I have the vehicle manufacturer's iPod cable that has the 30 pin connection at one end and USB port connection at the other end. This adapter was a reasonably priced alternative to buying a much more costly cable so as to allow connection of a modern iPhone to the USB port. Once connected to the USB port the iPhone can be charged and the music stored on the iPhone can be played through the radio speakers.

I have a Tech21 protective case for my iPhone. Problem is I need to remove the case to use the adapter.

I needed this adapter when I bought a new iPod 6, so I could use the iPod with my Bose Speaker Doc. The adapter works great, however the iPod is a bit wiggly as it sits on the Bose speaker doc with the 30 pin connector. The iPod needs something behind it to form a cushion when pressing the iPod to select a different song, etc. Not a take away from the product however, just how it works with the speaker doc.

Works as designed, only problem is I need to take off my otter box to use it on the docking station

This item works exactly as expected. I would however on that converts the end pin to a smaller width.

I just purchases a used SUV that had an older Pioneer sound system installed. Unfortunately, it was set up for 30pin, and not lightning. I REALLY did not feel like pulling the Dash apart to replace the cable, so instead, I purchased this adapter. Works great. Audio is fantastic. Haven't figured out how to get a charg through it, but I'm pretty sure thats a setting in my vehicle.

The little connector comes in handy when I'm out take photos on my digital camera and want to share them with my family and friends. I have the memory card reader for the iphone/ipad but it is a 30pin. my friends call me fancy when I pull this out and they immediately have their professional looking photos in snap.

Bought this so my daughter can use her iPhone 5s on her old iHome dock. It charges and plays just fine although I'm not a fan of using the little Lightning connector to hold the unit on the dock - at least the dock has a little bar to keep the phone from moving too far in one direction. Seems like a recipe for damage although it has held up well so far.

Was pleased to find this for my son, who has an '08 G35. It allow him to listen to music from his I phone using the ipod connector that came with the car. Only gripe is that the phone doesn't charge while is is being use. I knew this before I bought it. Apple doesn't offer a product that allows charging at the same time.

This worked for the phone itself, but if you have a bulky case it has trouble reaching inside.

This was an easy and much less expensive way to connect my iPhone 6-plus to my car. The car came with a 30-pin connector cord, which worked wonderful with my iPhone 5. The car will only play music if the phone is connected. Calls play via Bluetooth. This was a lot less expensive than the options from the dealership. The connection is snug but releases easily. Highly recommend!!!

It'll fit my iPhone 5s w/otter box case, but won't connect my iPad mini w/Apple's genuine leather case. I'd have to remove it each time. The case's cutout isn't sized to accept the size of their own adapter, even though the adapter is tiny. Sad. I said "Yes" as far as recommending, but you need to know that the fit isn't universal.

When I purchased my iPhone 6S, I realized that my car’s built in adaptor (plug directly in phone)that allows me to play music in my 2009 car, no longer worked. I was worried about not being able to play downloaded music through my radio any longer. I explained what I wanted to do and the Best Buy tech lead me right to what I needed.

With the "at one time" new lightening cables, older 30 pin iPod docks were rendered useless. This is a great adapter to allow on to use older equipment. My only complain is that I have to remove my case to make the adapter fit into my newer iPhone or iPod. If Apple made the connector just a little longer, it would be perfect!

This does a good job of converting a legacy 30 pin iphone cable to lightening. The only draw back is that the lightening end of the adapter is short and won't reach the phone through something like an otter box. If you have that kind of a case either get something else or buy and extender.

I bought this to update the plug in my car so I could charge my phone and play music through the stereo. It works fine, but only with a phone that is not in a case. To me, it would be a more useful product if there was a short cable or if the lightning connecter could fit into the opening of my Otter Box when it is on the phone.

Great adapter but Apple products are too expensive just because it carries the Apple brand

Works as advertised. This is an Apple product you would expect nothing more or less .

The small end of this adapter does not take into consideration that most people have their phones in protective cases, so in order to use this adapter you need to remove (if you can) your phone from your protective case. This was not well thought out. The small end should protrude further to allow for Iphone cases of many varieties.

It works fine if you don't have a case on your phone or tablet . Should be a cord adaptor
