It has a retina screen, is much faster at downloading my email than my computer, especially since it turns on instantly. It has a couple of quirky habits. For example when I use it to control Netfix on my TV it automatically plays the next program in a series which is fine unless you want to stop watching. The screen where you can click "stop watching" disappears and won't come back. (my android Nexus doesn't do this). Also, I don't understand why apple continues to have a button to press as opposed to a touch point on the screen. Overall a great little gadget.

Smaller and lighter than my previous iPad.

I didn't use the older iPad because it was awkward to hold and use it. I am completely satisfied with the iPad mini. It is easy to hold in my had and use at the same time.
