My plan was to just buy a new external hard drive, and then I was shown this. It was twice what I wanted to spend, but when I considered how I needed to replace my router anyway, I figured I'd give it a shot. It took a few tries to get it up and running, but once I finally got every device talking to one another, it worked great. All my extraneous files are now stored off my Macbook Pro, and are safely in the tower, as I call it. One pleasant surprise is how much quicker I seem to get online now. Before I used to wait for up to a minute before my laptop communicated with my old router and actually had me online. Now I seem to surfing in under 5 seconds almost every time. It certainly makes a difference when I just need to do one quick thing before leaving the house. All in all, if you run a mostly Mac setup, it's kind of a no brainer.

This is the best router I have ever owned (probably have owned 6 to 10 since they came out). The signal strength is superb. With my old Media Link router (802.11 a/b/c/g/n) I needed a signal booster to reach all parts of my 2400 sqft apartment, but with this Apple router, I don't need the router and I get full strength everywhere. Probably due to the directional smart beam technology. Also it is super reliable. With my prior routers, I would find myself rebooting every few weeks or so as signal strength died or weakened. With the Apple router, I have not yet had to do it (I have owned it 2 months so far). Obviously the 2TB built in storage for Time Capsule is great, and can be used as extra network storage, but I am cautioned by Apple people that this shouldn't be relied on for every day storage since it was not designed for that. My only issue is that the USB slot is only USB 2.0. Why not include a USB 3.0 slot so I can attach an external hard drive and use it as a super fast network drive? USB 2.0 is too slow to go over the network for much of my purposes.

We have had the linksys router prior to this. Still learning the apple line but working good as of now.

It's "legit." Definitely lives up to spec. Cool Backup tower with High-speed WiFi transmitter no doubt!

While the new Time Capsule is aesthetically a step backwards for Apple, its internal features are much better than its predecessor's. Time Machine backups are fast. Network speeds between devices are also fast and reliable. My only issue is with the mounting of hard drives. I have an external drive attached to the Time Capsule via USB, and it randomly disconnects from the network. I usually have to restart my Mac a few times in order to mount the USB drive again.

Easy set up out of the box and makes backing up my Macs a breeze.

Apple Airport has made my life easier for back up. Plus increased wifi quality. Thank You Apple Team.

Wi-Fi works seamlessly with all of my Apple products and offers a great way to back up my computers.

Replaced a similar NetGear Router. Slight improvement in performance. Easier to set up and has built in storage.

This product does so many crucial jobs, it's really amazing. You get a wifi station, a giant hard drive as well as an alternative to backup your work. We purchased it so we could access files from home. It's beautifully designed in every way. I don't write long reviews, I just call them as I see them.

Haven't needed to restore a back up yet but it was easy to set up and seems to be effectively backing up all our Apple devices. Occasionally requires a reboot by unplugging the power cord but that's probably due to our crappy bandwidth.

If you happen to have an apple ecosystem, iphones, ipads, macs , this is a great buy. Wifi speeds with AC capabilities are unmatched and everything about it just works. Backups, setup, etc

The air port time capsule is billed as a having speedy wifi, backup, and wireless storage. The ac wifi is nice, but the remote access to your data is hit or miss. I placed the time capsule out of the cabinet and into the open as recommended and it still is slow to access, or fails to access occasionally. Probably would have been better getting a router and usb drive.

Easy to setup..totally automatic..great product. recognized Apple MacBook, iPhones and printer.

Solid product and would recommend for worry free wireless backup of Apple iMac and IPad Air 2.

Connectivity and performance are a nice upgrade over the previous model. Range is improved as well
