I ordered the Magic keyboard for the iPad Air 13 inch and I got the Magic Keyboard for the IPad Pro

I purchased this after my other brand had issues and they have since went out of business. Most of the other keyboards are not really easy to use in your lap, this one does pretty well. No pairing needed, just works once attached. Pros: So far it seems sturdy and well made. The keyboard feel is really good and the touchpad as well. Easy to remove iPad from keyboard. Power port to charge is separate from iPad, which leaves the other for accessories. Cons: My other case/keyboard had a few features that I miss. There is no volume, brightness (screen or keypad), or play/pause controls. It does power from the iPad, so it will drain the battery somewhat faster. The price is kinda high.

Love this Keyboard. This changes the game with the iPad Pro, fantastic touchpad, very good keyboard, excellent typing experience. It also offers great protection for the iPad Pro and it's silly Camera Bump. I was very hesitant to purchase it because of the price...and still feel the price is too hefty, but so far my iPad has lived in this thing and I love it. Yes, it does decrease the battery life of the iPad, but having the charging port on the keyboard makes plugging in while using no big deal. Also the fact that if you have Apple Care, this accessory is covered is a bonus!!!

I seriously debated saving money on the competitors but there was always something important to me that was lost to keep the price down. And it didn’t make sense to me to pay well for an iPad Pro and then cheap out on the keyboard I knew I would spend many hours using. The downsides discussed in other reviews are real. - Expensive: It is. But you get what you pay for. The keyboard and trackpad work flawlessly like the Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad do for my M1 Mac mini (and former Intel MBP that the iPad Pro replaced). - Heavy: It is when compared to the competitors. But it is also much more functional in the ways I need. And it is lighter than my old MBP. - Missing Function Keys: This is the only thing that I don’t like about it. But, I accept the trade off to keep the keys the perfect size, to have enough trackpad to be very workable and to allow for the perfect viewing angle with good balance. It feels like Apple engineers thought everything through and built an amazing product that for me makes the iPad Pro a laptop replacement.

The Magic Keyboard is easy to install and use, and it provides the closest feeling to a laptop experience. The strong magnets on the keyboard attracts the iPad and places it in the proper position. Once installed, you can immediately use the keyboard and trackpad. Now you can use a cursor to navigate your iPad and apps, and type with responsive keys that give that laptop feel. The only complaint really is with iPad OS, because it limits the iPad’s use to a glorified iPhone with extra features. Something like Finder would make the iPad into a more serious product, and rumors are that iPad OS 16 seeks to achieve that, but still a rumor for now. You can still do a lot with the magic keyboard and should be an excellent addition for the majority of people; typing emails and notes, and surfing the web for leisure or research, will always be much more comfortable and satisfying than just holding an iPad and having to swipe and tap on the large 12.9 screen. Lastly, I love it as a stand when I use my iPad as a second display with my MacBook Pro because the angles that can be set are comfortable enough to view the display for long hours, and the sturdiness of of the “hinge” ensures that angle is maintained. Since I work remotely, there are times I want to work outside, whether that be my yard or at a park, so being able to use the iPad as a portable second display makes work a fun experience. In short, this is the best way to get a laptop experience from your tablet, but just remember that you will still lack some capabilities of Mac OS. I would strongly recommend the Magic Keyboard for people look for a laptop experience with their iPad.
