This is a bad deal. How can Verizon not allow you to use your 2g of data with any app? They don't want to honor the prepay and are now charging 35.00 set up for what they call mth to mth with post pay. Hotspot won't work. This is just wrong! I should have bought a straight talk iPhone for half the cost and unlimited FaceTime and hotspot.

The NEW iPad, Very Impressive, Very Addictive

If you’re a new prospect to the iPad, I encourage you to read this review.
To get the main issue out of the way, yes as mentioned, the tablet does get warm, so if your laying in bed with it sitting on your stomach, it will get uncomfortable. Place a pillow in between and your set. But you are definitely not going to get burnt. Done. Aside from this, the quality is superb. You will find many applications that will work in hand with the brilliant retina display. For entertainment or educational purpose, explore the galaxy /space applications such as Solar Walk and Wonders. They will blow you away with the vivid crisp colors enhanced for this version iPad. For business, Iworks Numbers and Pages will look elegant and will make your iPad a great business tool, also Quick OfficeHD, Evernote, Dragon Dictation and Informant HD are one of the must have apps to install. They are enhanced for the New iPad and great tools for working with documents, MS Office files, notations and organization. Games, that’s up to preference, but you can start by exploring Real Racing2 HD, Batman, X-Plane, Infinite Flight and yes Angry Birds Space. Living earth App is an exceptional alarm clock that displays the earth in an ultra high resolution of the earth, also enhanced for the New iPad which will display the earth’s clouds as they are in real life as well as show where its day and night in real world time. You will find the New iPad to operate graphic hungry apps smoothly. Battery life is as advertised and won’t disappoint. Verizon data service with the 4G, is lightning fast, impressive and you can quickly switch from using your home Wi-Fi to Verizon Data and back very fast and easy to conserve your Verizon Data usage. For protection I will highly recommend the BodyGuardz clear full body protection cover films that fit perfectly and are easily installed using the included liquid gel packets. Purchase it directly online. Bodyguardz feel is much smoother than the more rigid feel using the Zagg product Best Buy Sells which iis much more expensive than BodyGuardz. I will recommend the Zaggfolio for the New Ipad due to the excellent keyboard if offers which has received good reviews compared to others on the market. If you’re considering the 32 Gig iPad versus the 64 gig version, consider this, when I purchased the New iPad, I purchased the 32 Gig, but after buying several apps and even ordering the Zaggolio priced at $99.00, It did not take long to realize how fast you can start investing on accessories and apps for this tablet. So if I’m going to invest in something that is expensive to begin with, invest $100.00 more and get the 64 gig which will add not only the most storage available for an iPad, in the long run, since you are going to spend money on apps and accessories, budget yourself to use your money to invest in the tablet itself FIRST, then invest on the add ons. This will make sense after you find yourself realizing how much you spend money on the ITunes. I returned the iPad 32 Gig, paid the extra $100.00 and purchased the 64 Gig. Hands Down I totally recommend the New iPad and I know you will enjoy it for many years. But BE AWARE, it’s not the Warmth of the iPad you should worry about, it’s about how much money you will find yourself spending on Itune Apps. Almost all the apps are not free. IF this will be an issue, consider the Samsung Galaxy Tablet, but if your fine with it, Stick with the iPad as the apps cost you, but they are apps that are usually much better in quality than those the Google Market offers. Some Google Market apps are the same, but free, so it’s a give or take. Finally most everything is related to Apple, so if you’re going to invest in a tablet, at least purchase one you know you will be able to rely on finding accessories and support for years to come. As a note, aside from the iPad being an awesome product, it’s also an eye catcher, it will gain attention. And that should be a good thing! So try not to over protect it by hiding it within book looking protector covers when using it, with care and simply utilizing the Bodyguardz or even just an Ipad messenger bag to transport it, Show off that tablet and enjoy! Thanks for reading and hope this has helped you with your decision.

Another good product but not revolutionary

Another good product from Apple; however, was not as revolutionary as the initial iPad.
• Pros = 4g connectivity (lightning fast), beautiful screen, tremendous processing capabilities, better camera, extremely portable and user friendly
• Cons = still disappointed with inability to increase storage capacity, this product does get hotter than previous iPads
Overall, I love the new iPad (I purchased the prior 2 versions); however, I do concede that the upgrades over the iPad 2 may not be perceived as that revolutionary. If you have the iPad 2, the incremental changes may not warrant upgrading. If you have no tablet at all, this is the one to get.

I originally purchased the iPad2, 16gig. Upon the release of the New iPad, it was easy to see that the upgraded version would be necessary. I purchased the New iPad, 4g, 64gig -although I wish it had more memory. I love the retina display as it is simply dazzling. The new camera is much better than the previous versions and actually makes taking pictures on the new iPad a pleasant experience under the right lighting. I would recommend the New iPad to anyone.

