My IPad 3 from 2012 recently died. We used it everyday for many hours a day for 6 full years. My husband and I share it; I use it more than he does. We were waiting for the IPad Pro 10.5” to go on sale, but when I saw the IPad 5 go on sale, and after some research, I decided to go for the IPad 5 9.7”. I am very pleased with it. I am sure the IPad Pro 10.5” is great, but for almost half the price, this IPad 5 (that I am using to write this review) is perfect for us. It is faster than my old IPad 3, the size is fine, and I LOVE IOS 11. GREAT IPAD!!!

Very fast, tons of storage, looks beautiful, love the size, and it's an iPad for a great price! Way way faster than the iPad Mini 2 that it replaced. If you're looking to upgrade from an iPad Mini, DO IT!

This IPAD with more memory and faster processor speed is excellent. Its camera is far better and higher resolution and takes excellent pictures. I think I am ready for my next level purchase.

I purchased this ipad because it has a lot of storage for a great price! I'm a great fan of Apple products and this did not disappoint! It is easy to use and has a great feel to it! The speed is great!

The perfect companion to take with you everywhere. Screen size is large enough for everyday use but small enough to be easily portable! It has a great screen display and is perfect for keeping track of everything to organize your life and entertain you with social media and games ...the perfect companion!

the wife is all apple, I'm all android (brand agnostic, but sticking to Samsung for the last couple of years). she's got all i-stuff... watch, phone, tablet and a desktop. she'd like a macbook air laptop... I say she can buy it herself if she so wishes. she's been nagging me for a new ipad for a couple of months, Christmas was a great opportunity to gift this to her. I have no patience or appreciation for Apple. I'm writing this review from my 10 year old laptop... it takes a couple of minutes to boot up, but then it keeps going. While at work I'm on my third computer (Mac mini) because you can't upgrade them once they start to become "obsolete".... I work in operations management, the most that computer deals with are spreadsheets and outlook, so I would never buy that for my own personal use. that being said... I've seen the wife struggle with icloud nonsense issues, non-compatible websites on the ipad, and recently her phone was throttled to the point that she had 2 phones exchanged (thank you t-mobile!) until finally changed to a plus version of the phone she has. I've only had to upgrade my android phones when the hardware really became a limitation. anyway, the tablet is fast, works great for the wife, and faster than her previous one which now hbas been donated to our son. if you have the money and love apple, go for it, otherwise I'd stick to windows machines for the heavy lifting, and android devices for tablets, phones and wearables.

I was really only looking to replace my Mini with another Mini, but the price on this 9.7 was better than the Mini. It’s not quite as easy to store as the Mini, but I really like this one because I paired it with the Logitech keyboard and I use it as a mini laptop. I have been very happy with it.

This iPad has a great screen and is useful for both business use as well as personal use. Our previous iPad lasted 7 years, so we are looking forward to another 7!

Needed something to keep my daughter preoccupied as well as start her early on technology. She grasped the concept of swiping and other gestures to control intuitively. Resolution is amazing. Movies are crystal clear when viewing. Facetime cameras are so clear and pictures come out tack sharp.

We have got to the point in life that we really depend on our iPads to keep us up to date on family and friends and all current events. We use it to pay bills and to look at the weather and find out when we can see the ISS pass by. I know I could live without it but I sure would hate to try.

For years I've stayed with android for computer, tablet and phone because I thought it would make syncing mail, contacts, and calendar easier. After struggling with my Samsung tablet for at least a year (constant freezing, inability to use the sd card, and unable to sync calendar because Samsung wants everyone to use google calendar and not outlook) I took the plunge and purchased the Apple Ipad, gen 5, and I couldn't be happier. Outlook even works smoother on the Ipad than on my android device. No more freezing issues, and now have plenty of room for apps, photos, etc. Will seriously consider moving to all Apple products as so many of my friends have already done.

I purchased this to replace an aging 16Gb iPad. Though it's a bit thicker than the old one, it's still very light. Performance is great, and having the additional storage is awesome.

I already had the iPad Pro for myself but the wife needed to get away from window and move into a much more stable tablet via the latest iPad. Since I got it for her I have not had to take my time to fix it like I did with her windows based tablet. It works great and the screen looks great!

I finally replaced my iPad 2 with the new model iPad. My 2nd generation iPad served me well but I kept running out of space. I would have gotten the mini but in the winter I use my iPad when I have to use a treadmill instead of walking outside, and my old eyes need the larger screen,lol!

After holding off a long time, I upgraded to an iPad pro.Glad I did. Super fast, beautiful screen, great sound, good battery. I watch Netflix, Prime, and now the NBA on the iPad.

I am enjoying my iPad. It is a great tool. I am using it for various projects and it is lightweight and convenient. I love my color and I have enough memory.

Although, I bought this as a gift for someone. I find the ease of use is better than most Android tablets, and phones. With the ipad you are able to adjust the touch screen’s sensitivity, where most Android tablets you can’t. Furthermore, Apple products performance doesn’t seem to be affected after installing anti malware apps such as Norton. Whereas, Androids have lag while surfing the web. There are other perks, but I am unable to list them all. If you want a good tablet, I recommend getting an ipad.

My wife and I both have been using iPad Minis for the past several years and we love them. However, my eyesight is not nearly what it once was and I needed something a bit larger, without being too heavy to hold for long periods of time. I found the iPad 2017 to fill the bill very well! The display is larger and a higher resolution than my mini. The sound quality is awesome with the placement of the two speakers. I went with the 128 GB model and have plenty of storage. I highly recommend the iPad 2017 to anyone not wanting to spend the money for an iPad Pro, but wanting to upgrade and enjoy the newer technology. I am thoroughly enjoying my new iPad!

I bought this for my mother in law who is a technology teacher. She loves it and uses it every day. I have the same model so I can speak from experience. Build quality is good but definately a step down from the Air 2 which this replaced. The specs are basically the same but the screen just feels plasticity. I think this where the quality had to change to get it to this price point. Battery life is good. You will get about 8 hours maybe 9 if you turn off some services. Bluetooth is solid along with WiFi. Spring for the 128gb version. While everything is cloud based it never hurts to have that security of available storage.

This is a great entry level iPad and an excellent price point. Bought for my mom and it can replace her needs for a laptop. Only issue is getting my parents used to the cloud and figuring out what to do about picture storage. Otherwise a great price and laptop replacement for them.
