I needed it for a car adapter and it worked great. I would get this over the one with the cable (and $10 more) unless you need the cable

If you want to convert an old style Apple plug to the new lightning style this adapter will do the trick.... A little tall but works fine.

frankly I think apple should include this adapter since I already have 2 for my original one for my ipad 2.

But it's flush to the plug which is wide and makes it hard to plug your iPhone or iPad in with the case on

I bought this product because the cable provided by my Hyundai 2012 Sonata for connecting to an iPhone did not fit the iPhone 5s. It was only when I tried to use the adapter that I found that it could not be completely inserted into a phone using the OtterBox case. Best Buy did refund my money - with an in-store gift card because it was outside the 15-day time period.

Have an ihome product with a older connection for my iPad, connector allowed me to keep the ihome product.
