Also the charger is different so the plugs I currently have are useless which means I have to drag the cord from room to room.

This was recommended in an article on best iPads for 2023. Pleased with my choice. Best Buy had a holiday discount which helped. Apple products are more expensive but I think worth the price. Phoned Apple support which walked me through set up. My most difficult choice was choosing a case. Ended up with Zugu which works well.
