ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apple TV is absolutely amazing for $99.00. It steams nextflix flawlessly, the selection of tv and movies via pay per view is impressive. NO ISSUES WITH LAGGING OR FREEZING. I would have to say that all the people that have complained about the freezing or lagging have a weak wireless network. In fact I'm on my way out to buy another unit for the television upstairs. I have one in the livingroom, a wii I stream with in the basement and soon another Apple TV upstairs. BUY IT!

Another excellent product.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Apple TV a month ago and must say that I love this little black box. I use it for everything from streaming Netflix to my TV, to viewing my photos with family and friends, and steaming my iTunes library to my stereo. This the most convenient little device I have ever used. I do hope that there will be more content added in future updates, but it is still a great device at a great price.

THE GOOD, BAD, & UGLY.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THE GOOD: Very small & compact and does not take up much space. Has the ability to share photos, video, & music wirelessly is great from your iPhone or computer. Has the ability to use the iPhone as a remote which enables you to use the keyboard function from your phone rather than having to use the default remote that comes with the Apple TV and select each letter one by one when searching. THE BAD: Requires an HDMI cable that does not come with the Apple TV. Would like to see more entertainment selections such as HULU + and Vudu. THE UGLY: none OVERALL: Another good product from Apple!!!

Excellent Product, But Not a Must Have
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apple TV is a good product which works exactly as advertised. The interface is excellent and very easy to use. It is a worthy Apple product. I bought it to be able to mirror my IPAD2 to the TV. It works well in this regard, but I find that viewing my IPAD on its own screen is far superior to seeing it on the TV screen. It also has NETFLIX access which is a definite plus. Also access to many free music stations. Otherwise duplicates much of what is available on many DVD players, TV's and ROKU.

Great for Apple people
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll be honest. If I didn't already own a MacBook and an iPhone, I'd go with a Roku. It's cheaper and does basically the same thing. What makes it good for Apple people is that you can "push" a song or video from your computer or phone to the Apple TV and hear or watch it on the big screen. It's also great if you use iTunes Match as it can stream your entire library. I've also found it a convenient way to rent movies from iTunes. The only real negative I've experienced is that for some reason, Netflix can be kind of spotty when it comes to certain TV shows. You'll find yourself having to exit the show and go back in, sometimes 3 or 4 times in order for it to finally play. Other than that, great little gizmo that's simple to set up.

Great for iPhone & iPad users
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as a gift for my father-in-law. He and my bro-and-sister-in-laws all have iPhones, so it's great for their household. They use it mostly for AirPlay showing YouTube videos and playing songs from their library on the TV. If you don't have Apple products, it would probably be a waste. No HuluPlus, so buy a Roku if you don't want it mainly for AirPlay. They even block HuluPlus when you try to AirPlay it to the TV from your phone or iPad. I wouldn't buy/rent shows or movies from iTunes myself, so I think it would be a complete waste if you don't have iPads or iPhones in your house. It does have Netflix at least, but my BlueRay player already has that. I'd say if they added HuluPlus to it, it would be perfect for anyone.

Would like to find more uses
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this hoping I could use it for wireless connection with a projector for presentations, but the wireless network I must use does not permit such devices. There was no way to find this out without buying it. So now I have a great way to show pictures on our home teevee, and to play music over the teepee. I never do either of these things, but I suppose I could. The other things it offers-- access to netflix, for example, I already had access to through my dvd player, so that's no great deal. I suppose the option of renting iTunes movies is a plus, but I've never done that. The device itself is slick, works well, is easy to use and install. I just wish I could find more free content worth watching with it.

Great if you are a Mac
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are totally immersed in the Mac ecosystem then the AppleTV makes more sense then other options on the market. It is great if you have lots of purchases through the iTunes store or if you are using iCloud or iTunes Match. Its great how I can watch anything off of eiher of our Mac Book Pros, our iPhones or iPad. It doesn't take a lot to set it up but it does take a little getting used to the menu interface. I've disabled the remote function on both of our MBP's because it was so annoying to keep accidentally interfering with the laptops when someone was changing something on the TV. Great product but the last thing I would say is if you are using Amazon Plus this won't be the product for you.

It's an Apple - It Works!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had hoped to use a Panasonic Blu Ray player to stream NetFlix. It was awwwful. I returned it and bought an Apple TV unit. It connected perfectly. It is a gem. The NetFlix application works perfectly. It connected easily. It's fast. It sounds good. The video is good. You can use your iPhone/iPod as a remote. That's the way to go. If you are concerned about image quality, don't be.

