It works pretty well for that. It sometimes drops out when I am listening to music with my AirPods but I have to make sure that my phone is far enough away so it doesn't interfere. Sometimes I have to reboot it but then it works great. I would give it a 5 if not for this issue. I'm really happy with the fitness tracker although I have to tell it when I start my workout. It will recognize when I am doing cardio but not when I am weight training or yoga. I'm an Apple fan and like this addition a lot.