If you have an Ipad 2 and was seriously considering upgrading to the Ipad 3, well think again. I traded my IPAD 2 in for $390 (829 Originally) and thought that it was a small price to pay for a newer "improved" model. I have not been overly impressed and did not feel I got my value for money in terms of feature functionality. The updated screen and camera is really nice. more clarity and detail but you would have to keep the 2 units side by side to remember how good or not so good the other one is. The updated camera is great for pictures on the go if you carry your tablet places. I did not get much use of the 4G since most places have wifi these days and I only take out my credit card and pay for the 4G when I truely in a bind with no wifi. Another feature of the new Ipad is dictation. It works great, but in public places you are unlikely to start talking to yourself :-) So I lost $439 in my trade on my Ipad 2 and had to pay another $439 for the new one.... did I feel I got more out of the unit that warranted the high cost? No! But if the screen, updated camera, 4g and dictation are must have features then this is an awesome unit!

Beautiful Screen, Speedy, Excellent Apple Quality

I had a first generation iPad and upgraded to the new iPad. The screen is beautiful, the speed of the device is so responsive. The 4G LTE is blazingly fast -,faster than most of my friend's wifi configurations. I was surprised to see the device get really warm after use. In addition, the camera was not as good as I was expecting. I was hoping that it would take better pictures, but it's deficient in low light conditions. It also offers very little features.

Too Hot For Me
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Let me just start by saying that I really love the iPad 1 and iPad 2 I had, and the new iPad does everything the previous models did so well... with a higher resolution screen, and 4G speed. I have always used my iPads all day long and have nearly replaced my desktop with the iPad.
However, the new iPad gets HOT! I have seen and heard many people say the new iPad gets warm, but mine gets HOT...so HOT that I need to turn it off because it is not comfortable to hold (in or out of a case).
This is so unfortunate because I am used to using my iPad very often, but I cannot use this one for an extended period of time.
In addition, the battery takes a very long time to charge, and a very short period of time to drain.
I know that a bigger battery is needed to power the incredible screen, etc. etc, etc, but unfortunately the heat and battery are not acceptable for me. I purchased my first new iPad on their opening day, and exchanged it two weeks later, but the new unit seems to get even hotter than the first one I purchased.
Perhaps if you never owned an iPad, this may not be a huge issue for you, but I am used to NO heat from the previous iPad models. None ever.
So unfortunately for me, the improved screen does not offset the heat and the speedy battery drain, and I am trying to locate an iPad 2 to exchange this one for, which is a difficult task.
Would I Recommend this to a Friend? No. Unless they were fully aware of exactly how hot these iPads can get, and they were okay with that. If they can handle the heat, it is awesome!

Nice upgrade from the Apple 2

This is a nice upgrade from the iPad 2. The screen resolution alone makes it worth the upgrade. It's very fast, and has a lot of great, already installed, apps to use. I read a lot of books, and the new screen is much easier on the eyes. For what I do with the iPad, I probably could have gotten by and been content with the 2, but now that I have the new iPad, I couldn't see myself going back.

I am a new Apple User and LOVE my little Ipad. It was easy to learn how to use and is a joy. It is light enough that I can carry it around. It has many efficiency features which I learned about by reading the User Manual. It's fast ... surfing and getting email is a joy. The App store has loads of free, wonderful apps such as Google Translate, Accuweather, Hopstop.

I was really annoyed they signed me up at BEST BUY for the Verizon LTE 4G service. What the Best Buy salesman didn't tell me is that they charge you a 35.00 sign up fee. I was very annoyed at this, called VERIZON and they told me TOUGH, they also run a credit check on your account, which is a TAD annoying. Just letting you know, I do like my IPAD3, losing wifi, the plug on bottom is tedious, battery short, the reason for low rating is that APPLE should have this stuff perfect by now. Just like the stupid antenna problem on the IPHONE 4, what a mess up . . .

Yes..as some of the national reviewers are saying...this iPad does get a little warm.
But it's mostly when your doing high end gaming or high end video work.
Other than that...it's as good as advertised.

I wasn't sure about how useful a tablet would be, now I'm a believer! I have traded my laptop in and plan to go to an iMac desktop and use this as my portable computing device. It's much more convenient and does almost everything my laptop could do.

After 3 Kindles I went over to the dark side....Ipads are so dang expensive but I guess you get what you pay for. I haven't had a single problem and it has met or exceeded all my expectations. I just wish that it was more affordable for my people.... I blew my tax refund on this baby and i'm still not sorry.

My favorite thing about the iPad in general is it is good for many things like school, being social, music, games, reading, and many many more. I love the ne iPad so much because of the multiple cameras, video recording, and also, but not limited too, the beautiful retina display. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DEVICE. Even for people who have never used an apple device it is extremely user friendly.
