After my HP PC literally blew up, I decided to make the switch to a Mac. I couldn't be more pleased with my decision. It starts up quickly, responds quickly and has been perfect. The Office Suite for Mac opens all of my old files and they look great on the 21.5" HD screen. Finder is easily superior to Explorer and the system that the Macs use to store files is so efficient that my desktop is completely empty. My PC's were always cluttered by day two. For anyone who's worried about moving to a Mac from a PC, don't be. I hand't used a Mac in over 20 years and I was up and running in no time at all. I've only had it for three weeks but I can't imagine being without it. I never say never, but as of now, I would buy another Mac in a minute and don't ever intend to buy another PC. Physically, the iMac is compact, sleek and stylish. The only thing it lacks is a HDMI output but an Apple TV (my next purchase) will eliminate that problem.

I loving working on this machine since I got it 3 months ago. I am using Parallel Desktop which allows to use both Mac's and Microsoft's programs simultaneously. Performance might slows down a little bit, so adding more Ram form Apple store for $200 bucks would be a great idea to solve my problem.

Like a few other reviewers, I had been using Windows for quite a long time. For about the last three years I was using an Alienware Area 51 laptop. I had frequently seen Macs around college campuses and had thought about getting one for years. I'm very glad that I finally did! Compared to what you pay for a PC like Alienware, I believe the cost of this iMac was very reasonable. Switching was fairly easy, and I am absolutely loving this machine for a variety of reasons. For example, I recently removed a program by dragging it from the application folder to the trash can. That was it...seriously. No worries about orphaned files or stranded registry entries left behind. It seems like I keep discovering more to like about this Mac every single day. Also, an upgrade to the Snow Leopard OS (Lion) will be released in July and I just found out that it's a free upgrade for me based on when I bought this. Nice. But even if I wasn't getting it free, compare Apple's $29.99 price to the cost of a Windows OS upgrade. If you have been thinking about trying a Mac for a while, and this type of computer would fit your lifestyle, do yourself a favor and don't wait as long as I did. You can use Best Buy's return period (and/or a program called Boot Camp) as a safety net, but after having this iMac for twelve days I honestly can't imagine ever going back. If you do decide to take the plunge, let me be the first to say (as I was told in a different forum), "Congrats and welcome to the Mac family!"

I purchased the iMac to consolidate my PC and Mac laptops, and simplify backup of my iPhone and iPad. I love the iMac, super easy setup and performs very well multi-tasking. I'm a very happy user!!!

I really do not know why it took me so long to purchase and Apple, but I finally did and it's a whole new world! Now all I need to figure out is Apples version of paint lol. My old laptops/computers would be such a hassle trying to set up with my wireless router, the apple picked it right up. I did not have to go through an hours worth of set up, just turn it on, create a user name & pass word and I was good to go. I did save $150 the day after thanksgiving - I was told Apple never goes on sale so I knew that day I better buy one! Very Happy Customer!

Got theiPad2 a while back and loved it. Read Steve Jobs book and realized how he is a genius. Decided that the next computer would be an Apple. Got a good deal on this one, easy set up, easy to work, etc. iPhone will be next. Here's hoping that even after Jobs' death, the company still makes outstanding products.

I've only had it about a month and so far I'm very pleased. Being as it is an IMac the price was tad more for the same specs versus a Windows based PC. However I do no regret spending the extra and lets hope the reliability is worth it!

I absolutely think this is an awesome buy! This is my first iMac computer that I have ever purchased. Like the magic mouse and ultra light wireless keyboard. Has pleanty of memory and can upgrade. Easy to home share stuff with my iPad.. Also even though I don't have an air print printer I can still print wirelessly, and not thought a print server or anything like that. Good sound quality also. It was easy to setup and also easy to setup another user too. Setting up email was also simple and fast. Also it come with some nice apps too.

I have had my iMac for over a month now, the one thing I wonder about is why i waited so long to switch from a PC! Very rapid start up and shut down, excellent graphics, the lack of a tower means saving a lot of space! To me this machine is well worth the money over the cost of a PC based computer.

It took me 6months to decide I wanted this computer. Best Buy has the best price currently so I checked online for availability and headed to the store. Sales staff was eager, but informed me that they had no new models of this iMac in stock. Instead they offered a darn good deal for an open box one. I really saved a bundled, but had I known the truth I would have never purchased an open box item. Sales staff stated that it has the original factory warrantee and was in like new factory condition. None of those statements were true. When I unboxed my iMac it was pristine and flawless just as I expected, but it had another customers personalized OS on it. I knew then that this experience would not be ideal. I immediately called apple support whom informed me that this iMac was already registered to someone else, that 3 months of the warranty was gone and I only had a couple days of phone support left. I was troubled to say the least. Once I explained what happened and how I was mislead by Best Buy sales staff and that I wanted a new un-opened iMac, the apple support team went way beyond their duty and made everything RIGHT. Sure I saved quite a bit on buying an open box item, but had I been told the truth I would have gladly paid full retail. When everything is said and done, I think my experience would have been better had I purchased from an Apple Retail Store. That said, Best Buy does have the best price I could find for this model at this time and if you steer clear of any open box deals, you will do fine at Best Buy.

This was the best purchase I've made since buying a car. I was a bit hesitant because of the price but I havent looked back. I've owned a few pc's but this apple tops them by far.

This Apple iMac is Awesome. The Best Buy employees helped me with every question I had and the student discount was twice what Apple gives. This was the best purchase I have made this year :) I had no trouble installing additional ram memory and now when I make videos for my youtube channel ipodjedi I will be able to make the videos even better. Never owned a Mac except my IPhone - this is a great toy with amazing graphics and speed. Would have bought the bigger model but didn't want to take out a second mortgage

I have no complaints about this product. 1st Apple computer I have purchased and don't regret it one bit. Bye bye to Windows PC. If you are a new time user for Mac you do need some time learning how to use it & know its commands but I love it. Works flawlessly. The only thing i got that was bad were dead batteries in my new keyboard. I understand somethings can come defective and good thing it was just the batteries.

was in the local bestbuy buying a refrigerator. Saw this on sale as a open item. It was a deal I couldn't pass up. Carries the same manufacture warranty as a new unopened box item. This iMac is more powerful than the old desktop computer and takes up less space. Setting it up was a breeze. So easy to use.

i am a long time pc user like many of you and i had recently switched to the new imac and i gotta say what a difference. the beauty of this imac and the ammount of power that they give you for price. its so much easyer to use right out of the box and easy to operate. i think at this point i will never go back to pc again. apple customer for life. i also own an iphone 4 and ipad 2. also great products.

I cannot believe I have waited all these years to buy a mac, and I do not regret it one bit. This bad boy is so smooth, it is fast, quiet, sleek and did I mention fast? I bought for graphic design and animation purposes to use in conjunction with my Wacom Cintiq 21ux and this is perfect. It runs all my design programs with graceful ease. It doesn't take up a lot of room at all and it makes a wonderful desktop. All I can say is just get one because you will not be sorry.

Been a PC user forever. Was never really happy with them, kind of always felt like whatever i was trying to do somehow just wouldn't work. Well that feeling is now gone, wish i switched over sooner...the iMac is really easy and simple to use. very happy with purchase!
