This apple product is simple and works exactly like it says it does. I like how strong the magnet is...I have never had trouble with it popping off or not connecting properly.

There's not much to say about this device because it's so simple! And cheap! (For Apple, anyway.) It's a block of aluminum which houses some magnets and simple pass-through circuits to adapt the old MagSafe plugs to the newer, slightly different sized sockets on newer Mac laptops. There are other devices that have MagSafe 2, of course, but I have no experience with them and they are not included in this review. I never had an issue with the original MagSafe, so when MagSafe 2 was announced, I was a bit annoyed to learn that all of those old laptop chargers I bought years ago, which still work perfectly, would go to waste. Now, I am able to extend the life of these chargers and use them at work, home, and the boyfriend's. If you have an older MagSafe charger laying around, buying this device and putting it back into service is a no-brainer. For those who are wondering, I have successfully charged my MacBook Pro that came with an 85 watt adapter using the old 65 watt adapter, although it charges more slowly and the transformer gets very warm/hot since I am using the maximum suppliable wattage until the battery is fully charged. I can't speak personally about using the MacBook Air's 45 watt adapter, but I've read it won't deliver enough power to recharge or even sustain a MacBook Pro that can make use of an 85 watt adapter.

The great thing about this is that I am able to use my old power adapters with my mac. I always have had an extra one at my office and this let's me use it without spending $79 on a whole new charger.

I ordered a charger for my computer from a company on the internet. They sent me the wrong one. I purchased this adapter and it allow me to use the charge on my new computer. For $10 it is great.

i had some old macbook pro ac charger and decide to make a good use out of it. Work like a charm. Either spend 10 bucks on this or get new macbook pro ac charger that can easily cost over 50.

I wanted a 2nd power supply for new MacBook Pro. This adapter was a quick and inexpensive add on that let me reuse an older one that would’ve ends up in the landfill.

We have MagSafe chargers for all our teacher machines at school so I just take this with me everyday instead of cArrying a whole charger and I don't have to worry about a charger fitting

while your own charger is not necessarily with you all times, the loaner charger could be for newer or older macbook. having this small piece of mind in your pocket resolves the issue.

Had to purchase the converter because Apple does not provide the correct adapter on the Thunderbolt monitor when purchasing the new MacBook This converter was very reasonably priced.

This item is best for useing other changer if you dont bring your own. For example at college they have macbook changer but not the new one so with this item you can use the changer.

Rather purchasing another MagSafe 2 power plug, this is compatible with a variety of Apple devices with an older MagSafe connector.

This adapter definitely was a good buy. I just purchased a macbook pro retina and lost the charger it had come with. Instead of buying a new charger, I was told to check these adapters out. Using it with my old macbook charger, I was impressed. Worked well and even stays on the charger after use. It latches on to my charger pretty well. I was a little worried it would fall off and get lost due to size but that has never become a problem yet.

This is a great converter if you have the original MagSafe laying around and have a newer MagSafe 2 computer. It allows you to use the original MagSafe for all your MagSafe computers.

If you have an old MagSafe charger and a newer Macbook or Macbook Pro, this is very helpful. It allows me to travel with one charger for two different models.

I left my charger at work and was ready to buy one for over $100 but bought this adapter for $10 and used my daughter’s earlier model charger. Did the trick!!

I was concerned about losing the adapter until I got it—the magnet holding it to the original connector is really strong, and the power supply seems solid.

It is a nice device that allows the use of older power supplies with the newer macbook pros. This allows users to repurpose their older power supplies and effectively have a backup supply in case your main supply drops out, or in the instance that you would like to leave one supply at work and have one for home. It is a niche device that not everyone will need or desire, but for those with older mbp systems it is a good idea.

Saved me a ton of $. Adapted my old charger instead of having to buy a new one to keep at home so I didn't have to drag the charger back and forth to work

This is a handy little converter that can be used with Magsafe adapters. Cheaper to have this than spending a lot of money on buying a new adapter.
