I find it hard to have any other apps other then a PDF user that is useful for my business. I wish there was more direction to find apps that can utilize the product to it's full potential.

Best Buy trade-in value is great! You can upgrade to newer technology for only a few dollars. Or on some items you have money in your pocket.

Bought this to travel with

I bought this to take on the road with me when I travel overseas. My first big trip is coming up soon, so we'll see if this is a good swap for a laptop. I love the size and weight- if nothing else, it will cut down on my baggage weight. It seems pretty quick, and most of my apps seem to work on it. I haven't had enough time to try everything yet, but it seems to work well.
As with all Apple products, accessories are kind of pricey... I'm glad I got this version before they changed the dock connector, so that all of my old accessories still work with it. (Unlike my iPhone 5.)
The best accessory I have purchased so far is the digital camera connection kit. I can take the SDHC memory card out of my camera, upload photos to my iPad, and post them online or email them. It is very handy.
Be sure to buy a few microfiber screen cleaning cloths, because you are going to want to wipe off the fingerprints.

I’d toyed with the idea of getting an iPad for a while, and finally I decided to get one. Now that I’d made the decision of getting one, I had to decide which mottle I wanted to get. Originally I was going to get the sixteen GB wifi one, but after talking to my best friend, she convinced me to get one that had more space. So, now I had to decide if I wanted to get the thirty-two mottle or the sixty-four mottle. After looking at the price for both of them, I decided that I was going to get the thirty-two because the sixty-four was a little too expensive for my liking. With my decision made, I applied for the Best Buy credit card. This was my second time applying for it and after getting denied for it again, I was going to use one of my other cards to buy it or at least I was going to use one of my other cards to buy it until I spoke to someone who told me the reason as to why I got denied. Anyway, long story short, I went into a Best Buy store and reapplied, and long behold, I got approved. After talking to my best friend a few days before I went into the store to reapply for a third time, she managed to convince me to spring for the sixty-four GB mottle with cellular connectivity. At first I was a little hesitant but then I started thinking about how nice it would be not to take my heavy laptop with me every time I went on a trip. With that in mind, I bought the sixty-four GB mottle with cellular connectivity. When I got home, I immediately plugged it into my computer and set it up. Of course this being an Apple product, it only took me about five minutes, maybe a little less, to complete the setup process. Once I was finished, I started playing with it. Because I’m visually impaired, I couldn’t enjoy the amazing retina display that the new generation iPad came with. For those of you who are reading this review, you’re probably thinking why I didn’t just buy the iPad two and save a few dollars. The truth is that I’m a big tech junkie and didn’t want to get something that was a bit older. Anyway, when I first got the chance to play with one at the store, I noticed that the layout of the iPad was a little different than the iPhone or the iPod. When I tapped on the app store, I noticed that the layout of that was also different. Some of the apps made for the iPad were a bit different, to. I also noticed that navigating was a little harder. For me, I had to randomly tap the screen to get whatever it is I wanted to appear on the screen. Despite those little annoyances and believe me when I say they can get annoying, this is a great product and I would highly recommend getting one of these to a friend. Oh, and I haven’t experienced the heat issue that other people have experienced.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tablet and iPad versions 1 - 3. For just about everything I do, I like the iPad better. It's just easier to use. While it is true that an Android operating system gives you more choices, I find that for most things I don't need a vast aray of set-up menus and sub-menus. If I have occasion to need that, then I'll wait until I get back to my desk top. Otherwise, the iPad is easy and it just works. And I don't have to worry about recharging it half way through a movie either. The camera is a lot better and looking at photos or watching family home movies is really fantastic. I just hope that when Adobe abandons Flash programing, that Apple can get on board with what ever replaces it. I know there are third party flash browsers for the iPad, but they are slow and mediocre at best. I still choose Apple over Android - no question!

