We bought this to keep our iPad 2 safe from the external forces of nature (the only thing it cannot protect itself from is fingerprints). I like the fact that the magnet lock automatically puts the iPad to sleep; no need to wear out the power/sleep button on the top. But is it worth the "Apple tax?" I'd say no. The minor magnet feature is the only plus I see versus third-party cases. Other cases seem more affordable and feel easier to grip (I forgot to mention that the cover is a pain to remove for there are no handles). If you want the magnet sleep function, then go for it. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Great case for your first iPad. I have one on my other iPad and have not had an issue with it for over 2 years. I got a darker color one so it does not get dirty. I highly recommend this case.

I looked at a lot of different iPad cases before deciding on this one. I like it because it is not to bulky and the iPad turns off when you close the case. So far it has provided great protection.

I bought this item because my Griffen Survivor case finally became unusable and finances prevented me from getting a Lifeproof. I am aware that the Smart Cover in no way advertises protection but I thought I would give it a try anyway. I am impressed with the strength of the magnet and it's pretty cool that the ipad wakes up when the Smart Cover is removed. Just know that this item is NOT a protective case or cover in any way, but it IS easy to use, light weight and keeps the ipad slim.

great protection for screen, however, doesn't seem like it would protect it much from a fall. nice feature that it turns device off when you close it. saves battery

This case is very nice for the money. The only cons are that you have to buy a separate screen protector for screen protection and also when it's standing up the base is a little narrow so on soft surfaces like a bed or carpet it sometimes falls over.

I am somewhat of a gadget/accessory geek. This is one of two accessories that I have for my iPad. I really like this case because it is light weight while protecting the integrity of the device.

This Smart Case is great. I only had a Smart Cover for a while, but the back of the iPad was getting scratched. This offers much better protection but still has a thin, sleek styling.

Our iPad 2 is 3.5 years old and the exact old cover in different color was pretty worn. As my son is now 7 we felt maybe we should consider getting him a new iPad. Turns out we only needed to buy this new case;) Replaced it and iPad looks like new. (and saved many hundreds of dollars.)

This is an easy cover to apply and remove. It adds no weight, protects the screen and can be used to clean the screen. Make sure you use the side that touches the screen when cleaning.

I originally had just the magnetic face cover for my iPad and found that it did not offer the protection it needed. I had dropped it multiple times and one of those times caused a dent in the corner of metal part of the body but fortunately it did not damage the screen. I knew I had to find something to protect it and decided to go with this full cover version. I haven't dropped it yet but if I do I know just by the construction of the case that it will protect against what had occurred before and keep my screen from being damaged at the previously damaged location.

This is a great case. Slim and has a sleek look and comes in a variety of colors. My kids use my iPad frequently and this case is very easy to clean.

Overall I am very satisfied with the cover. It provides several viewing angles for doing video chats or while you're typing or surfing the web on a table or desk. The covers magnetic strip is very strong and once attached it will not fall off. It's also very lightweight and adds virtually no weight to iPad. The only problem I found is that sometimes on certain surfaces (in my case a plush carpeted floor) that the cover may start to slide a little and it may not stay in the intended position. Other than that it works as intended almost all the time.

My wife's iPad 2 keeps getting old tech-wise but it still does all the things she uses it for, so it is good that my local BB still offered this Smart Case in store, which makes it feel like new again, at least on the outside.

This iPad cover basically installed itself! The magnetic feature keeps the cover in place, protects the screen and also serves as a stand! Excellent product for the price!

This cover fits perfectly over the iPad allowing the user to protect the screen. When you open or close it, the iPad turns on and off.

Smart case works well, good fit for Ipad, turns Ipad on and off when opening & closing, It's a nice case, but $50 if felt was kinda steep

Best Buy is the only store I could find this item. Sales help was excellent and the color choice was perfect. This is exactly like the original that came with the Ipad when it was new. I appreciate all of the help I received in finding the correct product.

I wanted a thinner iPad cover and this delivers. It is thin on protecting the device form drops, but the other options were thicker than I wanted. The magnetic segmented cover flap is easy to use and appears durable.

I love this case, it is very durable and protective. I can use it as a stand for when I am cooking and need to look up recipes. The best part of all it is not bulky!
