Snaps into the phone and the 30-pin connector perfectly -- but in order to get it to connect to the phone, I had to remove the phone's case. I think this would work much better if the lightning connector was just a bit longer -- so you can still protect your phone by keeping the case on . . .

Once you buy a new iPhone 5 or 6 all your 4 products are useles (even bose speakers) if you don't buy this one. That being said trade your iPhone 4 ( you actually benefit from it as ur battery will start to fail at 2 years of use) and you will only require this one for devices that were designed for iPhone 4 ( check the brand of that product and I am quite sure they have their own converters)

It's a bummer that Apple had to change the adapter style; however, I realize it's much better now than the old version. I just wish it didn't cost so much, but again it is Apple after all. The device works just fine as advertised. I would recommend it if you need it . I haven't seen any cheaper version out there but it's never failed me

Purchased this to go along with a new ipod for my wife for Christmas; her old ipod quit. She has an iHome A5 & to use the new ipod she would need this for docking. We discovered the "imcompatible" A5 performs perfectly as long as she (if ipod is removed) shuts down the ipod, docks the ipod, then turns on the ipod. Charging & playing work exactly as they should.

Works with my Golf GTI data calbe to plug in my new iphones. Should be more compact.

The lightning port needs a longer neck to accommodate most phone cases

I purchased this device due to the fact that my 2014 CLA Mercedes Benz output was not iPhone 5 compatible. I wanted to make sure that my phone would synch up correctly with my car and had read reviews that unless you purchased the authorized Apple connector it would not work. Therefore I purchased the authorized connector and it worked flawlessly. Really enjoy having my car synched up now.

Overall this is a fantastic product that does what it advertised. The main problem I ran into that was not a problem of the product is the case I use will not allow me to use this, which sucks. I bought this to adapt my Nissan Versa regular pin adapter to lightning and it does work if I take off my case.

I purchased this adapter to use in my car. It was expensive but works as designed.

Way overpriced for an adapter but it's an Apple product so what're you going to do.

I have bought several of these. My daughter is rough on cables and the cheap ones you can buy that are non-apple just didn't seem to last as long as the apple cables I have. I had a bunch of older apple cables and older docking stations that were basically obsolete with the newer iPhones. These work perfect in converting them to use with the newer phones.

I would purchase something less expensive , this is more than I wanted to spend

I ordered this adapter because my car's ipod output has a 30 pin connection. Well, I don't own an ipod, but I do own an iPhone. This adapter allows me to listen to music from my iPhone XS Max in my car and control it via touchscreen and/or my steering wheel controls. I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this product.

Works well with my Bose sound dock and my iPhone 7plus, although I have to take the cover off the iphone to make the connection, which is basically the only problem I have with it. Other than the cover being hard to get off my iPhone to use it, the sound is great. So it does what it is suppose to do.

I bought this for my VW car charger that came with the vehicle. It works great and I haven't had any problems with it. The only thing I didn't expect was having to the cover off my phone to charge. When you connect this to the charger it doesn't sync up like the cable does when connected to it.

I did not research the product before purchasing. It does connect the two devices I wanted to connect but I could not use it because I need a cable on the connector so my iphone can lay flat. Connector is not strong enough to hold iphone upright. The connector is good - just not what I needed.

It's a good product overall. Would've been better if it came with a cable.

This very useful adapter is handy for using older products with newer iPhones. We use it mostly to modify a docking station for a clock/alarm/music player, but it will also adapt an older, 30-pin cable for use with lightning-port products (such as for charging an iPhone). A bit pricey, though.