Great product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Apple TV is a wonderful way for me to draw information from my IMAC [that is in my den] to the TV in our family room - I can see all the picture albums, videos, etc. very easily. Very easy to set up/hook up and it is a lot of fun to use it! Also allows connections to Netflix, etc. which is really great.

Good, But Not Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this mainly so I could rent new movies from iTunes and stream them on my TV. It works great for that, but that's where it stops being great for home use. I can see where the mirroring from other Apple products would be a great feature for businesses, but I haven't found much use for it at home just yet. You can also watch Netflix on the Apple TV, but there seem to be a lot of bugs with it, compared to watching it on the Playstation3 and Wii. I only recommend it if you regularly rent movies at full price. It saves a trip to the video store, but you do have to wait an hour or so for the movie to download first. All that being said, it remains the weak link in Apple's hardware lineup.

Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So much better than anything out there and cheaper. I can walk into my house listening to pandora and send the audio straight to my Apple TV and hear everything through my home theater. Plus if my kids are watching Toy Story in the Living Room i can just send the movie to the bedroom with no interuptions. It is by far one of my favorite Apple products. I just wish they would add an actual Pandora App like they did with the MLB.com and NBA.

Apple TV is a smart idea
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Apple TV really is a smart idea and innovation in television viewing. It is a clear sign of technology and hooking up Itunes to your tv. So, whatever u access on itunes, it is now available on your tv and you can can sit on your favorite couch and enjoy listening to music, looking at photos or watching a tv show or movie you have on Itunes library. This was a holiday gift for my husband and he is really enjoying this product. It just gives our household so many opportunities to connect our Itunes library right to the tv. Thank you to Apple.

What an outstanding device!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just getting into coordinating my "i" items, (iPad,iMac, Cloud, etc.) Hooked up the Apple TV in the living room and loved the streaming. Installed the remote app on my iPad, even better. Headed back to Best Buy and got another one for the master bedroom. This is definitely an outstanding device.

Handy little gadget
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for my son, because I really like mine, which I've had since this latest version was released. Works great, has Netflix, you can rent/buy video, the interface is beautiful and easy to use. Imwould like it e.even more if it had pandora built in, but with air tunes I can stream it from my iPad, anyway. You tube looks good on this, too. Now adding MLB, NBA, podcasts, etc, it's a nice addition to my home theatre. Great set of Internet radio, and streams iTunes library. Looking forward to the addition of cloud, which will make it even easier to stream music from my library. Price is right for what you get. Maybe roku has more channels, but most of those are marginal, at best.

For the price, the Apple TV is a great buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the original Apple TV, so I wasn't sure whether there would be value in buying the new one. The new one is a different animal for sure. It doesn't have a hard drive like the old version so you can't store movies or music on it. It only streams live. I was worried about this change, but now that I've used it, I really like it. All my media is stored on my desktop computer, which has a huge hard drive. Anything on my desktop or in my Itunes library automatically streams. It goes fast. It's awesome.

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up, like most Apple products. Not much bigger than a hockey puck so not another big box, and very portable. If your wireless or internet connection is good, you will get great HD quality. I mainly got for MLB.tv which is now fantastic to stream on the TV instead of a computer or having to hook up extra cables. It is also nice to rent movies off ITunes. It is great also to show pictures from Flickr and Mobileme, and stream music from the computer to your entertainment center. The quality is great and in many cases it is cheaper than using Charter in-Demand. Overall the price means that it is cheap to add and great to use.

I Finally Have It!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was waiting a while to get this, and now that I have it, I'm very happy. Great product, only a glitch or two. The biggest problem I've had with it is that sometimes, if I pause a movie to go to the bathroom or get a snack, when I come back, the Apple TV no longer recognizes my Mac. I can eventually get it working again, but I have not figured out yet WHAT IT IS that gets it working. It's taken upwards of 5-10 minutes of constant trial and error to get it to recognize the computer. Other than that, I have 0 complaints. I still recommend it, since this only seems like a software glitch that can eventually be patched by Apple.

Great for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For 99 bucks, it's been pretty cool to have access to my iTunes content on my TV. There's still some kinks to work out, but if anyone will do it, Apple surely will. I hope that iCloud will do away with the need for an active iTunes library or iMovie/ iPhoto library. I really enjoy having rentals available anytime. The quality for rentals is so much better than Netflix, it hurts a little to go back to Netflix after renting from the Apple Store. Also if I prefer to watch my Netflix content, I still can. I love having access to Flickr, YouTube and many other web videos. Overall, the plusses definitely outweigh the minuses. I am really pleased with this little black box.
