I bought this item to allow my firewire phone to work with my old 30 pin alarm clock. This item didn't allow me to attach to my phone with the case on so I exchanged for the more expensive but similar item that has a few inches of cabling. That allowed me to attach my phone through the case and works to charge the phone, but the alarm clock doesn't pair with my phone. Had to miss a wake up alarm to discover that feature no longer worked. Since this was the main point of this item it was pretty much a waste of money for me. $40 effort to save a $60 alarm clock function. Not my best buy.

This product functions properly and is what we needed to connect a new iPod with an older radio. It does however appear wobbly. It has never fallen off, just seems as though it might if bumped too hard.

I love this product and use it on my Bose speaker. Although, I do wish they still had the cable version of this product. Since I have to continuously take off my phone case so it can fit. Unlike the cable version you can move your phone around freely without having to break a finger trying to maneuver it. Unfortunately it is discontinued, but glad that they still continue to make these products for any speaker device that will fit your iPhone! :) otherwise great product! Just got to work around it a little that’s all :)

This item does the job it was meant for. I just wish it had a cord or a way to make it longer. But simply reviewing the way that it is..... I have had no problems with it. It stays secure in its place.

I had to return this item and get the one with a cable. Because of the design and the fact that I have a cover on my phone the connector would not plug in. Be careful if you have a cover on your phone.

Bought this for my new iPhone 6s with an Otterbox Defender case. Wouldn't work with the case on, so I exchanged it for the longer "cord like" adapter instead. Otherwise would give this 5 stars.

Item was great for transmitting sound...unfortunately for some reason it does not charge while in use!!? I had to return it. If you’re ok with that than this is a great product.

I don't understand why Apple designed this so you have to remove your iPhone 5 from a case to use. I re.turned this product and purchased the standard lighting jack cable which is a lot easier to use.

I bought this to use in my car, the only problem is that if you have a case (I have otter case) you must take your iPod out of case before using because housing is so big for the adaptor.

Read the fine print on the side of the box. Does not work with video (which is what I bought it for). You have to buy a different lightning to hdmi adapter for video. It's fine for charging.

This adapter is an easy fix for your older 30-pin device/cord that you want to connect with a more recent Lightning device. The only drawback is lack of charging compatability so your Lightning device will rely on battery while connected to the 30-pin adapter. This ends up being a small nuisance in needing to charge your Lightning device separately, e.g., after about 2.5 hours for a Nano. Otherwise, a great product for those occasions where you have a 30-pin device or cord & want to play or connect a Lightning device.

I bought this for my iphone 5s. I have all the accessories for the iphone 4. The item is smaller then I expected but I actually like that more. It fits snugly. It works with the cords I have, and with my Sony clock radio docking station. It's secure on the old mount so I do not have to worry about it falling. The sound quality is great, I do not notice any difference. The best part is it works with my life box case. I do not have to take the case off like many other reviewers have said. I am very satisfied with this product. I would definately recommend it.

This isn't the product for which I was originally searching. I wanted a longer cable that I could use in my car as my VW Jetta has the old-style-30-pin hook-up in the center console. The new iPhones don't fit in the space, so I needed a cable so my phone could be out where I could reach it. Although everything said that such a product should be on the shelf, this is the only thing, either Apple or generic, that they had. I bought it because I could use it as a "coupler" for the 30-pin cable I had been using, and still achieve the same result, just with more parts. I ultimately would have liked the cable version, but this serves it's purpose well.

My car has the iPod cable as part of the car (not USB) and this adapter allows my new iPhone 6+ to work perfectly in the car. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is typical Apple accessory (over) pricing, $30 seems like alot for a piece that realistically should be under $10.

This adapter is a necessary evil for anyone converting to the new iPhone adapter. The design is very limiting in that it is almost impossible to use if you have a case on your new phone.

My car's factory sound system connects to iPhones through Bluetooth and via a 30-pin connector cable which enables recorded music, web radio and video to be played. When I upgraded to a iPhone 6, I looked on line for an adapter that converts my iPhone 4 (30-pin connector) to a iPhone 5 (lightning connector). Since I did not find any, I tried using this connector, which works great. However, the only downside to using this adapter is that it can be shaken loose when the connected phone is placed onto its holder on the car's console.

I have a Dice Electronics iPod integration kit in my car, that I installed in 2007. I bought a new iPod, but integration kit was the old 30 pin connector, not the new Lightning connector on the newest iPod Touch. Everyone that I talked to said that even with the Lightning adapter that my new iPod would not integrate with my old Dice module. They were wrong... There are some software connection hiccups when I first plug in the iPod, but it's quickly sorted out and I have full control of the iPod from my steering wheel controls. The adaptor saved me over a hundred dollars, because I don't have to buy a new integration kit.

I purchased this is an adapter especially to use my 30 pin VG lightning cord that allows me to connect to an overhead projector. Can only use it if I take the case off my phone.

This adapter was a smart purchase for me. I have an older 3rd gen iTouch and have several 30 pin connector accessories (alarm clock, etc). With this, I can use my new 6th gen iTouch on them with ease since the new iTouch comes with the "lightning" connector. If you are replacing an older iTouch, make sure to get this as well as it will save you a lot of money having to replace your older accessories. I even believe you can use it to charge and sync from your older 30 pin cord if something happens to the new one. Make sure to get this, you won't be sorry.

I really needed this adapter for a new to me car, but I had to take all cases off for the adapter to fit snugly--it went back, they do make an adapter more like a cord.
