This only protects the screen. I was looking for something to encase the entire ipad for total protectin against drops, etc. I bought a Targus leather case that is awesome.

Looking back when I purchased the product it was pretty obvious this "cover" would not protect the entire product. The salesperson did a good sales job.

This works pretty well, but it's not impressive. I prefer a Smart Cover and a 3rd party back that covers the Smart Cover hinges "locking them" in place.

I purchased the Apple Smart Cover and the Belkin snap shield that is compatible. The Smart Cover worked well, but the Belkin snap shield cracked after 3 weeks of light use and therefore, made the Apple Smart Cover useless. I tried to exchange the snap shield and was told by Best Buy that I could not exchange it because it was damaged. I am appalled that they would sell a product that was not durable enough to last more than 3 weeks and then refuse to exchange it! I will never shop at Best Buy again.

The case is very nice and feels great. I dont have too much of an issue with its material as if anything thicker for the casing would make it really bulky. The only issue I had is that it didn't quite fit perfectly on the iPad. When you snap in the device the left side (where the cover is attached to the case) there is a gap and seems to really show when you roll back the cover or use it as a stand for landscape viewing. For some it may not be an issue but it was for me. So its going back.

Difficult to prop up your iPad with this. Its a good safe cover for your iPad, but just wasn't what I expected.

I expected to have more protection and the product while made the iPad enter sleep mode it offered little or no protection.

it works great up unlock iPad & and protect the class but offers no protection for the back.

This cover would be nice if you have unlimited money to continue to purchase iPads if you drop them, or if you are the least likely person to drop it on the planet. There is no protection to the back at all, the front gray piece is magnetic (which is cool) and it attaches to the side, it also folds up into a triangle when you are using it so it will act like a "prop" (which is another plus) but it offers absolutely no protection to the entire iPad at all, so meaning the very first time you drop it, it will be cracked, scratched or smashed immediately (I'm too clumsy for that). It also doesn't come with any sort of screen protector (the vinyl overlay to keep scratches at bay) so literally it's a piece of flimsy thin plastic that doesn't do much (and this is no fault of Best Buy, this is Apple's fault, I think they just want to make sure you'll have to continue buying iPads). And actually at the time I returned mine, there was a guy in front of me returning the same thing for the same reason.

it is ok for minor use, just not functional for a heavy user

I have an iPad 2 and this case dosen't work very well. Because of it moving around in the case, my iPad 2 doesn't fit right up against the button covers on the top and sides. So, it makes it hard to push and get a quick response. I'm sure it is fine with the iPad 3 because of it being a little thicker. I'm very surprised that Apple is marketing this as an iPad 2 case when it really doesn't hold it very securely. I would not recommend this case if you have the iPad 2.

Ok forvtravel, but I prefer my Bluetooth keyboard case.

It leaves line prints on my screen and slides off if your not careful with how you handle it. I don't understand the point of the smart cover when there are other covers that protect both sides of the iPad.

I found it awkward to use. I like to read using my iPad and don't feel it supports the iPad properly. Plus, it comes off the iPad when I'm trying to use it.
