Still learning to use my computer. It is more expensive than window computer. For the price more software should be included. We will see how reliable it is in a couple of months. Seems slower than laswt computer with graphics.

This is the best computer I have ever owned. Some people think that $1199 is a lot to shell out for a computer, but once you use one, you understand why it is that much. The performance is great. I have a Mid 2010 base, and my only regret is not getting a better graphics card. My computer has 256MB of Video ram, but Apple has since upgraded the standard model's to 512. I don't game, but for the games that I have played 256MB seems to be just about enough, though it won't run the larger games on high settings. My favorite thing about this computer is the design. It is in my opinion, the most beautiful computer on the market, and everybody who's seen it seems to agree with me. I love that it only has one cord because it keeps my desktop clean and uncluttered, though this does mean the mouse and keyboard need batteries. You can buy a corded mouse and keyboard, but they are the same price as the wireless ones. OSX Lion is fast and stunning, and OSX in general has never given me any problem. The quality from the speakers is great, especially when compared to other computer's built in speakers. This was my first Mac, and I have since become such an Apple advocate that I am probably what the PC guys call an "Apple Fanboy", and I have no problem being one. I am going to say goodbye to my Windows laptop too, and will be buying a 2012 MacBook Pro.

    Bye Bye PC...Hello iMac!!!

I have been a PC since 1998 and finally made the conversion to Mac. I would consider myself just above average in computer skills. All I can say is why I waited so long to go to Mac. Right out of the box, my iMac was set up on my network and was connected to the internet within 10 minutes. I have a wireless router but also doing powerline networking for the speed. The iMac had no issue with the hardwire connection and the iMac was able to connect to my wireless network within seconds after I entered my password. I wonder if there will be a use for hardwire and wireless connection at the same time, because the iMac was showing both connected and running. Needless to say, I turned off the wireless. I was able to move my iTunes files from my PC to the iMac through the use of my external harddrive and downloaded the file to my iMac with no problem. The setting up email on the iMac was a breeze. Just give the iMac your user ID email account and password and hit enter. It does the rest. Within a minute, I was pulling emails from 3 of my emails account on the iMac. Next, I was able to set up my old PC laptop in another room and downloaded Bonjour to have my PC communicate with the printer that is currently connected to the iMac. I am planning to purchase the Airport Express to connect to the printer as a standalone. Therefore, my PC and iMac will be able to print to that printer without being connected to a PC or iMac. I download Norton for MAC with no issues. There's a few changes that I had to get familiar with the iMac OS. I had to increase the font size on the iMac since it's default is fairly small. Also, the window in Mac does not go full screen like the PC, which is a good thing. You don't have large area of wasted space on the left or right of the screen. What really surprise me is that I no longer have to defragment or do clean disc anymore with the iMac. The harddrive is 500 GB. After my iTunes music file (approx 7 GB), photo files (2000+ pictures), movie files, and Norton Security, my harddrive is at 477 GB. What a pleasant surprise that was! I am so use to MS Window eating up all of my HD space. The speed of the iMac is fast. The quad core Intel i5 can handle a lot with no sense of drag. The screen is clearr, sharp, and bright. I have brightness set at around 45%. The iMac has 4GB (2 X 2GB) of RAM. There are 2 additional empty slots. I am going to get two 4GB of Ram to fill the 2 empty slot to bring a total of 12 GB of RAM for now. It is fairly easy to upgrade yourself. Just loosen 3 screws on the bottom of the screen just below the Apple icon and pull the two tabs to expose the 2 RAM and 2 additional empty slots. I think I will eventually max the RAM to 16GB in the future. Overall, the iMac is AWESOME! I only wish that Apple makes a wireless 10-key keyboard. Going have to buy the wired Apple 10-key keyboard.

