    great sound upgrade

I just picked this up last week and it is amazing! from owning just about all the ipods from different generations this is one great upgrade to the music player family. The nano is great for on the go and running as well which is why I bought the previous 6th generation but for being an audiophile like me, I notice the sound output was junk compared to using an iphone or computer with an audio amplifier. I own a pair of Shure SE315 earphones but listening to them on the previous nano just made me feel like I wasted my money on a great pair of headphones, it could just not handle the power output for headphones that were made for professional use. Luckily, the new nano has made up for it and I can honestly tell no difference between the quality from my iphone from the nano. As for not having wifi and other such nonsense, no need to gripe about that for this is primarily for music for someone who obviously wants something light and small hence its name. Such features would be pointless for it is not logical to cram such things in something so small...guess that is why they made the ipod touch right?

    good so far

Time will tell me whether I am really happy with this product, because we had MAJOR problems with the nano 6th gen (stuck sleep/wake button THREE times :( ) We'll see if this one holds up better. Like the size better than the smaller one. Good sound, like that it holds a lot of songs and has a radio. Let's just hope it holds up better than the 6th gen (was disappointed Apple didn't stand behind those - if same issues, will not buy any more ipods, but we'll see)

This is my first iPod and I love it! It was easy to set up and iTunes is easy to use once you get through the process of downloading music a couple of times. I love the size because it's big enough to let my big fingers do the walking and yet small enough that I don't feel like I have a super computer on my arm when jogging. The battery life is great! I couldn't be happier!

    Ok Nano, Older Generations Better

    Posted .

I think this is a great nano, but I've had several nanos over the years and other generations were better. I had the 5th generation which was starting to die slowly. It lasted me 2.5 years which I thought was good since I use my iPod daily. I love the size of this iPod and the colors (I have the blue), plus the touch screen is nice but it has drawbacks. Since this nano no longer has the wheel on the front, you can only control song selection through the screen. With the wheel, I could switch between songs without looking and now I have to check the screen to make sure I'm hitting the right button. There are buttons on the side of the nano that let you control the volume and play/pause which is nice. Something other generations did was play without earbuds b/c there was a speaker built in. This nano doesn't do that. Other drawbacks include the new lighting adapter, and not the 30-pin adapter. All of my docks and cables are for the 30-pin so I had to buy an additional adapter to go from 30-pin to lighting. Plus, if you're like me and drop expensive electronics, you need to get a case and a screen protector. The iPod is expensive enough but then all the accessories add up.

Don't be fooled by the color!

    Posted .

I have owned many iPods, and none have exceeded my expectations more than this one! Don't be fooled by the picture its actually a darker blue. Not so dark like a navy blue, but not so light like sky blue. The color looks really nice and you have to see it in person! Now, on to the good stuff! The iPod itself, is like any other iPod nano, but the best parts are: the bigger screen, Bluetooth, and the colors! To start, the iPod nano has a 2.5" widescreen LCD at 240x440 pixels. That's a PPI (pixels per inch) of 220! What does that mean in plain terms? Well, it means that everything on the iPod looks bright and vibrant! The second best part is the Bluetooth. This is the first iPod nano to have some sort of wireless connectivity! So, that means you can use Bluetooth in your car and sync it up with the nano, so you can play your music in the car without wires! It's also good for things like Bluetooth headsets. The only thing is the Airlines don't let you use Bluetooth on their planes. The third thing I like about this iPod is the colors! They're sort of a pastel tone. Not too light, and not too dark. I choose the blue because it appealed to me the best! The fourth and final reason I like this iPod is video playback! As you may know, the 6th generation iPod nano had been put into a sort of "iWatch" format. Small and square. With that, you loose video playback. The 7th generation (the one you're reading a review on now! Yes you!) iPod nano has regained video playback, and with 16GB of storage, there's plenty of room! Now, on to the not so good stuff. The only thing I didn't like about this iPod was the Lighting connector. Because, all my other Apple iDevices (iPad, iPhone) have the original 30-pin connector. This may not be a problem to some, but I had to purchase a $30 adapter (Sold by Apple) so I could use my old 30-pin cables and docks. But, on the bright side, it's better than buying a whole new dock. Which can cost upwards of $100.

