You cannot plug the USB into this. At all. Even looking at the inside of it you can see where a USB does not belong in there. I will definitely be returning this piece of junk

This adapter from Apple worked great allowing me to connect from USB C devices to USB A devices without any issues. I had to connect to some older devices and this made it so much easier. I just plugged it in and it worked right away. No configuration needed just worked right out of the packaging. Making the setup of the products I am using a breeze. I would suggest to anyone. I tried other ones out there and had issues with them, I found the official Apple one worked right away.

I own two of these that I use to connect accessories like external hard drives and thumb drives to my MacBook Pro. I had contemplated purchasing cheaper options from Amazon, but decided to stick with the Apple product. I am glad that I did, because some of the reviews for the other adaptors even mentioned ruining the reviewer's MacBooks. I have never had any issues with the connections when using these. Would I like it to be a little cheaper? Yes. Would I buy this item again anyway. Yes, without hesitation.

Always buy Apple branded products for use with actual Apple products. Even though it was more then some of the other alternatives, this USB-C adapter works fine and I'll know it'll continue to work for as long as I own it. I use it to connect an IPhone 15 to an USB-A cable from a digital camera. It is easy to use and carry with you. This will also work with connecting to a MAC Book and any type of USB-A connection.

Although this adapter may appear quite expensive, the utility it offers in terms of a cabled USB-A port from your USB-C device cannot be overlooked, as the cable allows you to put less stress on your USB-C ports unlike other adapters. This means that your device will not hang off the port, creating stress and potential damage. Better to replace a $20 adapter than a $2500 laptop.

Nice quality product. Necessary, and not overpriced. Many devices still require a USB input, while my MacBook Pro M2 has a USB-C port. I used this to connect a video capture device to my Mac and it worked well.

This is a necessary converter for any newer MacBook user, as most cables and accessories still use USB connections and these newer models do not have USB ports. It is small and easily stored, but could be easily lost if misplaced! Durable quality, slightly thicker than the average iPhone charger cord. Glad that it is not too pricey considering that it is mostly necessary for new Mac models!

I got this so I can use a regular mouse with my iPad Air. It worked very seamlessly. Also plugged in my Rode mic to record directly to my iPad & it worked great for that as well. Zero complaints. Good product & good value for the price. Few months later with regular use & it's still going strong. No connectivity issues.

Needed this dongle to connect old USB A devices to my 2016 MacBook Pro 13 non touch bar. It does the job. Connections on both ends are tight and secure. Haven't had any compatibility issues with any of my USB A devices. Feels solidly built and small enough to be very portable. I also had a $10 Best Buy certificate so I only had to pay for tax. Can't beat that deal.

This is a neat little thing that makes it easy to get things like your USB flash drive to work with your new MacBook Pro, and if thats all you need you don't have to get out a big bulky attachment to plug your older style USB into you MacBook with this. It works like its part of the cable and I can't say to much about how sturdy it is yet but so far mine works good and doesn't show any signs of ware but I wouldn't recommend folding it. I will say that if all I want to do is take my laptop somewhere then I can just stick this in my pocket just incase with out noticing I'm packing something extra, and it can be used with external mouse. I will say that the price on this item is why I gave it 4 stars and I don't think a simple adapter needs to cost so much...and these should be thrown in with the computer and that would be great. I wish they would make this stuff in black or grey that would be less likely to get dirty and be really cool looking, but I do like the white clean look. Quick to plug in and go, easy to use if you need the plug in but don't want a large set of adapters to plug in get this.

Easy to use and works with all of my Apple devices. I can use it for my wireless mouse, SD card readers, thumb drives and more. The adapter isn't big so it doesn't get in the way which I love.

I could use my mouse that I have had and will not do without unless I had this adapter cord. It’s a really good quality cord. I have never had an issue with it. Connection is great. I like the size of it. I would definitely buy again.

For photography, I still use flash drives, so having this is perfect since MacBooks don’t have flash drive slots. It works fast, and is easy to just plug in to my MacBook and is portable! I would recomment to every flash drive user with a MacBook!

Apple just makes better stuff for Apple products. This adapter fits my USB thumb drives better than other products.

Allows a USB connection to the Macbook 12". USB C is the only port available on this machine. It allows us to connect our cameras and other USB devices. Easy to use, and no problems with the MAC OS recognizing equipment and loading drivers. Really a must have accessory for this machine.

LIKES: Compactness; Works DISLIKES: Cost I purchased this accessory to use with my iPhone, specifically using it to connect it to USB A/B ports. It works, and I have no complaints other than its cost. You can buy a new cable, but it will not fit in your pocket or your wallet.
