It's magnetic and works as a good screen protector. Easy enough to type with too.

A bit on the pricy side but is a great accessory for the iPad Pro if you want a keyboard.

I love this keyboard. It feels very natural and easy to get used to. My only complaint is that it doesn’t always stay connected when on an unstable surface, like the couch or bed, and I have to take it off the smart connector and reconnect it.

Having owned IPads before, I upgraded to the IPad Pro with the Smart Keyboard case. It makes typing emails (and reviews) much easier than before, and allows me to move off my traditional computer for these tasks. The design is sleek especially when the keyboard is tucked under the cover. The keyboard attaches to the iPad magnetically in a snug fit, plus easy to remove when you want to just use the iPad itself. The cover folds over and sits firmly above the keyboard to hold the iPad upright. Great if you tend move your iPad around a lot for typing or browsing things. The keyboard should be placed on a hard surface, since it is a bit wobbly typing when placed on a soft surface like a newspaper, or matted cloth table cover. Because the cover is magnetic you might not want to put your credit cards on top of it for too long. A nice addition, just a bit too pricey.

The keyboard/cover for the iPad Pro works great at both of it's jobs, protecting the screen and as a very functional keyboard with comfortable tactile typing. The only drawback is to use the keyboard requires a flat stable surface and your lap just won't do.

It takes awhile to get used to, but once acclimated it does just ecactly what I needed. There are several magnetic strips to help position the folds correctly, and the three-contact electrical interface works like a charm. It is somewhat expensive however.

I love how easy it connects, and how the buttons feel on the keyboard.

Based on the mixed reviews I was skeptical of the smart keyboard, but after using it I'm pleasantly surprised at how well it works for me. I don't make too many typing errors with it, and it feels like a quality product to me. The iPad Pro secures firmly to the keyboard, and I'm able to prop it on the side of my couch pretty easily. I find myself navigating to websites using the Command + L shortcut, then using the arrow keys to navigate down the page. This lets me sit back while the ipad is propped on my couch and chill. And for normal iPad mode this cover comes right off just like the other cover available from Apple. Taking off a star due to lack of backlit keys, but one can assume this will be coming in the next iteration.

Light, efficient, beautiful keys, great stand. No need to sync!

Connects easily, and works well as a basic keyboard and cover.

I have had aftermarket keyboards with iPads in the past. I decided to go ahead and spend the money to get the apple keyboard and I made the right decision. The product works as decribed. I was concerned that the keys might be too close to type fast however I am typing this review on my keyboard and I am moving right along. Great purchase.

Best combination between portability and ease of use. No batteries to charge or connection process. Kind of big and a little learning curve to fold, but the best option for keyboards that keep the size of the iPad Pro thin and portable.

I tried 2 other keyboards designed for the iPad Pro prior to buying Apple's Smart Keyboard, in an attempt to avoid the high costs for the keyboard. After a week of use I'm thoroughly satisfied my purchase, thanks in part to Best Buy's reward's certificate program which allowed me to apply my banked certificates towards the full purchase price. Typing on the keyboard is quite fun, and the design quality is undeniably Apple at its best. The lack of backlit keys is a non issue, even when typing in a dimly lit room due to the keyboard's close proximity to the iPad's screen, which provides enough light to see each. The material on the surface of the keyboard along with the white-labeled keys reflects light from the screen perfectly. Unlike the other keyboards I tried, Apple's Smart Keyboard doesn't drain power from the iPad's battery. The keyboard is firm enough to use on my lap, but doesn't add unnecessary bulk which helps keep the iPad Pro light enough for on the go productivity.
