I bought this to replace a first generation Amazon Kindle fire. It took a few days to get use to the difference between how apps work on the Ipad but was worth the time. I like the communication app face time. It allows me to see and hear my son stationed in Kuwaite. I hope that the Ipad will not become obsolete as the Kindle did. I expect it will not because of upgrades to the operating system. Also, the difference in the display is very noticable.

Received product lather than expected but it was packed and shipped appropriately. Not a fan of Apple but bought it as an anniversary gift for wife with a MAC & IPHONE already. Dood Day

Bought this as a gift for my husband. I have an old iPad. In comparison, the retina screen is worth the extra $100 and you don't really give up a lot for the smaller size. I use it to read papers sometimes, play games and look at the internet. Although Apple products are expensive, it's worth it to have everything (music, calendar) all integrated between devices.