    Best Computer Ever

Like alot of people i have been a pc user my whole life. I played around with an ipad2 for a couple of weeks and really liked that. My 2+ year old gateway was on its last leg when i deceided to buy the IMac, this is the best computer i have ever had. No problems what so ever. It has taken a little time to get use to it, but it did not take long. I would consider myself some what tech savy. The only thing i have come across is adobe reader, it works on most everything but there is a few things it wont open, which is not a big deal. Very fast and efficient, i would recomend this to anyone looking for a new computer. I will never go back to a PC. Buying a new one every couple of years is for the birds. I went out to the apple web site and bought the apple care, which i highly recommend. I could not believe how easy it was to set up, it just blew my mind, monitor is as clear as a bell and the speakers are great. Great job apple (steve Jobs)

I had decided to hold off to pick up a new Mac until the new models were released. This is my first Mac, so I am a little nervous. So far I am nothing but impressed. Out of the box the setup was all of 10 minuets, which to me is amazing. So far everything I have tried to do has been no problem, the system is very easy to navigate. The computer itself is smoking fast, and the screen is perfect. If you are looking for a great machine, take a look at this machine, I couldn't be happier!

So nice to come to Apple!

I will say that I have been a Apple fan for years, but have not had one for about five years. When I got married, I sold mine. My wife and I decided to get a new computer, because our Windows machine was out of date and laggy. We went to look at the Windows all in one's and I convinced her to try the iMac. She was a little apprehensive because she hadn't ever used one. Needless to say, she fell in love with it and I fell back in love. You take it out of the box and there is the computer, the wireless keyboard and the wireless mouse. You plug it into the wall, turn it on and you're done. Wow, the easiest setup ever. No clutter, no muss, no fuss. It has the i5 processor and 4 gigs of RAM. This thing is fast! It's, no joke, 20 times faster than our old machine and the screen is simply stunning. I loved to play Starcraft II on our Windows machine, but no matter how much RAM I added and how much I upgraded the video memory, it just ran slow. It runs WAAAAAYYYY better on this machine. I can actually turn it up on HIGH in the graphics settings with about 35 - 40 frames per second. I like to edit home videos of our kids. iMovie is slick and easy to use and iDVD gives you a pro looking end product without even trying. I have done video on other machines before, even other Apple Computers. I'm amazed how fast this machine adds effects, crossfades and audio edits. The DVD drive burns dual layer DVD's which is nice too. Our digital camera and HD video camera use SD cards, so the SD card reader on the side is a huge bonus. I am a musician, so I intend to use this for music recording. I like Garage Band for it's ease of use, but will probably upgrade to Apple's Logic for it's flexibility and powerful editing tools. All in all, this is a great machine. It's more than enough for what we are using it for now, and it has enough expandability and connectivity to last us for years. I'm very happy to be back in the Apple family.

My only gripe about this computer is the price. It's a little pricey but in the end, it's worth every penny I suppose. I've used PC's my whole life and decided to switch over and I'm glad that I did. Everything is so easy to use and it seems to be pretty streamlined throughout the whole computer. You won't be disappointed with a machine like this, it's quick and efficient. If you're coming from PC's, it's going to take a little bit of a learning curve to get used to but in all, it's fantastic.

PROS: The quality of the computer is amazing! The machined aluminum housing for the computer and keyboard gives the computer a high end look and feel. The glass computer monitor is great. I have not had any reflection issues, even in a well lit home office, although I could see how having windows in the background could create a reflection. The mouse is really cool, but takes a little getting used to. The wireless keyboard and mouse are handy. The image quality is first rate. The computer is whisper quiet and very quick. The built in WiFi is great and I love the security that an Apple offers. The memory expansion slots are conveniently located and easy to access, making adding memory a snap. CONS -The keyboard is too small and does not have a 10 key number pad, home or end key on it. Also it is annoying that you have to hold down the function key to delete a word or sentence from the beginning because the keyboard automatically defaults to deleting from the end of a word or sentence. You also have to hold down the alt key to move to the beginning or end of a word, also mildly annoying. -The internal speakers have decent sound, but lack the ability to play the rich lows in music. -No Blu-ray player available. -USB ports are on back of the monitor making it inconvenient to plug in my iPhone and iPod touch. SUMMARY This computer is easily the finest in both quality and features that I have owned. Once I became accustomed to the operating system it became easy to navigate. Unless I have reliability issues with the computer, which I have not heard has been a problem, I will not go back to a Windows based computer. I love everything about the computer except the few minor complaints I listed above. I do not regret my purchase in the slightest.

