    In the age of smartphones with large internal storage these days, an iPod no longer has a place in the world it seems. However, for niche uses, it serves it's purpose well. My daughter has diabetes, and we needed an inexpensive monitor to connect to wifi to send her Dexcom readings to our cell phones. For this purpose, the old iPod is perfect. Much cheaper than a cell phone, and doesn't need a phone plan to operate over wifi. Wonder if Apple will ever update this aging product, or if this will be the last iteration.
