It attached magnetically, which is really useful, and easy to remove. It's not a full cover, so if you want front and back protection this isn't it, but it does cover the screen, and turns it off too. For day to day, non travelling protection it is great.

Good case but some flaws

There aren't enough ways to stand the iPad up though either landscape or portrait. I'm still happy enough w/ the case, but it could be better.