    Best desktop ever!

Its been a while I used a desktop, been using a laptop for a while, but there are certain things that you need a proper table and chair and a large screen, like doing your budget or updating your website or photo-shopping your vacation pictures #justsaying. Went to Best Buy and picked up this baby, everything is just so easy about this Mac from packaging to installation to writing your first blog on this beauty is just a breeze. Pros: 1. Powerful 2. Elegant 3. Fast Boot up and shut down 4. Overall snappy performance 5. Bright crisp and colorful screen Cons: Lack of ports (HDMI in) USB ports on the back only (would prefer a couple on the side maybe) The addition of thunderbolt is cool, but other systems even less expensive ones offer a plethora of ports, no I am not talking about out dated VGA/Serial/LPT or such but an HDMI in/out, I mean I would so much like to hook up my PS3 to the gorgeous screen sometime. Other than that I just love my all new iMac and yeah to even sweeten the deal, Apple even offers a free upgrade to the latest OS X Lion (OTB it still ships with Snow Leopard). Oh BTW I am not an Apple fanboy, I despise the iOS devices and an ardent Android supporter.

I've had four HP computers over the last 15 years or so. I will never go back to the PC world. This computer was an absolute breeze to set up. It found my wireless in seconds and setup automatically. Within three minutes I was up and running. The IMAC is lightning fast. The screen is a great size. I can not believe the sound off the computer.I initially bought a larger keyboard for 49.99 thinking I would need it. I never even opened it, the keyboard is very easy to get used to. I feel the price is fantastic since four years ago my HP was 1500. . Very happy with this purchase.

Great computer. Wireless, speed, ease of use are all positives. The transition from Windows has been occasionally rocky. Although this is superior, Windows did have some advantages. Also, a very sleek looking machine. I've adjusted to the keyboard but I really would like a number pad. Overall, a positive experience. RRNoles

I purchased one of the first iMacs and now upgraded to the new iMac v.7. I love the speed and large screen. It will take a while to learn all the new features. No book comes with it. I was disappointed in the mini keyboard. I used the number pad a lot and that was eliminated. I used a trackball so I am trying to get used to using the mouse. The trackpad is a fancy gadget but I find I will need a lot of practice to get the hang of it. I'm not used to pages going sideways. To click and drag is a real problem for me. I used to play some pc games that I seem to be locked out of now. Overall, I am pleased with it.

I had been an Apple hold-out for years because I don't like the "you have to buy our stuff and use our stuff" monopoly. My friend has a MacBook and recommended it saying "you'll get over that real quick once you start using it." I was in Best Buy with the guy climbing the ladder to get the MacBook when the screen on this caught me. Just a screen bigger than my first color t. v. and an electric cord! I took it out of the box, plugged it in, it recognized my router, and I was on the internet in ten minutes after getting home. Later I went onto HULU, turned the screen around to face my couch and laid there watching old t.v. shows. It comes with so many cool features, I just wish they had better instructions or step by step manuals built in. I don't like that I can't play my music from my thumb drive that was compatible with media player because the only thing Apple recognizes is ITunes and it does not support my music.

Absolutely love this machine! This is my first iMac and I am quite impressed. After a month of use I am ditching Windows completely for Mac. The ease and power of Mac's OS makes Windows look like a total cluster f**k. The slim and modern form factor takes up such a small footprint on my desk that I am able to have another 22" LCD attached as an extended monitor by use of the Thunderbolt MinidisplayPort. The screen is crisp and just sleek as hell. I definitely recommend splurging on the Magic Trackpad to take advantage of the new OS Lion.
