Absolute tripe. Being a Vietnam veteran myself I can give you the names of better movies. Go Tell The Spartans , We Were Soldiers, Platoon and Full Metal Jacket. This film had a carnival atmosphere and the only thing holding it together Wes Martin Sheen’s acting. Marlon Brando was way overrated.

High Marks for Full Color Saturation of all film Elements and we won't forget the Packaging, First Rate! This film is the One To Get! 6 Discs Apocalypse Now Final Cut 4K,Original 1979, Redux Both in 4K, Apocalypse Now Final Cut Bluray, Original 1979 and Redux Bluray. And let's not forget The Special Features Bluray and Heart of Darkness A Film Makers Apocalypse Bluray. 6 Discs in all. But I Saved The Best For Last, THE PRICE! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!

You like war movies from the 70's? Well, here ya go! Awesome packaging the holds the 4KUHD Disc, a Blu-Ray and a code for the digital copy... what more do you need.

The packaging alone is exquisite, but the UHD presentation takes it to another level. Beautiful restoration, lots of great moments via HDR and the new 4K scan. Really highlights the cinematography, which is something that draws me to this movie. There are a fair amount of opticals (mostly fades) in this movie, so not every shot looks up to snuff, but overall this is a pretty revelatory new remaster. The Final Cut is pretty good. I may still be inclined to favor the theatrical cut, but the Final Cut certainly offers some of Redux's more interesting moments with an easier to swallow runtime.

Upgrade to 4K is a great way to get a new experience from this classic movie. New detail and immersive soundscape draw you right into the scenes.

There is a reason this film is on AFI's list of great films, must view for those that haven't seen it and has the best version that is available on Blu Ray. My former instructor was a 2nd unit director on this film and the stories he told us about Martin Sheen when he was in his Charlie Sheen party days when they shot this really are apparent on the screen, Mr. Sheen actually had a mild heart attack early in the shooting. Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando turn in 2 of there best performances of all time and great cameo by Sterling Hayden.

I did see this back in the day. I haven't seen it yet on either blu-ray or 4K. I bought just to add to my collection.