I'm usually not one to "buy into" any sort of hype on anything, especially electronic. However, after multiple friends of mine purchased iPads (1, 2, and new) over the past couple years, and constantly raved about how great they are, I finally broke down and bought one. I didn't even play with it in the store. I just bought it and took it home. Well, in just a few simple words, "I was blown away!" Impressive screen, easy to use (I'm an iPhone user, so that helps -- but even a newbie like my 85 year old grandma could figure this thing out), and fast! Yes, I always found my iPhone 4 to be fast, but the new iPad is way ahead of it. Anyway, enough said really... you can't go wrong with this new iPad. It really is fantastic for both personal use, entertainment, and business. It's all around GREAT!

The Best Tablet On the Market, however...
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Preface:
I have used a handful of Android tablets and I would say if you are in the market for a tablet, the iPad is still the way go to. When it comes to ease of use, completeness of the OS, and maturity of the app market Apple has this in the bag. (If you are anti-Apple or want to mix it up, check out the Transformer Prime as it is by far the best Android tablet on the market). Because of that, this review is mostly going to compare the new iPad (3rd gen) with the iPad 2 and not focus on the iOS/Android argument. I am also not going to focus on whether you need a tablet because I have so heavily integrated a tablet into my life after I purchased one that I feel anybody could have a need for a tablet.
Background:
I have heavily used the original iPad, owned an iPad 2, and now have the 3rd gen iPad. I have also used the Motorola Xoom, Galaxy Tab, & Transformer Prime.
Review/Comparison:
This is the best iPad (obviously) and overall tablet on the market. Here are some points/comparisons.
-The screen is beautiful and the most gorgeous display you will see on a mobile device hands down. However, since the apps haven't been updated, they pretty much look the same. This will change with time, but just keep that in mind early adopters.
-The LTE is insanely fast (about 3 times faster than my wired AT&T U'verse DSL) and around 10 times faster than my iPad 2. However, with that data speed you will rip through your data allotment in no time. An hour of streaming NCAA basketball is a GB. Keep that in mind.
-The battery is larger, but battery life seems to be a bit less. Not by much. The battery life is heavily dependent on the screen brightness. At 50% brightness you get about 50% more battery life than at 100% brightness. Also, since the battery is larger it takes quiet a bit more time to charge.
-The bump in GPU and RAM is a little noticeable, but I feel a lot of the difference is utilized to push the display so performance is about what you would see on an iPad 2.
-Weight. Yeah it's a little heavier, but I don't really notice.
Summary:
If you are in the market for a tablet, then the iPad is the clear choice. If you own an iPad 2, then it's a bit harder to justify the update unless you are a big data user with a grandfathered iPad data plan (yes they still exist). If you are new to the tablet market or considering upgrading your original iPad then I say go with the 3rd gen, unless you are trying to save a bit of money.

Great addition to a Laptop or Desktip
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
An iPad is a good addition to a laptop or desktop it will not replace either. It is good for surfing the internet, email and has potential when paired with the right equipment to be a universal remote for a wide range of gadgets in your home. For example, with an IR emitter it can be a universal remote for every TV, DVD, ROKU, CABLE BOX. But you need that other piece of equipment or all those items would need to connect wifi to an app. There are garage door openers with apps that will tell you when you have left the garage door open and you can close it remotely, but you have to have an opener that is wifi. Same with a home security system or thermostat.
I like the iPad for travel. I can watch netflixs using their app if I have wifi. It is lighter weight than laptop. However the new ultra sleek books and mac air are the only options for MS office and other types of software, I use Printmaster and there is not an app. These programs need more resources than an iPad can provide. So if you would like to take your power point presentation with you. Put it on a thumb drive and bum a computer wherever you are going. Or you will need to drag a laptop with you. You can access files using a variety of cloud storage. I use dropbox. I can access a spreadsheet on my iPad but all I can do is scroll. No editing.
A friend has a Kindle Fire and I helped her get started using it. Compared to the Kindle Fire the iPad is much more intuitive to use. And the iPad is smoother transitions between apps. Having used both I would not consider a Kindle Fire. UNLESS all I was going to do was read books. I can't figure out for example how to upload her contacts from outlook to the Kindle Fire. I am going to have to really research how to do that. With the iPad it is automatic. All my contacts are in the cloud and that is wonderful.

