Last year I purchased a MacBook Pro, and this year a MacBook Air. I love this laptop it does exactly what I need it to do and they have high resale value. I sold the MacBook Pro that I purchased in 2012 for $400 to a friend. He says it works like it was brand new. I have not seen any laptop better than a MacBook.

I purchased this MacBook Air for my daughter's use at home with school work. The item was on sale, so it was a good deal for the price. For anyone thinking about purchasing, however, be aware that it has been a while since the Airs have been updated and Apple has better offerings available in their MacBook and MacBook Pro lines. 128GB of SSD storage is rather paltry. The screen is not a retina screen (the difference is like night and day for me as I use a retina display every day) and the touchpad is the "older" iteration that uses a physical click (as opposed to the haptic feedback in the newer MacBook and MacBook Pro lines). Again, the saving grace for this unit is that it can be picked up for less than $1,000 (inexpensive for a Mac laptop). For a few extra bucks, though, a 12" MacBook is a nice option (even with the smaller screen) and a 13" MacBook Pro may be a consideration for those who want some current technology.
Short story... If you want a macOS device and want to keep the price tag under $1,000, this Air is still a decent option (the 11" version is still available as well). If you need more storage space, however, you will need to pay more and, if you start going that route, the Air may no longer be your best choice. (The 12" MacBook and 13" MacBook Pros start at $1,300 and $1,500 respectively with 256 GB of SSD. You're at $1,200 for a 13" Air with 256 GB. Considering the retina display and the upgraded touchpad, the 12" MacBook may be a better choice if processing power is not that important to you. Otherwise, the 13" MacBook Pro may be a better option if you have the extra $300 to spend.)
I would not recommend this unit to a friend because the Airs are long overdue for an update by Apple and the MacBook or MacBook Pros provide better options now for not too much more. With that being said, there is still a market for this unit, depending on your needs. (In my case, it seemed like the perfect laptop for my child.)

My MacBook Pro kept shutting down because of a video card issue. Very frustrating to learn that it was a known problem with the Pro, but I was outside the time frame of Apple replacing the computer. It was left with no choice but to replace the computer on my own. My IT company recommended the MacBook Air.

I switched my entire home set up to MAC, the laptop was the last device. Very happy with it, everything is integrated now and works seamless. It takes a little getting used to but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. Took advantage of a special sale and was able to get a great deal for a great product.

Had the IPad Air and loved it so I thought I'd get the MacBook Air. Wanted to get rid of my slow Windows computer. I've had Apples in the past and just liked them better. I'm not real computer intelligent and want something that's not always frustrating me. Still have lots to learn but I really enjoy it.

I had ordered a refurbished unit direct from Apple. Received an email from Best Buy about a sale on Apple products. I was able to purchase a new computer from Best Buy for less than the cost of the refurbished one. A plus for Apple is that they prepaid the shipping for the return plus gave me full credit.

I own several of the Apple products and this is my first Apple computer purchase. To say the least, I was very disappointed with the screen resolution. For a $999 laptop, you would expect Retina display. I was under the impression that it contains the retina display and bought it when it was on sale. When I checked at home, the screen resolution was horrible. My $200 Toshiba Chromebook 2 has better resolution than this. I had to return this product and bought a MacBook Pro instead.

ive had my MacBook for almost 2 years now and have never had a problem with it. It hasn't slowed down at all, the battery doesn't hold as long has it use to but I bring my charger with me everywhere so that doesn't bother me. I wish Apple would come out with a touchscreen Macbook.

I had an HP and I hated it. It was soooo slow and it would freeze on me all the time. I had it for 3 years which I thought it was still too early to be freezing on me. I bought the Mac because I'm starting school once agin pretty soon and I'm in love with it. It is easy to navigate. I love my MacBook Air

My daughter used a MacBook Air at her high school. After using it for a while, she did not want to use a PC again. So I had no choice but to get her one for a graduation gift. She was overjoyed and feels properly equipped for college.

Love my new laptop and I got a good deal on it but disappointed as I discovered that it is not the newest model, Perhaps I should have read the specs more thoroughly because Best Buy definitely did not make it evident when reading the description and I only discovered the differences after opening and comparing with my husbands new one. Would buy macbook again but likely not from Best Buy .

First time to use a non-Windows laptop so a little challenging but much of it is intuitive. Being an iPhone and iPad user already helps the transition greatly.

I came into Best buy to purchase my laptop after seeing that it was $150.00 less then what I would have payed at the Apple Store. I had a store credit of $350.00 from a previous return. I used that towards my laptop. It was quick and easy. And I was helped my an associate right when I got into the store.

I started downloading all of Microsofts software on 100%. After it finished it was on 90%. It took about 30 mins for that. When I finished that, I started updating my mac. It took an hour to download. When it finished, the battery was only at 81%. Just one of the reasons why I made this big purchase!
