I was stupid and changed the wifi network name during the syncing process (which you SHOULDN'T do!!!) and caused a glitch during the first back-up. I tried to fix the problem myself, but that was useless. I called Geek Squad, and they took control of my computer from their remote access--fixed the glitch within an hour. They also were able to answer ALL of my questions. I really don't think you'll have the same problem (or any problem) as long as you're patient and let the airport do it's thing. I'm not very impulsive when it comes to purchasing pricier technology, but I NEVER gave this buy a second thought. I'm writing a book and would CUT A FOOL if anything were to happen and I were to lose my files. I never worry about that happening with this product. Also, there's a fun function where you can have a main network and a guest network--so you don't have to give friends your network password. I know this isn't a new thing, but it's the first time I've owned something that does that--feels pretty cool. AND it was super easy to hook up my printer so I can print wirelessly now. Helps me be more mobile in my home office :) WORTH THE MONEY!!!

The set up is simple and works seemlessly with apple products to provide a central back up for all of my phones, laptops and desktops. Love it!!

Easiest network set up I've seen. Logical interface. Fast backups and wifi connection.

I purchased the product just because it was "Apple", as usual they are very reliable, simple to use and the best, the speeds are close to 90MBPS for a 100MBPS Ethernet connection, while I used to get 60-70MBPS with other products (for the same price). They are easy to use, just 1 time set up and it hardly takes 5 min.. Go for it, if you are looking for simple, reliable product.

Backs my Mac up everyday, Time Capsule software is far beyond anything for restoring from backup. And can be used as a wireless external HD on all my Mac devices.

I purchased this to replace an old router. Setup was easy both for wifi and the backup for my Mac Book Air. I also think I have an increase in wifi range.

I have experienced routers in the past mainly netgear they worked great but required a lot of manual updates and the connectivity was hit or miss as well as any Comcast gateway or modem. I've been on the fence about the apple router since most of my devices are Apple and months and years of research and reading reviews on routers I needed something strong enough to connect all my devices including 2 smart TVs and 3 gaming systems phones tablets Apple TV and a wireless printer I finally got one this device works like a charm. Not having to reset it due to connectivity issues and all my devices have a strong signal and connect seamlessly, I suggest getting the 2-3tb time capsule if you want to save any valuable info from an iMac or MacBook that might be lost if they crash or go out given the fact that they don't backup to iCloud, and make it an easy transition to a future upgrade. Glad I got it and I caught it on sale saying that anything Apple will have you shell out a few bucks, but money well spent Apple always delivers with the latest tech and quality design, best router I've owned so far so sad to find out that Apple will no longer make anymore routers. Will highly recommend to anyone even if you don't own any Apple products overall great from hardware to software and design.

Despite the price, it is the easiest way to setup Time Machine backups for any of your Apple Macs. Just plug it in and connect an ethernet cable and it automatically shows up on your Mac’s Time Machine. You can back up all your Macs to one place using your wifi. Setting it up for as a wifi spot might take some effort but still pretty easy if you follow the instruction book.

I wanted the Apple Airport Time Capsule so I could back up all my pictures from my Mac. It can back up more than one computer as well and it does everything wirelessly! I can't believe that this thing not only does that on its own but it also made my computer, Iphone, and my Ipad SUPER FAST! The WI-FI is amazingly fast!!! I did not realize that it was going to make such a huge difference. I have had this for over a month now and you would never even know it is backing up. Its quiet and does its job perfectly! A+++ Apple! This product is amazing! Easy set up too!

We initially purchased Apple's Time Capsule primarily because of its large storage/back-up capabilities, however, the added bonus of now using it as our Wi-Fi base station has proven equally impressive. We eliminated our previously monthly leased modem/router from the phone company and replaced it with a very inexpensive ($49) Netgear Modem from Best Buy and linked it with the Apple Time Capsule. Right from the moment of first plugging in the Time Capsule, all of our other wireless devices are now able to log on to the internet flawlessly and even faster than before.

Works great as a router. Greater range than earlier models. Works from basement to second floor. Also doubles as a wireless backup hard drive with Time Machine.

Not only does this provide a great backup device but it increases speed of wi-fi.
