I have seen. The only thing I do not like is the insanely difficult menu option buttons for the monitor....I got used to them after 10-15 minutes but for a noobie it WILL be confusing.

Everything I was looking for...

I got this for my Mom because she streams television from Thailand. I didn't know much about monitors but I had my big brother there for advice. After spending a couple hours looking on Amazon for monitors in my price range, I decided to check and see what Best Buy had to offer.
My mom had been streaming on a 19' or 20' monitor and I wanted her to to have something she could see while she was sitting on the couch. She doesn't have a lot of space for extra components like speakers and stuff, I needed stuff built in.
This monitor has a great picture. The speakers are built in. It has an HDMI port - I'm not sure what its for, but my brother told me it was important. The only thing I can think of that others may complain about is there is no webcam, but that wasn't a feature I was looking for so...
Overall, my family and I were extremely please with the quality and value of this product.

As other reviewers have stated, this is a fantastic monitor for the price. No other monitor is in this price point for 5ms. Games(World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, Grim Dawn, Path of Exile) are beautiful, great colors and no issues. I would recommend this monitor to friends over other big name companies.

If you are just looking a larger screen this is great.
Speakers are So-So.
Controls buttons are under the bottom of the case and the buttons ID are black on black. Menu will time out before you find the next button to push
A simple remote control would make this a 5.

Bright Clear Economical Display with some cautions

Price point fine for a slightly larger replacement display for another vendor's, which had failed totally while viewing. Much brighter, but maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 only just sufficient for the size while I am writing software or word processing. No flicker or discolored areas. Brightness excellent and is actually is a bit more than I require, but I haven't dealt with the adjustment buttons (see below) enough to decrease it.
No problems with initial setup on Windows 7, 8, and 8.1. A newer driver is an optional Microsoft download. (Couldn't tell any difference after installing.)
Had read other reviews and now agree the buttons could hardly have been more poorly thought-out. No matter, I hardly have any need of them. But if you want usable buttons, tiny black ones that run under the black bottom edge with legends that are just raised black surfaces (and therefore totally useless) are not the thing. That odd looking thing to the right of the others is the ON lamp, as I discovered once I powered up. (Initially I had kept pressing it to get unit to power on, but finally tried the real power button, the one to its left.) However, if you just want a good display at reasonable cost, fine.
I tried the software and found it disappointing, with one "English" version still having nearly total Japanese language. And that was the only one I thought I might actually use!
Have not tried the speakers and cannot comment on them.
In short, does a fine job at being a bright, large display at a truly fair price. But that's about it.
(As to my "Recommend to a friend" choice, I wish there were a third option of "It Depends". For some friends I would certainly say Yes, but others might require a more sophisticated device.)

Looking for the most bang for my buck, I researched large monitors quite a bit and decided on this one. I have not been disappointed at all. Vivid display, easy to set up, and SOOO much better than a standard 20" monitor.

Bad experience...

Bought this monitor around mid July 2014 from Best Buy.
1st week of January 2015 the monitor started producing white screens and blank screens. February 2015 the monitor would hardly work at all.
I contacted AOC via website and was directed to a service center for RMA process. UPS was the recommended carrier by the service center, UPS wanted $200.00 to ship the monitor via 2 day so I chose the week+ shipping at $50.00 (my cost).
The service center had the monitor for a week approximately, then emailed me a UPS tracking number. I requested it be held for pickup at UPS hub.
I arrived at UPS hub to pickup package, the box had not one piece of tape affixed to secure the box for shipping. The box was open and "flapping". I took the box home, opened it to find a new replacement monitor with a scratch on the upper left portion of the screen.
I emailed the service center twice, over a week ago, no response. I emailed AOC via their website email structure, over a week ago, no response.
The faulty monitor i shipped in for RMA was in brand new condition with the wrap still protecting the screen edges and stand. Mind you, I thoroughly taped each side of the box for shipment across the country. The defective unit was about 6 months old.
The service center sent a replacement unit with a scratch on the screen, staring straight at my face, every time I use it. My OCD is getting the better of me at this point.
I'm highly disappointed and will never buy a AOC product again.
Just my experience.

I work from home and need to split my screen so that I can see both applications that I am using without straining my eyes. This screen works great. It is big enough to see both applications nicely. No eye straining and fits neatly on my desk.

I love this monitor now. It is fantastic with an online newspaper; it is actually easier to read than the real newspaper! The screen size means I can have a browser open while another program is running. It's really increased my options as to screen use.
But.....it didn't start out that way. The screen was so much brighter than my 19 inch monitor.....I worried about this. I tried adjusting the different settings, called up AOC tech support, I actually bought sunglasses in case I needed to tone down the brightness. (Opening the curtains to sunlight offsets the light from the screen.) However, I found over time I didn't need to worry about that as much. It hasn't hurt my eyes. It actually has worked out just fine.

Have used this monitor for gaming as well as general use and am very impress. Clear, sharp colors on large screen.
Set up was relatively painless--but you will want to ensure you have cables that allow full use of whatever your graphics card will output...it was only VGA in the box.

We have been using this as a second display for a MacBook Air. Works wonderfully. Only complaint would be that the box/online description does not say anything about cords that are or are not included.

I do a lot of graphics and needed to upgrade my 23" monitors. Previously purchased AOC (28") and was pleased with results. When I researched the monitor, I found they were on sale, so I purchased (2) and replaced my 21" monitor as well. Great color and response time.

Not a single issue, this is my second one and would recommend it to anyone. It is not as nice as my $500 Acer monitor, but the difference disappears when your playing, working, or cruising the internet.

This is an excellent budget-priced monitor - great for every day computing. If you need high-end color matching for photoshop, high-end gaming, etc., this might not work for you. For every day use surfing the web, playing games, Microsoft Office, etc., this does the job and more.

I originally bought two of these because they are the best priced monitors. I was questioning myself because they are AOC, but they lived up to being an amazing monitor. I returned one because they were really big and one twenty-seven inch works perfectly. They also have AOC software were you can split your monitor into four screens. Keep in mind, its not four individual start screens or like hooking up four monitors. They just make it so you can drag and drop the screen into four sections, three sections, etc.. I did notice that it did not work with all applications, but majority. Web browsers and microsoft programs worked well. I would suggest this monitor to EVERYONE!
