Good watch but with a learning curve

I really like the watch so far. I hav had no problem going more than 24 hours between charges and it takes less than an hour to get back to 100%. It has taken some time to learn how to work all of the apps and functions. Reading the user guide is well worth it.
I replaced my Fitbit with this watch and there are some differences: Pros-has GPS, can respond to calls and texts, is stricter than the Fitbit in measuring steps and activity, can see apps without pulling out my phone, waterproof. Cons- need to manually start exercise sessions or you don't get full credit, no native sleep tracker (there is a free app Pillow but you have to manually start it and it won't let you fall asleep listening to a book), sometimes getting an app to update or start can be frustrating. Overall it was what what I was looking for and I am happy with the purchase.

Excellent fitness and all around activity watch.
PROS:
-Functions well with iphone
-Accurate step count
-GPS
-Water resistant
-Many different activities other than running (cycling, swimming, elliptical, etc)
-Comfortable and looks great
-Better than expected battery life. Can get 24-28hrs if I don't use the GPS that day
-responding to text messages are super easy, especially with voice control
CONS:
-Function isn't easy. A bit of a learning curve
-Even though a pro, battery life overall. Would be nice to go 2-3 days
-Price.
I would still highly recommend. It meets all of my fitness tracking needs, looks great (can change the band for a stylish night out), and has a bunch of other neat functions.
If you are a guy, I would recommend the 42mm for your wrist. My wife has the 38mm and loves the size for her.

Most of what I need to do with my phone, I can do with this watch. It makes it much easier to get texts, answer calls, and see notifications without having to drag out my phone. Paired easily and quickly with my iPhone 7. I could not justify the additional cost for cellular service on the Series 3, as my phone is never more than 30 ft away from me.

I am beyond happy with my 42mm Series2 rose gold watch! It really has a lot to offer: Keeps me motivated throughout the day as far as tracking my steps, counting my calories and more! I love that it keeps track of my daily exercising/working out and challenges me to meet my activity goals. I have never had to worry about losing a charge since the battery life is still high percentage when I take it off at night. Also, love the fact that I get notifications when I do not have my phone near me. I never miss a call or text since I'm always on the go & sometimes misplace my phone around the house. Another good feature is that you can PING your phone from the watch if you cannot locate your phone. I could just go on & on.....This is absolutely the best watch ever! I could not be happier :)

I’m in love with my Apple Watch. Is a great motivation to work out. You have a stand up, movement and excercise rings that you have to close each day. I honestly bought it for the waterproof feature since swimming is part of my routine. It works amazing. Other than that I like when I get my text notifications without having to look at my phone.

I have been waiting for the Apple Watch Series 2 to be released and it is everything I hoped for! I got the 38mm rose gold - It fits great and looks great too. This watch is great for so many reasons but to start, staying fit and active is important to me, so I love being able to track how many steps I have, how many calories I've burned, and many more activity functions that it tracks for me too; It keeps me aware of my daily activity and challenges me to do better every day! An added bonus is that it has GPS capabilities and is water proof, too. What more can ask from a watch!? Another thing I love is that it shows all of my notifications, so I don't always have to have my phone in my hands if I'm expecting an important phone call/text.
I highly recommend this watch, it is the best!

Love love love this watch! I had a series 1 prior to purchasing this watch and I loved it, but was wanting the bigger screen. I love the series 2! It is remarkedly faster than the series 1 and with being a nurse it makes me much more comfortable wearing it at work with it being more water resistant than the series 1. Great product!

I bought the Apple Watch Series 2 42mm Rose Gold and I love it!!! I will say before buying go into the store and try them on I was conflicted between the two sizes and I still am but I went for the bigger one because of the bigger screen making it easier to read things. The battery life is amazing. I can go 2 to 3 days without a charge and I love how easy it is to use! I bought a Fitbit a month before my Apple Watch because I thought it would be better and I like it but the features of the two products don't compare. I like having a smaller version of my phone on my wrist for when I'm at work or out and can't get to my actual phone. I can't leave the house without it now and I definitely would recommend it to anyone!

I was skeptical at first purchasing this watch thinking it was only going to tell me the time and read me a few text - but as I used more day by day I found my self using it more and more. For instance: responding to texts , answering calls , daily reminders gently pulsing my wrist to keep up with the day , using the stand up, excersize goals too! Now I feel lost not having it around. I carry a big purse , so my phone is always a little “lost” -the apple watch has helped tackle the need to constantly be searching for my phone. All in all. Def recommend for any one.

I have been reluctant in buying another "smart" wearable, especially the Apple Watch, though I use almost every other product of theirs, due to the annoyance factor. For the past few years I've been sticking mostly with fitness trackers, however, none of them exactly fit what I wanted. Either they were not as accurate as I hoped or did not provide the tracking or notifications I wanted. After the last fitness tracker I tried completely frustrated me, I purchased the Apple Watch 2 and have been more than blown away with the ease of use, ability to control the amount of notifications, the multitude of fitness apps, and a very good battery life with the amount of use that it gets.

