Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the excellent keyboard quality and ease of use of the Smart Keyboard Folio for 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd Generation). Many appreciate its slim design, minimal added weight, and the added benefit of device protection. However, some find the price to be a significant drawback. The case's bulk is a less frequently mentioned concern.

Overall, a solid product and the wife loves the keyboard attachment since it serves as a case as well.

I switched from apple Smart Keyboard to this Logitech keyboard. It is bulkier and heavier than the apple one and not the best quality itself. However, its key typing experience is fantastic! As a person who types everyday, I love this keyboard. And it protects the iPad body as well. Too heavy and feeling like it is heavier than MacBook Pro 13, but I love this keyboard!

Had to think hard to make this purchase. The price on this thing is pretty steep for a keyboard attachment. Apple didn't disappoint with it's functionality though - it just works. At least it's also a cover so I get additional functionality from it. As a cover, I initially found it a little awkward trying to pry it open with the strong magnets, but after enough use, you figure it out. It's a little weird when flipping the cover around so that you're just using the tablet without the keyboard. Your hand position always ends up holding the iPad by its keyboard. I always feel like when a keyboard key gets pressed that it's going to cause some issue or open some app, but Apple has that figured out too. The keyboard input doesn't seem to get enabled until it magnetically snaps into one of the propped up typing positions. An accidental press of any key never becomes an issue. Still, it feels odd holding the iPad by its keyboard. I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't have a trackpad - would definitely make maneuvering and typing in documents a bit easier. But now that I think about it, I don't recall ever seeing a mouse pointer on an iPad screen -- so I guess there would be more to it for Apple to just "add a trackpad". Maybe it'll be a future feature for iPads and its iOS if they work to try to close the gap between iPad as a Laptop use. Overall it's not a bad little keyboard. If you can get past the high price, you'll be happy with its functionality.

Great addition to the iPad. Gives it good protection while enhancing your input for typing on the iPad. Adds minimal weight and size.

I’m in love with this keyboard. It’s perfect and so easy to use. Comfortable and I preferred it over the keyboard on my lap top and home PC. Since I purchased this keyboard I rarely use my laptop. It holds together very securely with its multiple magnets. I can comfortably sit anywhere with it attached to my iPad Pro and work comfortably. I love the different angles you can set it to and how it protects front and back of iPad. A must have

I see alot of reviews about people disliking the keys on this. I actually like the keys. I have no issues with sticking, they are quite responsive, & they feel sturdy under my fingers while typing. The cover is nice and slim and you can flip the keyboard backwards and use the iPad "book" style when you don't need it. It's a smart cover (of course) so it wakes & sleeps your iPad when you open & close it. As with anything Apple, I think this keyboard so expensive but it was the only slim keyboard magnetic smart case I could find that wouldn't tear up on me so I gave in. Other than that, its perfect for my needs!

This keyboard fits perfectly on the newer iPad and does a wonderful job at staying connected on the back of the iPad. It is not too bulky and the keyboard size is perfect to type on. Also the two positions for the iPad to rest make it perfect for typing on a desk or even on your lap. I wouldn’t get any other type of keyboard case after purchasing this.

This is a great boost for the iPad typist. The onscreen keyboard is good but takes up screen space. The quality of the keys and the way it snaps to the ipad are great. The price point is not the best but then apple's accessory price points never make sense :)

Love this keyboard for my new iPad Pro. It is very slim and doesn’t add much weight or size to the iPad. Love that I don’t need to charge it, and the keys are a very nice size. It is also very easy to remove if you want to just hold your iPad by itself to watch Netflix while lounging. Highly recommend it.

This is the ideal companion for the apple iPad Pro—I do lots of typing for business so I can’t do without it. So simple to use, lightweight, sleek & smart-designed, keyboard always stays in place & easily removable. It also works as an iPad cover. Very versatile

If you are mostly concerned with weight and size this is the keyboard for you. It isn’t backlit but it works well and it is easy to remove if you just want to use the iPad without the keyboard. Doesn’t protect the top and bottom of the iPad so if you are planning on dropping it get a different case.

This keyboard fits perfectly for my new iPad Pro (3rd Generation. I like that it has two different angle options to place it and that it provides a case to the iPad without actually purchasing a case. I’ve never purchased a keyboard before, but like how well this one works with the iPad.

This is a nice compact keyboard/cover. Super easy to use. Works just like an external keyboard. Doesn't require batteries and you don't need to carry it around like an external keyboard as it turns into a carry case.

Sturdy, lightweight, and provides screen protection when stored in a bag or when laying around the house. However, it won’t offer much protection if the tablet is dropped. The keyboard is comfortable for general use either in your lap, on a plane, or at a table, but I wouldn’t expect this keyboard / tablet combo to replace a traditional laptop for extended use. When you want to fold the keyboard out of your way and just hold the iPad, like.... an iPad it does feel a bit awkward as your fingers constantly press the keys, but you get used to it. (Don’t worry, pressing the keys in this position won’t actually do anything, but it still feels a bit awkward). Some may dislike that the keyboard only offers two angles to position the screen, but I don’t mind. In general, I use my iPad for drawing, taking notes, writing simple documents, and surfing the web. This keyboard works perfectly for me.

Apple has taken a lot of flack lately for the butterfly keyboard design in the MacBook Pro, and deservedly so. I have not personally experienced those issues, but I can imagine how frustrating that would be. This keyboard, however, is amazing! The keys have such a satisfying click to them. And they are surprisingly quiet! I honestly love typing on this thing. My two complaints are this: 1) I do not understand why they refuse to have a row of function keys. So often I want to adjust the volume or pause the music and there is no way to do that from the keyboard. Not even a shortcut of any kind. I know I can reach up to the iPad and use the buttons there, but it just annoys me for some reason. 2) I was at a charity event a few months ago, and was using my iPad to play music while people served. The even was less than 2 hours long. During that time I had set the iPad and Smart Keyboard on a metal desk by the audio system. When I left 2 hours later I noticed that suddenly the magnets were significantly less strong to the point that sometime the keyboard case won’t even stay closed. This is incredibly frustrating. I don’t even understand why this would happen over such a short period of time. It literally just falls open now, sometimes even turning my screen off and on unnecessarily in my backpack, which consumes the battery. Not cool, and very frustrating considering the price of the accessory.

There are no “Perfect” keyboards for iPads but the Apple keyboards are the best “sleek” solution. No pairing issues or charging inconveniences because the keyboard has physical connection point for the signal and power. This, and all of them, are held in place with strong magnets and the design protects front and back surfaces with minimum bulk. The keyboard itself is protected from crumbs and dirt with a seamless cover. They do have a bit of a “chicklet” feel but better than average. Open, it will hold the iPads at 2 different angles but it is landscape only. A better typing experience can be had with a Bluetooth keyboard. Apple or third party manufacturers make a variety of them, but they are less convenient and offer no protection for the iPad.
