I'm often more impressed with small machines with big features then big name computers that dont live up to the hype. This thing really delivers. Its an awesome machine, although I did upgrade mine to 4gb of ram and a 320 gig hard drive. Had to buy a spatula from the dollar store to open the case, but hey, I needed one anyway. Its not a gaming computer, but it boots quick and runs apps very well. If anyone is looking to make the switch from PC to mac that is a great option. Love the built in wifi and the ultra small form factor. I would recommend this machine to anyone.

Man! i bought this and hooked it up to my 40' LCD samsung and i swear its was the best thing i could have done. This is the perfect secondary computer, i have 2 gig ram its pretty fast but imma still update to 3, i have 80 gig because its my secondary computer and i have itunes sharing files from my primary computer so i dont really need too much space, i connected it to an external sound card (creative extigy) and then to my surround sound, perfect hook up! it is small and does not make much noise thats why its the perfect purchase as a secondary computer! if u want it as ur main computer then this review does not pertain to you! =)
*side note* im using the logitech cordless wave with it and it really works great

The Mac mini is a good and cheaper alternative to the pricy iMac and the Macbook. Its perfect for ordinary work and fast enough for the internet. It was easy to set up and I am very happy. I used to be a PC user but love the switch to Macs. The only problem is that there are a lot of wires that look tacky. If you plan on leaving the Mini on your desk, I suggest getting a wireless keyboard and mouse to lessen the amount of wires on your desk. Wireless bluetooth keyboards/mice work from very long ranges but are usually pricy. Note: I am a student that works on the computer frequently and this Mac is able to meet my needs perfectly.

Great Computer for Not too Much money

Having been a diehard PC guy forever, the Apple line has always been an interesting sidebar. I have owned an Apple or two over the years but never really latched on to any of them. The Dual Core processor really gives this mini a big punch as far as speed goes. The out of the box wifi is great as well. Adding memory is a little dicey bt well worth the nail biting.
All in all , a speedy little unit that may complete my turn from the 'dark side'.

Good General Use Computer

I think the Mac Mini is a good general use or secondary computer, especially for the casual user. What I love about this computer is that it is tiny, quiet, stylish, and energy efficient.
What I don't love about it is that it's not exactly a bargain considering that it doesn't come with a DVD burner (just burns CDs), keyboard, and mouse. If you add up the price of adding an Apple keyboard and mouse, it is more expensive than a typical PC.
However, what you are paying extra for is the style, energy efficiency, and OS X. The computer is certainly cooler looking than anything in its price range and OS X is slicker looking than Windows Vista. If the computer came with a DVD Burner standard, I'd say then $599 would be perfect.

This little machine is amazing, and very diverse considering all that it can do. You can hook it up to your HD tv for a new exciting way to use your computer, or you can hook it up to a monitor for a more traditional feel. This is a great way to convert over to mac if you are thinking about it, and it has all the great features of a mac at a budget price.

i have had a mac mini since they first came out mines a 1.5ghz g4 and i cant say enough good things about it... mine came with a superdrive to burn dvds and cds a wireless keyboard and mouse... the good thing about these computers is that you can hook up ANY HARDWARE U WANT TO THESE THINGS EVEN IF THEY DONT SAY MAC COMPATIBLE AND THEY WILL WORK!!! my superdrive got messed up by my kids, aand i thought that i would be stuck having to get a external one that is mac compatible ($159) or fix the one inside ($200 plus labor) just on a hunch i got a cheap pioneer external ($49)and it works great!!! i also have a windows keyboard hooked up and a notebook mouse because i hate replacing batteries... my computer also had water dumped on it by my kids... i dried it out and it still works great!!! how many pcs can u do that with??? i stopped using pcs 4 years ago and will never go back, and when i upgrade to a intel mac i will be able to use windows programs as well... i cant wait!!! in conclusion this could possibly be the last computer u may ever need these things last 4 ever!!!

this computer is faster than you would think it is. if you want a cheap computer for gaming, this is not the best way to go. I would just spend more a get an imac for gaming.

The Mac Mini is a great little computer. Works great for everyday usage, photo editing, watching movies, listening to music, etc. I would highly NOT recommended playing any games with intense graphics or action in it. I played Halo1 on it and the game was jerky and slow. It is a great space saver, takes up less then one square foot. All around it is a good computer, especially if you don't want to spend over $1,000 on the Mac Book, Mac Book Pro, or Mac Pro.