Best iPad Yet. Best upgrade from iPad 1st Gen.

I had the iPad 1 64GB WiFi only. I decided to upgrade and get the flagship model. I have the 64GB WiFi + 4G. This is a zippy and clear iPad. The retina display is amazing. It really is something you need to see and touch. Most app developers are racing to update their apps to take advantage of the new screen. I would highly recommend this for 1st generation iPad users. It's a big jump. If you own an iPad 2, and you have extra cash....go get one...iPad 2's are still in demand you can probably make back 75 percent of your money on ebay.

As any iPad, but...

iPad is not a new affair anymore. I can't say that the one who had iPad 2 would be able to justify the switch to the new iPad.
1. The new one ha that nice retina display, but even though comparing to some other pads it might look stunning, it isn't twice as nice comparing to the iPad 2.
2. It is not much faster if at all and it's battery doesn't last any longer than 2.
3. But it is heavier and bit bulkier than 2 and it's running hot.
4. Still expensive.
So I think Apple could've prolonged the life of iPad 2 and give us a really much better new product. The difference is not even comparable to iPhone 4 vs 4S. I did buy it just because it is a newer product and my first iPad purchase (I played with my friend's iPad 2 extensively). If I had a 2 I'd probably stayed this one and wait for the next one for sure.

The best tablet hands down.

I'd first like to say that I am no apple fanboy. I own a maxed out Alienware M18x with 2960XM and 580M SLI. When it comes to tablets no one offers the same level of quality, GPU power, apps, seriously smooth UI, design, retina display(2048x1536), 4G LTE, dictation, customer service and ecosystem that apple provides for the new iPad. I currently own a Black 64GB 4G LTE AT&T model for 4th gen resale purposes, but only needed the 32GB model. EVERYTHING works so well together. I've owned a GT 10.1, TF201, OG Transformer, A100, iPad, iPad 2, Sony Tablet S, Kindle Fire and a Xoom. Nothing comes close to the new iPad or even an iPad 2. If you are into games then you'll feel right at home with iTunes awesome selection of games and the new iPad's quad core GPU. For business productivity, Apple also has the best selection of apps. Some android users will say that iOS is locked down. I'd rather have a locked down fully functional OS, than a laggy, buggy OS. If you are in the market for the best tablet look no further. Get an iPad!!

I upgraded from the first generation iPad to this iPad. What a difference in speed, 4G and size. I'm very happy with the mirroring to the big screen option through apple tv for the device as now my pictures and safari can be displayed through my HDTV. Awesome product!!

Great product but BestBuy screwed it up

Drove 15 miles to the only BestBuy in the area that had one so I could take advantage of a father's day special and have the unit in time for a trip. Turned it on in the store to make sure it worked but couldn't configure it there because BestBuy doesn't have WiFi like Apple stores do. Got the unit home and it would not configure! Called applecare and they said they could not help, unit would have to be returned. Didn't want to drive another 30 miles to go back to the BestBuy so went to an Apple store who helped me out and exchanged the unit. They said it was probably a return that BestBuy hadn't processed properly, making it look like an invalid serial number.
In all other ways the product was excellent. But BestBuy gets my everlasting scorn for wasting so much of my time simply because they didn't have wifi setup in the store so the unit could be tested.

Currently the best tablet on the market

Currently the best tablet out on the market for it's size and features. Apple set the bar for what others are trying to do. Hard to tell whether that will remain the case in the future but for now I think it's the best tablet out there for what it does (and I've tried out the others).

This is my 3rd iPad and it is the best one I've owned. While I'm not an Apple only guy, they do make soe cool stuff.. The best part is all my apps get to travel with me. This is really what made Microsoft so great. If you are wondering if you should buy this my advice to you is to make sure you buy one with enough space to hold your stuff!