My 2nd gen Apple Watch builds on everything I loved about my 1st gen Apple Watch. Battery life is great! I’m excited to take advantage of the waterproof design. The heart rate sensor also seems to be more accurate and made better than the previous gen as well...all that said, I couldn’t be happier.

When the Apple Watch came out, I really liked it but was apprehensive about buying a 1st gen product and the fact that it was missing some key features. So I waited and am glad that I did. The fact that the new Apple Watch Series 2 is waterproof and includes integrated gps made it a no brainer for me. Now they only thing I wish that it did have was a little longer battery life but as of the most recent update I can easily get through pretty much 2 whole days without requiring a charge. Now don't get me wrong this is after the first few weeks of fiddling with it all the time which honestly didn't get me much past a day. I really like this watch and would definitely recommend it!

A want that becomes a need

Having not worn a watch in over 20 years and somebody who already feels too connected to his phone and technology you'd think buying an Apple Watch would be the last thing I either want or need. But this device has changed me. For me it's not about having a companion device for my phone but the ability to leave my phone behind. I waited to buy the Apple Watch until it had onboard GPS so I could track all my activities, biking/running/hiking/walking. It's my activity companion. For once technology entices me to get off the couch rather than become a potato. The ability to use the watch to communicate is an added bonus but not why I bought it. It's really about how you want to use this device. If you're in the Apple ecosystem and want to be active, then this is a must have.

I've had my Apple Watch for a couple of weeks now and absolutely love it. I can go 2-3 days on one charge depending on how much I use the aps. I never have to worry about missing a call or a text anymore if my phone is on silent since the watch notifies you. No problems at all so far!

I’ve had the watch for a few days and have greatly enjoyed it so far. It has been pretty useful to quickly reply to messages if my phone is in my pocket. The best thing so far though has been the fitness tools. They really encourage and remind you to get up and do something.

I really wanted the stainless steel Apple Watch with the mesh band, but I couldn't justify spending that much, especially given how quickly technology changes. Instead, I got this space gray aluminum case with the nylon band that has a mesh-like look. I absolutely LOVE this Apple Watch, although I admit that a big part of why I like it has to do with how well it integrates with my iPhone. I can take a phone call from my wrist instead of digging my phone out of my pocket or purse, and the text messages and notifications that appear on my phone/iPad show up on the watch. Set-up was mostly easy, although I had to restart my phone because it couldn't read the coded icon on the watch face at first. I don't recommend women going larger than this 38mm size, although I've seen it on men, too, and it doesn't look small.
I especially love that this Series 2 watch is waterproof and has GPS, both of which allow for a greater range of recorded activities. I can tap the date at the top left and bring up my calendar for the day. Depending on which watch face you choose (and you can change from minute to minute), I can tap on the outdoor temperature to bring up the forecast. I can see what my heart rate is, see my progress on activity goals, and start recording a specific exercise. I can control the music I want played out of my iPhone (great when I'm walking outside with headphones on). I can text using the voice control, and I can conjure up Siri. Many apps that are compatible with the iPhone are also compatible with the Watch. The biggest downside is that you need to know the icons that represent the apps you want to open since there's no keyboard and therefore no search capabilities -- you move the icons around with your finger until you find the one you want.
So far, at least, the charge lasts from the moment I get up to the moment I go to bed. I charge it overnight, every night, but I suspect it might last at least halfway through another day. Last night, for example, I had a 45% charge remaining when I went to bed. The 38mm is perfect for a women's wrist, and it's so lightweight that I'm not conscious of wearing it except when it vibrates to indicate a message/notification or when I go to use a specific app. If you have large wrists, you might have to buy a bigger band; I have relatively small wrists, and I have only four notches remaining.
I've tried several smart watches, and none are as elegant with the user interface and functionality. The Pebble comes the closest, but now that they've sold their company to FitBit, the Apple Watch has little or no competition in terms of quality. Yeah, the Apple Watch isn't cheap, but you CAN get one of the lower priced ones. If you want the waterproof and GPS capabilities, you'll want the Series 2. The processor is also supposedly faster -- I have nothing to compare it to so I don't know how much of a difference that makes.
The funny thing is that I wasn't sure I wanted an Apple Watch despite loving new technology. Now I'm sure that I will wear this every day.

I bought the apple watch when it first came out and even though I loved it, the battery never lasted a full day. (my usual day is about 18 hours).
The Gen 2 model lasts all day even when I use the activity tracking for my bike rides. The haptic taps are more pronounced and the volume on the dings is also louder. The screen brightness is much better too. The built in GPS chip and the water proof featue is just a bonus.
I love my apple watch 2.
BTW- no need to pay for upgraded screen or bands. My first one is still great shape and I work construction and aftermarket bands are 20-50 bucks!

I bought the series 2 and couldn’t be happier. While I’ve owned Apple products for a while, this watch is equally as good. Built in GPS, I can swim or shower without having to remove it, functions well, I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking about one.