    First time I-anything user

Ok, first off I truly have fought the I-anything craze. I used Zune for years and it was great, but after using the Nano, I am hooked. its very easy to use, the screen resolution is excellent and the Itunes app is an easy install on my computer. I like that the Nano is very lightweight, almost to light if you can believe that. It feels like you might easily lose it and not notice it till its to late, the size is very compact but that does not diminish the screen resolution in the least. I have my Nano in an armband holder so I am not worried about losing it and it holds up well to the many hours of workouts I put it through. I make sure to air dry it after workouts and so far it is holding up well.

    Great device, except for Itunes

As always, Apple truly knows the customer when they design their product\s. They are always very easy to use, and very stylish, and ergonomically strong. About the only fault i can find with this Ipod is the requirement to sync using Itunes. That software is bloated and cumbersome. i wish Apple paid as much attention to Itunes as they did to their hardware.

    Convenient

I bought this iPod because my iPhone was full on memory from all of the music I had. The iPod is great because it's small, slim, stylish, and holds a decent amount of music. However, a major issue I ran into, was the bluetooth. The bluetooth signal it releases has been nothing but terribly crackly. And I've done tests with other electronics, and they all ran fine. This guy however, has an issue with bluetooth coming out clear. Also it would be nice to be able to access iTunes FROM the iPod itself, rather than plug into a computer. Other then that, it's a great product

    Makes a Great Gift

I bought my girlfriend one of these for her birthday because her old nano died. From what I can tell, the audio quality is good, the battery life is good. The UI is really easy to navigate and use. Honestly though, If I were buying an MP3 player for myself, I would just get a simple Sansa Clip Zip. You can put custom firmware on them and the audio quality beats out almost any Ipod, they have expandable storage, and for a fraction of the price to boot. But for a simple to use, nice small MP3 player the nano is just fine for people that don't like to tinker around with their devices.

I have had this device for maybe two to three weeks now and I love it! I saw another version and am happy with this one. I am a typical Apple fan. I use this mainly for walking on a daily basis. On the weekend when I am taking a break, I use it to enjoy my day off. With maybe fifteen gigabytes of storage space, it is more than enough to save my favorite five music discs in full quality. The item has been made with durability in mind as well. With the Apple earphones, I notice the difference in reliability between not only the price, but also the length of time it lasts. With Apple, you literally have to force a damage. Otherwise it should lasts for at least 8 years with good care. What I suggest from having a number of Apple products is to try to keep your ears from getting wet and cleaning the wax out of the ear before use often. Once the wax builds up on your earphones, it reduces sound quality and the wax gets pushed through the tiny holes and gets stuck there if not careful. The number of functionalities are just right in my humble opinion. There is a radio player for live on-air play, and there is a storage space enough for your recorded CDs, etc. I have not had too much experience with using the other options except for the photographs. I just have my one favorite picture in there. I have yet to use the video function, calorie meter, and maybe a few others. I have been using a zip-lock bag for my makeshift cover and it has worked out pretty well. I wish you take good care of it because it is a quality item in my humble opinion worth its cost. Thank you for reading my review. It seems I have completed everything. Please have a nice and enjoyable time with your iPod nano! Thank you.

I just bought the purple one, even though I like to have either pink or red in most small electronics, but its a pretty color. Very sleek, and surface is user friendly. The 16 GB is a lot of space for me, and the ability to download movies is a great plus. Although, having WIFI would have make internet shows (YouTube, etc) viewable. But still...great! This is my first Apple product (even though I have the Apple TV) and I downloaded The very best of Dire Straits from iTunes, and the sound production hrough the earpods are amazing! I didnt realize that I can burn my own first grade CDs onto my laptop and then copy it to the Nano. Well... that's what I will do now! Will be useful for my powerwalks and not use my Sony Walkman (yes I know!0 All in all I am very pleased with my first Apple purchase.

i listen to my iPod almost everyday-at the gym or at my desk. i like almost everything about this model. i really like the size. it's small enough to fit in my purse or just my pocket. love the color choices, and the sound quality is amazing. what isn't so great is the battery life. i feel like i'm always charging it, and the battery still dies so soon. i also suggest you purchase a screen protector and some kind of case given its smaller size.

Love it. Love the color, the size, and the ease of use. I want something that I can wear during a workout and an iPod touch is too big for me. This still has a touch screen, so I can see what I'm doing, without the bulk.
