Some adapters will not allow you to listen to audio; they only allow you to charge your iPhone. The Apple adapter will allow you to charge your iPhone or iPod and listen to audio. Be cautious when looking at less expensive options on Amazon.

Title says it all. I inherited an older iHome studio player with the 30 pin attachment and this has allowed me to use my iPhone 7 Plus to play amazing sounding music. Highly recommend to save someone from getting rid of older technology

I still have the first generation iPod which has the 30 pin plug in. Of course this plug in no long works on any of the new speakers, etc. this lightning to 30 pin adapter enables me to still use my first generation iPod. I great adapter to have.

It does what it's supposed to do -- adapt the larger plug from older Apple products to the new lightning plug. Works perfectly. I would love to see a plug come out to do the reverse as well...I was told they are never in stock at BB and I couldn't find one either.

I bought this to adapt to a speaker with a 30 pin plug rather than buy a new speaker. You have to balance your old iPod, iPad, iPhone on it which doesn't really feel secure. Spend the extra money and get the 1 with a cord.

I got this iHome thing as a gift, which was great because at the time, I had an iPhone 4, and an iPad. I could charge both. Then, when I upgraded to the iPhone 5S, the connector was different. This adapter meant I didn't have to out and purchase a newer iHome base.

Works as it's supposed to, but not in my Honda Odyssey. I bought this to convert an old apple RCA connectors cable. For some reason it doesn't seem to get the video signal out. It does great for the audio signal. Woks on my sons boom box.

I'm glad I bought this adapter. Needed it for my iHome since I had an older version iPod and upgraded to an iPod touch 6th generation. It's expensive but I didn't have many options and this seemed the most appropriate.

It works great to convert an aux cable in vehicles or chargers etc but gives too much of a rise on a docking station. There isn't any support to keep the 5/6 male input piece from possibly snapping off inside the phone

I bought it for charging adapter for my car. It works great. It would be nice if Apple made their products with Universal adapter instead of changing them so much. The bright white really sticks out with interior in car.

My (older) car has a built-in iPod (30-pin) connector. All the new Apple products now use the lightning port. With this adapter, I can now connect my phone or iPod Touch without having to buy a new car.

This item had a very high price tag and it's useless if you have a phone case (small lightning plug can't reach receptor). Simply not good for the price... Have seen equivalent products at a fraction of the price...

Works perfectly and I highly recommend. I bought this for my 2014 Mercedes C class which has the iPad connectivity but unfortunately had the old 30 pin adapter. Now my iPod and all the songs I have on it sync perfectly. I am very happy

Bought this adapter to use existing connector for my car head unit. Works just like if I was using a phone with a 30 pin connector. Tried an off-brand and it did not work in comparison to the Apple one.

This is the perfect adapter for new iPhone 5's/iPad Air's to be able to use iPhone 4's & iPod charging stations,,,etc. Who wants to purchase all new charging stations when you can purchase this adapter and get longer use from your current chargers, speakers, etc.

it works for what it is, I purchased to go in my bmw iPod accessory kit and the only thing it did was charge the iPod. Computers and other devices it syncs though.

We bought a new to us three year old car that had a 30 pin connector so we needed the iPod lightning to 30 pin adapter to listen to iPod and iPhone in the car. Perfect! Now we truly have a new car. Apple always makes just what one needs.

This connector allowed me to use newer iPhone with the BMW 30-pin Y connecting cord to play music. It preserved all capabilities of the BMW system without having to resort to more expensive options.

The concept of it it is nice but it does not work well with cases on your phone and the more you take your phone in and out of a case the looser it gets on your phone and less protection from falls you will get.

Great item! I keep one in each car and in my work bag. My work apple devices require the lightning cord, but other family members only need the old cord. If you have an otter box type case you do have to kind of finagle to get it to fit in, but not too bad.
