Ultimately the price to performance was great and it was a no brainier to get the newest air for a little more than the normal iPad.

Can’t beat iPads

However, if it is basic iPad use the device is purchased for, then buy a cheaper iPad. I have used several iPads of different genres unfortunately for Apple they are all excellent devices. I wonder why they bother to make different specifications.
